I put marine grease in my grease gun to grease a clients water wheel bearings. Is it contaminated now so that I need to clean out my grease gun before using my regular BJ and tie rod grease? Any answers related to chicken grease will be disregarded . Thanks in advance

I replaced my compressor today. Been working fine at idle on the job. But drive at rpm for quarter mile and the cold air goes away. Pretty much figured the clutch was shot and slipping since the clutch could not keep up with engine rpm after a short drive. Never made any funny noises and worked fine parked. Took the old one off today and here is what it looked like. A touch off center don't you hink. Plus it was leaking some oil which that I attributed to the engine. Anyway I drained the oil from this one and got an oz and a half maybe. Wish there was a dipstick for situation.

Has anyone with factory fog lights on their Sport truck ever installed those aftermarket LED light assembly's? I can find some for the non-Sport trucks but nothing for the Sport trucks. (different mounts and assembly) At this point I'm simply looking for suggestions.....but not interesting is hacking things up under the bumper either. So its gotta fit.

I've always pondered why the AC dryer/accumulator hanging on the firewall is so close to the exhaust. Logic tells me that this wouldn't be a great design when you're asking the condenser to cool the freon down so it can return into the evaporator...only to have it pass right next to a 800-900* exhaust along its way. Seems kinda counter productive... Anyways, I had some extra heat insulation material for protecting things from direct heat and thought, why not wrap it around the dryer/accumulator to better protect it from the hot exhaust. Is there something I'm missing? Would this be a problem I'm unaware of? Would this even help? I've heard of people wra…

My rear brakes are real touchy and been that way for a while. The Hydro boost started leaking so replaced and everything was good for 2 days and now back to locking up right rear. I ordered a divider valve today just because it was cheap enough to throw at it. No codes or anything so what do you think?

I may be purchasing a 12 valve in the near future that is 100% bone stock with only 60K miles on it. Is there such thing as an all-in-one LCD display that can display: fuel pressure, boost pressure, oil pressure, radiator temp, tranny temp, intake air temp, EGT’s, etc? I have a quad on my 24v and it’s really nice having one screen with all my info right there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

HI I took the dog out last night and noticed that my brake lights were on. I played around with the petal and they went off, for awhile. Then they came back on. Then I unplugged the switch at the brake pedal, they went off, for awhile. Then they came back on. Then I unplugged the fuse for the tail lights, they went off, for awhile. I took the dog out this morning, and they were back on. I'm not too good at electrical so any advise is most welcome. I'm in a remote area, and I have some tools, so the best thing would be for me to figure it out where I sit.

2001 with CAD and vacuum actuator, has anyone replaced this with a factory or store part and what would you recommend? No, I don't want to the cable, just replace what's broken. Rock Auto has a standard motors unit,a dana unit where the part numbers don't match anything online...

Back to this topic again. I put plow prep coils/extra capacity coils on my truck a while back, thinking I was going to put a ranch hand bumper on and $1200 for a bumper just isn't in the budget anytime soon. Plow prep coils are just too stiff and too tall, I'm either putting my stock coils back on or putting some new coils from NAPA or Rock Auto on. Has anyone replaced their coils with new stock height coils? I'm trying to achieve a smoother ride. Truck is mostly a weekend warrior and not loaded heavy. NAPA has some for single cabs and extended cabs and I'm thinking of getting the single cabs for the reduced spring rate. I'm also running Ranch monotubes shock…

Hello all. New to the site and thankful for finding a bunch of likeminded people. This is my 5th Cummins it’s a 2002 6spd 2500 longbox 4wd. About to turn over 500,000 kms (Canada). Love it and it does everything I need it to but recently I’ve been noticing what feels like an awful lot of axle wrap while towing. I got to tearing into it yesterday and found a couple loose u bolts but worse is that the factory lift blocks under the leaf packs seem to be walking off the axle perch. It it must have been happening for a bit because both the block and the perch are misformed now. My question is do I buy a new lift block and hope for the bes…

OK guys need a little help here. Was looking at the body tongiht and getting it lined up when we thought about not having all the all weight on the frame will shift the suspension a bit relative to the frame due to the linkage pivot points. This would explain why some things didn't line up as expected. So I am looking for the following measurements from someone with either a 2500 or 3500 frame/suspension set up (6bt engine and manual tranny if possible!). Please note back where the measurement was taken from to the ground (center of bolt, top/bottom of bolt, joint between members, etc) something I can use as a solid reference. I plan on torching the springs to get it…

Recharged the ac last week got everything up and running fine. On the way home the air went from 40* to 80*. Made a pit stop got back in fired her up and she worked for about an hour or so then back to 80*. Upon further inspection I see that the clutch is turning very slowly and a little jerky like the clutch is fried. What can I check to see if thats the case or just maybe the pressure switch.
