My truck has been feeling unstable lately when hitting bumps. It seems to sway left and right easily in a quick jerking motion. My end links are definitely worm and was wondering if this could be the sole cause of the issue? Truck has new Bilstien 5100's, DOR track bar with no play, ball joints don't have play, unit bearings don't have play, and all steering linkages are new and have no play.

  2. I took out the heavy duty lift coils and put my stock front coil springs back in. With the lift, the drag link adjusting sleeve was maxed out with the threaded ends butting each other in the sleeve. So I cut 3/4” off each threaded end so they wouldn’t bottom out. Now I have a huge gap between the threaded ends with everything roughly aligned by me. Is this a weak point or don’t worry. This is on my 01 with 2010 T style steering.

So today I had some time to spare so I removed the gooseneck hitch from the bed of the truck. Boy am I glad I did. We have been pulling our 36' 10k pound fifth wheel (with an adapter) with this hitch. I noticed that one of the cross members was badly rusted, that's what prompted me to remove it to inspect it. All 4 bolts snapped off when I tried to loosen them. The hitch is junk. It would have been very dangerous if not catastrophic to pull the camper again. See pics below.

I have a 2000 3500 5 speed. New built engine. Currently getting about 9 volts to fuel relay. Truck started and ran upon engine install but oil change place arced alternator on oil filter. Injector pump was fried, so I replaced. Traced back to computer. Sent off twice and got same result. Installed computer on another truck, same result, have to jump pins for relay to start engine. Sent off to Auto computer specialist this time, same result. Fass comes on and works fine but injector pump won't create pressure while this relay is getting low voltage. Please help. I have used this site for testing wires and can only come up with computer failure but after repairing 3 times n…

  6. Yesterday I wanted to clean up my 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 after hauling a Common Rail engine to Boise, ID to be rebuild. I looked under the bed liner and it was dusty, dirty, etc. So quickly jerk up in the center and released the bead liner and flip it out of the truck and fired up the pressure washer. There was packed sand in the corners, a few good sized rocked in there, leaves, oil and grease, you name it was in there. After a quick rinsing out here is what a 20 year old truck with a bed liner should look like if taken care of. Fender wells have a few dents after a few years of wood hauling in the bed. No rust, and barely even wore through the paint…

  10. I like the extra studs next to the posts for powering/ adding electrical accessories. I read some where batteries act like a giant buffer or capacitor and help reduce electrical noise. Do deeper cycle batts help a bit more in any way than regular starting batteries?

  13. I looked at the A/C relay under the hood and pulled the fuse. Engine running max a/c on i have voltage at one wire and with just normal a/c i have power at two wires. I need a diagram to show what wire goes were. I did some googling but i can't find what i need. There's a two wire plug down by the compressor that is broken. The fuse box side of the wireing is intact so i checked for power at both wires and nothing. I swaped relays around but still no power. So if anyone can post the diagram i need i would be a happy camper.

i am a little confused by this. everything that i read says that my truck should have a 36 gallon tank as standard equipment. but i have never put more than 26 gallons into an empty tank. was there an option for a smaller tank? when the fuel light comes on surely there is not 10 gallons left? i am curious if my guage/sender is reading correctly.

My oem has the slop going on. I've read mixed reviews about the borgeson box, the napa box, and don't know much about the redhead box. Point me in the right direction, if I'm going to give up a day of fishing for the swap I do not want to do it again 6 months later.Luke

My truck has had some electrical issues with door locks and windows since I got it but the latest is weird. I can unlock my doors either with the key fob or the switch and they unlock when I turn the key off..normal; however, they won't lock in any of the mentioned ways (fob, switch, or when key is turned on). Once in a while they'll work so I assume there's a loose connection somewhere. So, before I start tearing apart areas that have nothing to do with it, could someone with experience in this area steer me in the right direction. Thank

I am still running a isolator on my fuel pressure gauge and I don't think its reading right. I remember some sort of needle valve, is there a brand or size I should look for ?

But I'm confused... So while I was at the auto parts store, I remembered that my tire pressure gauges were not adeqaute enough to test the trucks tire pressures. Got home and decided to give it a whirl. Looked on the sidewall and it said 80psi max. Okay, so I tested it. All my tires come out to about 50psi! They don't look flat, but dang! 30psi from max inflation? 'Am I missing something here? Is there something I'am missing when I got into the truck world?I have always ran my tires at about max inflation... This makes me wonder.
