Im trying to get some info on which is the best recommend coolant for my 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins 24Valve. Im going to change my water pump today and drain all the coolant, so i was wondering if there is another route to take verse buying the coolant at the dealership for 24.35 really not trying to go that route The parts man at dodge just told me as long at its the green i should be good. He said that the green all come from the same place just different labels on there. so if this is helpful everyone can now save a few bucks

Someone showed me this website and I have to say it looks pretty cool. You could change the color of your car/truck whenever you felt like it. Pretty inexpensive too. I might give it a try. https://www.dipyourcar.com/

  3. Simple question about elec trouble shooting? I'm installing a elec low pressure gauge. Already installed for many years are trans, boost, and egt's. Batteries are disconnected. Looks like gauges are "daisy chained" together. IE wires for power and ground to gauges all tied together and then disappear under dash. I'm going to add the low fuel pressure gauge to them. Wire disappears up under dash where I can't see or tell where the wires grounded or where they are getting power. (Access for me right now is behind the headlight switch, whole dash is not pulled) Question...To find where power is coming from and what fuse....hook up a volt meter to gauge wire…

Ok everyone I have the parts coming in Today and Tomorrow to replace my Heater Core. I am also going to swap out my Evap and Blower motor while I have the HVAC Box out. To top it all off I have needed to replace my Dash for awhile now so one is on the way from LMC Truck and that will be going in as well. Mike I have seen your video on You Tube and it breaks things down pretty well for the HVAC Box. If there are any little tid bits or pieces of advice anyone has please share them with me. I will write up a synopsis of how the job went when I am finished. Thanks Probably should have put this in 2nd Gen Non Powertrain Related if someone can move this that w…

Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and this is my first diesel. I just picked up a 99 2500 long bed 4x4 5 speed manual. Truck has 310k on it and according to the service records the truck has been maintained well. My question is what temp should the thermostat open up at? When driving from cold the thermostat goes past 190 to probably 215 or 220 then opens up and drops back down to 180-190. It never over heats, but it is the initial opening that makes me wonder if the thermostat is sticking. When it goes over 190 the cab has a little bit of a sweet antifreeze smell but I have checked under the hood and there are no leaks. It just smells hot when it first opens up. I can …

Today I was inspecting my spare tire and noticed this rod with one end attached to the drivers side rear axle but nothing was hooked to the other side. I looked it up online and found out it is a rear height sensing valve that proportions the rear brakes according to the load in the bed. I read that some people buy a bypass hose or zip tie it in an upright position to increase rear braking power. What position should I put it in? It has been hanging straight down for who knows how long. Should I just secure it to the rod and keep it in that position? Straight up? Parallel to the frame?

  7. I want to do a battery load test with volt meter. Which fuse would be best to pull in your opinion. Or what is best. Thanks

Hello, kind of real problem. I have had my "flasher relay" fail about three times over the 331,000 mile life of my 99 dodge DSL. The lasty time the flashers and turs stopped working it was not the "Flasher Relay (located on the left of the dash behind the removable cover). I have checked every fuse in the cab and under the hood as well as the Trailer relay...npo luck. I changed out the Turn signal multi function switch about three months ago with the OEM part (trying to fix a wiper problem that I never did get fixed). Don't really know where to look at this point, Steve Campbell 208-315-4726

  9. Ok, so I've had a bad shake/wobble on the highway for a few weeks now. I had a third gen adjustable track bar with drop bracket, Carli Coils, Bilstein 5100s, TGC tubular upper and lower control arms and some nice tie rod ends and so I had my buddy install them. You really need a pretty nice spring compressor to install these springs right because they are so much longer than the oem springs. I had the rear u-join on the driveshaft replaced as well while it was sitting. It was the only bad one. So I've tried two different pickle forks, and a small press so far. I flipped the castle nut over and hit the top of the nut with a small sledge. They aren't even budging. The small …

  10. 2001 I just got from dealer, auto btw, test drove it drove fine they had a new lift pump installed that day, well I made it home and the next day I took it to work , well it sits at the yard till I get off so I get there and I go to ride a round and take my buddy home, well leaving DAIRY QUEEN, to go to CHEVRON to get some fuel since gauge doesn't work , DEALER sent new one btw will get tomorrow aswell as a TIMBOS tps but I paid next day and kinda got screwed if you order wrong, anyway, going from dq to chevron the truck dies as I am turning to a pump, ok drop in N then stop then P then try to start it fires up, ok well I add 25$ , eventually filling tank up later, but as…

  11. I just rebuilt my hydro boost with a seal kit because it was leaking power steering fluid. I carefully separated the halves of it and just replaced the one oil seal that sits around the piston, and then the figure 8 seal. My hydro boost was acting normally except for the P/S fluid leak up until this point. My hydro boost is not leaking power steering fluid anymore, but now when I start the pickup or I'm moving slowly, it acts like the brakes are self applied without pushing on the brake pedal, because I can give it throttle pedal pressure and it takes more power to move the pickup now. I understand that this is most likely caused by a plugged/restricted return…

  12. Anybody know of any low fuel pressure light that lights up around 12 psi or little bit higher? I have an Airdog fuel pump. Already have an BD and Airdog low pressure light , but they light up when fuel pressure is much to low in my opinion. In process of installing a fuel pressure gauge but would also like light that goes off around 12 psi or little bit more. Thanks

Has anyone replaced the seat cushion in their truck? Mine is pretty wore out, but I hate to spend the $125 just to realize that I don't have the right skills or tools to replace it. https://www.genosgarage.com/product/dodge-ram-replacement-driver-seat-cushion-gg-sc9801/new-products

Most of the summer, the only way to get the drivers side to work was to 'thump' the inside door panel, just below the switches... whilst holding the switch. Made for some pretty erratic driving to say the least.. sonny tried a new switch, but that didn't work either, same action was needed to make it work. Now the passenger side no longer works, but it worked fine until yesterday. Is that metal 'fuse' in the side dash a fuse, circuit breaker, or relay? It's the same that runs the power seats.. but swapping them made no difference.. seat works fine with either. So, what's the order of events here? Fin…

  16. So I picked up a set of fourth gen. wheels for my 98.5 and I'm looking for opinions as to what I can do to get these wheels looking like new. I was initially going to powdercoat them but I did a 180 once I saw how they looked on the truck with a factory finish. Luckily these wheels do not have any curb-rash, dings, nicks, etc. They did come off a 2011 model year truck that has seen it's Wisconsin winters. All imperfections aren't even that bad but I really want them to look like new before I mount tires on them. I am confused as to what the what the process is to giving alloy wheels the finish they have. I am also confused as to where to take them to. I h…

I was just pricing up parts for my dash overhaul and there is decent price difference between Mopar and aftermarket heater core and ac evaporator $36 for spectra heater core, $135 for Mopar $49 for four seasons evaporator, $330 for Mopar Mopar or nocar? I'm having a hard time justifying the over $300 price difference just for a genuine oe part. Any input?

Hi all, Does anyone have the part number for the OEM dodge tow hooks? I am trying to find them online but its proving to be very very hard without a part number. I would also be interested in any bolt on, clean looking aftermarket solution anyone has come up with. Thanks

What do people commonly use to keep gauge in the hole of a "A" pillar? Black glue, black silicone caulking, liquid elec tape, etc? Thanks
