I need to know what this part is. I went to the local parts store and they/we think it is brake proportional valve sensor. When i was chasing wires on the 7 prong rear plug wasn't getting power i must have bumped it and broke it off, now my ABS and brake lights are on. can i buy just the sensor or do i have to buy the whole thing?

Anyone know if these style retaimers will work to hold the front plastic fender wells? My factory ones are similar except they are big plastic pop rivet type http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Push-Type-Retainer-11-16-Head-Dia-7-8-Length-p/a14753.htm

I want to safely lock up two long guns in the cab of my truck. The storage solution must be lockable with a high security keyed lock or a pad lock option so I can use my preferred lock. Bicycle cable solutions are not acceptable and while not 100% necessary concealment is preferred. What is out there? Everything I have personally seen is either pistol related or specifically for third gen trucks.

My 2001 has the fancy chrome wheels and unfortunately every one has a case of the corrosion cancer that I guess is separating the chrome or clearcoat from the wheel metal. It looks horrible and is flaking off pretty badly. I can deal with this issue on the body paint, but not the wheels too! :lol:I have never liked these wheels anyway - have always preferred a more utilitarian look like the old white steelies on older trucks. My question is this - does anyone run 4 steel "spare" wheels on a 2nd gen? Is there anything different about them in terms of load or anything? My factory steel spare came with a Michelin LTX MS 265/75/16E mounted on it so I would guess the answer is…

I had a leak problem with a factory replacement back sliding glass two years ago when I had the original replaced since I accidentally knocked a hole in it with a piece of firewood. The leak returned about a week ago and i saw where the track for the slider itself had worked loose on the glass itself and caused the leak and causing the back window track to flop around when you slide it open/closed. My glass guy, who has been in business 30 years said he ordered another replacement glass from factory (chrysler) and it had the same problem. He called them and told them to fix the problem and ship him a good one and the same thing again. That's 3 faulty rea…

I’ve had a small slow leak from the Tappet cover for a long time. My plan was to wait until my VP bit the dust and do everything at once, but my VP keeps humming along and the leak has gotten much worse over the past 2 months. I’m thinking about getting the billet Tappet cover from Keating (they are local to me). The reason why is because folks seem to have a higher success rate with the billet covers, and I really don’t want to have to do this twice, especially in the winter. Mike’s write up on replacing the gasket is great, but I’m not a professional mechanic like Mike is. Am I being too paranoid, or is the extra $200 worth getting the billet cover and increasing my cha…

The other day I noticed my front calipers were rattling around and after a quick look I found that the bottom guide rod bushings had fallen out. I replaced the calipers ~6 months ago so I know the rubber bushings aren’t dry rotted. All the bolts are tight and there is no abnormal wear that I can see. Any idea what could have caused this to happen? This is what the bushings look like. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dhb-hw5606?seid=srese1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAkePyBRCEARIsAMy5Scv3bFSBEYEsdiEE4aaPXLpv_t15IJVUxQqcwGCP8H7iIcHuCx14kAsaArlKEALw_wcB

Howdy all. I've been having an issue lately the brakes on my 96" 2500 4x4. Sometimes when hitting the brakes the pedal will go to the floor and I can barely stop. It happens at random and the ABS light never comes on. Yesterday I unplugged the ABS and my brakes started working normal again. I grew up driving trucks without ABS so I'm not going to kill myself or anything with it being disabled for now. I would like to get it figured out though but I'm not sure where to start.

I have an 01 Dually club cab, bottoms of the doors are a little rotten. Found a 99 being parted out with perfect doors. #1 will they bolt up no issue? #2 they are manual windows and I have a power window truck. Can I move everything over to those doors?

I was working on my 96 Ram this past weekend and stepped the parking brake down. I applied it to where it normally is and then decided to make it a little tighter. When I did that it went all the way to the floor it didn't release like it normally does. I checked the cables today none of them are broken. Took the rear drums off and had some one step on the parking pedal everything moved normally in both drums. Is there anything in the pedal mechanism that can break. I'll adjust the rear brakes tomorrow and see if that helps. Anyone have any suggestions? Bob

Hi guys I’ve been having this problem on my 02 and it’s driving me nuts. The drivers side rear brakes squeal loudly when accelerating/coasting. As soon as any pressure is applied to the brake pedal it stops. I had the same problem before I replaced the pads last year with ceramics. Thought maybe they were metallic, but it made no difference. I just took the caliper off today to take a look and grease things up. Still squealing. It doesn’t make any noise when cold until you drive maybe 5 miles. Any help appreciate as this is making my otherwise mint truck sound like a pos and it’s very annoying. Thanks!

Just switched out my power steering fluid. Nothing wrong with the steering but I had some Walmart crap in there and wanted to flush out most of it. I didn't do a complete flush but drained the reservoir several times and replaced it with O'Reilly PSF which is Dodge MS-5931 compatible. Got in the rig this morning and my power steering and brakes were gone. YIKES...did I just lose my PS pump??? I'm thinking not (wouldn't that be a coincidence) so checked the reservoir and found I had way overfilled it. Drained it down to the "Cold" level, started up and in 30 seconds I had my PS and brakes back. I don't know if this a real issue or I had air in the lines or what b…
