Has anyone done this mod? Video makes access look easy, but with the hydro assist brakes not sure. They might also make a good vendor. I'll check that out.

On the 2001's is the rotor and hub separate or does the whole thing have to come off per taking off the castle nut- trying to get to the ABS sensorBTW the caliper was a pain in the to get off. Sorry if its a dumb questions, just have not had to mess with this stuff before. Thanks in advance!

01/5pd/4x Put the pedal down to stop the other day, got rewarded with no decel, some jingling and a stiff pedal, was able to feather it a bit until the pedal depressed and stopped me. Took my wheels off and looked to find a missing pad clip, pad was loose figured it to be my issue so I did pads and rotors since I was in there anyway. 3 days of normal braking no issue, today it rained a bit, I had about 40 mins of driving in everything pointed to normalcy until...same issue along with a butt puckeringly close call on the poor Accord in front of me. ABS/Brake lights flashed on and off a few times, I limped home. As I was backing into my driveway I noticed my wheel was …

So, back in about 2014, my 12v was in a wreck. It wrecked the steering box beyond repair. So, I replaced it with a Borgeson upgraded steering box. At the time, I had not considered anything like the 99 HD steering upgrade or a steering box stabilizer. 6 years passed, I forgot, and now I have parts I cant really use. I purchased a steering box stabilizer and the 99 upgraded parts. I did not purchase a new pittman arm because I thought it wasn't required. The taper is wrong for the pittman are to drag link. I think I can make the stabilizer work. So, does anybody have a part number for a pittman arm and maybe a steering box stabilizer that would wor…

I never thought installing a brake booster, master cylinder and all four brake calipers could disable a truck for three days. So I installed everything and just shortly afterwards the ABS light and Brake light come on brakes start dragging. I bleed the brakes so much I ruined the bleeder seats. Pulling my hair out I just didnt get it. This morning I go and talk to a master Dodge mechanic and he knew exactly what was up. He had me put two 3/8 nuts between the master cylinder and the brake booster and go drive it. Sure nuff 300 yards down the road the brake light goes off the ABS light went off brakes stop dragging and everything is back to normal. The company I bought th…

  9. Ok guys I been known to ask some Jerry Seinfeld questions ..... but I just need to know for sure... My filter has been on the truck atleast 60k miles. I've washed it the proper way... I don't normally put air pressure to it... but I decided to just to feel how much air I would feel passing through the filter.... I pushed some air from the inside out and could hardly feel any air going thru the other side ... I been having trouble getting above 25lbs of boost lately ... and I want to rule out the air filter .. .. any input on this is greatly appreciated

Once or twice per week my alarm will go off when unlocking. Thought it might be the key fob, changed batteries, used only the key to unlock, but it still triggered the alarm every once in a while. Hitting lock will shut it off, then I can unlock it without it going off again. Anyone else have this issue? Truck batteries are good too. Is there a way to disable the factory alarm? I'm sure my neighbors love the wake up call, although I'm not sure how much louder the horn is than the actual truck, ha! Thanks.

To make a long story short.. We have replaced both front calipers & hoses on the 99. The pass side brakes, and releases normal. The drivers side is still sticky ?? It does have 4 wheel ABS... I`m not sure of the proper name, but the ABS "valve body"?? seems to be the next thing in line.I`m wondering if anyone else has seen a similar issue:think:

I was looking at my truck today and someone installed the sun visors that has the lights on the side, but they never worked. I took the pillar off on the drivers side and there's two yellow wires there that were cut, one has a tracer and the other is solid. Both wires with key on has only 6 volts through them. What we ended up doing was running a new fused wire up to the visors and got both side to light now so that's noty really my issue, what I don't know is how the rear view mirror is wired because thos wires were hacked up too. The wires coming off the mirror are a blk, purple and a blue with a tracer. Can anyone tell me how to hook this mirror up? Could the 6 volt w…

Lately I've been wondering if possibly I've got a problem with my IAT sensor. I haven't gotten any codes but my grid heaters cycle at weird times & I also seem to be getting pretty bad gas mileage. 13-14mpg in town...Sometimes after I drive the truck for a while & it gets up to normal op. tmps I can shut it down, wait 5 minutes, start it back up & my grid heaters start cycling again....Shouldn't the intake manifold have already gotten warm enough that it wouldn't need to cycle the grid heaters again? I live in Alabama too, so it's not like it's cold or anything.... I've already pulled the IAT sensor out & checked it & cleaned it....It wasn't even d…

I was doing some rust maintenance in the rear, painted the axle, removed the 9/16" u bolts and brackets, blasted and powder coated them and installed new 5/8" skyjacker u bolts. Torqued in a criss cross pattern according to the link below, snug, then 40 ft-lbs, then 80, then 110. How much do these bolts stretch? Once I hit final torque on the first 2 nuts, the next 2 nuts hit torque sooner than the first 2. Then when I checked the torque on all the nuts they turned a little more before the wrench clicked. Is this normal, it was my first time doing u bolts. http://www.suspensionspecialists.com/techinfo/Ubolt_Information.pdf

I compiled this video to better explain how to check U joints. Think I pretty much explained everything in the video. If you take them apart, use a dead blow hammer, NOT a regular hammer, you can bend the yoke and then the U joint bearings will not line up. Sometimes it becomes necessary to use a regular hammer but be extra careful where you hit! Make sure you put threadlocker on the 8mm bearing caps, mine have come loose on me and I have heard reports of the same thing happening to others. I found a very detailed website if you want to learn more about all the driveshaft components. http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/PR-shaft/ http-~~-//www.youtube.com…

Where is the sensor located for the thermometer in the overhead display? I can't find it and nor could the 'not so bright' dude at the local dealer. I'm getting quite variable readings and when I got the truck it was bang on so I thought maybe the sensor needed some TLC.
