Yeas, so my 4WD shifter is sloppy, to say the least. Also, in 2WD, the knob is against the dash. The rod is adjusted as much as I can adjust it and still be able to select all tcase positions. As well, sometimes when I'm in 4WD (doesn't matter if it's LO or HI) I cannot get it back to 2WD without yanking/jacking with the shift-lever for a few minutes; quite the PITA.. Is there a method or repair for these darned things?

Guys,Turns out the trash that sold me my 02 also forgot to tell me about the Hide-A-Key under the bedrail. Anybody ever re key these trucks? I need doors and barrel. I don't want to call Dodge, because... its a dealer . Well, the 02 got broken into last night. They roughed up the interior, but the alarm scared the FSA bastards off before they did much more than ripped out the ash tray. Its parked at my office now, but it will be a target even after its re-keyed. Thanks.

For over 8 years, the 97 has had no air conditioning. I just rebuild it entirely with all new parts, including lines. Yesterday, I think I got the charge correct and managed to get ~25-30* vent temps on high with recirculate. It was 97 yesterday and and I measured 75* on the floor after 30 minutes. All of this is at idle, though I did rig up a fan on the condenser to bring the highs down from 250-275. Currently, my pressures are 30-35 and 200-225. Used a parallel flow micro tube condenser and an evap that had most of the foam seal around it. I also replaced all the foam in the air box and replaced the blower motor. The new (not reman) compressor is a Dens…

Hey guys I have a question. My truck has the option to install the front shocks inside the coil springs or on the side of the coil springs. Which is the preferred method please?

So I want to get rid of factory speakers, but this one has the premium audio. So by chance does anyone know if I try to get another set of new 2.0ohm for the (non oem) speaker will it work? Or do I need to gut the doors & rewire? Next it has the heated + power mirrors But there little, anyone know if a plug and play mirrors works ? [Ive ordered mirrors before offline and none of the included studs have ever worked :P]

Windshield mirror fell off. Was out at work and returned to the truck only to find the mirror on the truck hanging by the wire.Boy, and it was only 119 degrees here that day, so prolly at least 140-150 in the cab. You would have thought that the glue was good for at least 200 degrees! :)Ok, so I get to re-glue the metal holder to the windshield.Any tips, trick's or suggestions? Am assuming that its going to take the special "windshield mirror glue" and not just plain old super glue? Thx,FT

I have a 2002 dodge ram 3500 5.9 high output 6 speed manual i am having issues with, starts fine but when you give it gas it cuts out and starts blowing whitish bluish color smoke. Tested in tank fuel pump it came back bad so i replaced the fuel pump, get in it to prime fuel back into water fuel separator starts and idle fine, killed the truck and went to start it back it started running rough. Gave it a little gas it died now it wont start back? Can anyone suggest what i need to do?

  10. Ok, so I've been pondering this for a minute and thought I'd toss it out here. My truck (2001 3500) has steel wheels with 7 hand holes in each wheel. I know the common practice is to offset the valve stems 180° from each other. On my wheels if I do this the inner stem is hiding behind the steel in between holes of the outer wheel and very difficult to get to. I looked in the owners manual and it really didn't say much at all about this. If the tires are balanced separately before mounting to the axle would it really matter where the valve stwms are oriented? ( assuming the 180° offset is for balance purposes) I'd like to be able to easily ge…

Today I went ahead and did this mod ( http://www.midwestdieselconnection.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1812 ) since I traced it all out and didn't see any risk to it. Well since the lights are hooked up in parallel, they see the same voltage. I was curious as to how much they pulled the voltage down, if any and was quite surprised. The headlights have 3 wires going to them and they contain 2 elements in each one. One for dim and one for brights. The 3 wires are for ground, dim, and brights. So I took the connector off of one headlight and started the truck and measured between the ground and dim terminals, then from the ground to bright terminals. I then me…

Just curious as to whether anyone has a set of stock hub caps they would be willing to let go cheap????? Or does anyone know where I could find a decent deal on a set? I've looked all over ebay and all I have found is mostly used and abused ones in poor condition...I would like to find a set of chrome ones because I want to do a black powder coat on the wheels and just a little chrome would offset it nicely but any will do! I just hate the look of the rusty hubs on my truck:sick:. Thanks in advance!

Hi Everybody.....I'm new to this forum. I found your website while I was looking for information on the web for a weatherhead needle valve for my fuel line.........Looks like a great website & forumI'm having some problems with my fuel pressure gauge...I recently installed a new ISSPRO electronic fuel pressure gauge & Vulcan universal fuel line on my truck. I have the fuel line attatched to the test port on the VP-44. Everything seemed to work fine at first after I got the gauge installed. The fuel pressure readings stayed constant (14-15psi at idle) & fairly constant when driving. After about 3 times driving the truck the fuel pressure gauge started goin…

Hi all! I have an issue thats been bothering me. Every now and then my ABS will activate. At first I thought I hit loose stones or an oil patch but that's not the case. Does it pulling a trailer or not and I switched to a new brake controller that's supposed to be ABS friendly. Sometimes I can make it happen by pushing very lightly on the pedal. If I push hard on the pedal it will go away. It only seems to do it at the very begining of the pedal travel when I push down lightly. I'm thinking the sensor in the rear axle but during my search it seems the speedometer usually goes wacko if that goes bad. My speedometer is fine. Anyone have any ideas? :shrug:Thanks

I was on my way home from work today I got five miles in to my trip, and my "check gauges" came on. I looked and my battery gauge was all the way down to the minimun. I drove about 10 more miles to an advanced auto and opened my hood. There was antifreeze all over the engine bay. The first thing I did was panic, and thought I blew my head gasket. Anyways, I put some more antifreeze in it and drove the rest of the way home. The truck never over heated and drove normal. It did make a squeeling sound every once in a while like a belt was slipping. So, do you think it is my water pump? Did all the coolant mess up my alternator? Is the water pump easy to change?Thank…
