I added this today while home recovering from Wuhans. The filter is rated 95%, 140 microns, per SAE J1985 test. Pretty cheap off of Amazon and a bunch of filters cross over, so shouldn't pose a problem traveling. https://shop.donaldson.com/store/en-us/product/P552203/1553# The base is a standard cheap WIX 24770 universal unit. I drilled and tapped the frame 5/16" NF. I wanted to put a shut-off valve on the tank side, but decided I can just pinch off the hose when the time comes. Since I removed the "sock" in the tank when the Draw Straw went in, I needed some protection for the lift pump. I searched a 100 micron filter that would f…

I need to remove the passenger door panel and adjust the key unlock. It's like it's not quite long enough throw. Just barely unlocks the door and takes a few tries sometimes. What mind of tool is needed to remove the window crank handle? All manual doors and windows.

After 15 years of service my doors and now clunking, rattle, wind noise etc. I've been pretty religious about keeping the hinges lubed up and checking for door sag. Actually, my issue was more so in the rear doors which the lower latch was a bit sloppy. I did a bit adjusting to align the striker pin in the middle of the latch gap and make sure the door made a full cycle in on the latch (both latches). Then you have to re-adjust your main door striker pin the same way middle of the latch notch and enough that you get a full cycle of both latches. This really tightens up the doors a bunch and seem to shut solid now and tight. As for door sag, you can check this…

Is there a proper way to drain the water seperator on a fass 150? Whenever I open the valve on the bottom of the canister it seems like fuel just keeps coming out.

I think this is the cause of the AD 100 giving off this sudden intermitant whoot like sound as if air is shootin' thru. Those moments show a very quick drop in Fuel pressure. Could it do this even at a half a tank though? Just wonderin' what your thoughts might be.... I can't just extend it with a piece of hose and clamp. It will cause a hang up with the lower sleeve of the module extending and retracting

I got my DSV and the grommet ripped on the DSII while dropping the tank. I emailed Vulcan for info as well but what would be a good way to seal the hole up? Its roughly 1 3/8 diameter. Obviously it needs to be diesel compatible. I am thinking I could use it as a hole to refill the tank from my bed mounted aux tank, which currently uses the vent tube.

My turbine housing is cracked/frozen and needs to be replaced. While I have the turbo apart, is it worth drilling through the center section of the turbine housing to wastegate the first 3 cylinders? Any downside? Thanks guys maybe it's gate the last 3 cylinders

So I'm debating the mystery switch install since I'm laid off for the next few....days weeks whatever. Does anyone have a video of actually driving using a mystery switch. Not the install. That actual daily driving on camera. Think that'll help the wife understand when BusterBrown starts leaving packages on the porch.

Can someone explain to me what P0521- Engine oil pressure sensor performance, means in english? As I was leaving work today My check gauges light came on and I had no oil pressure according to the gauge. I pulled over as fast as I could and shut the truck off, after restarting it I had normal oil pressure again, and it was fine the entire way home.

[TABLE=class: page, width: 100%, align: center] [TR] [TD][TABLE=class: tborder, width: 100%, align: center] [TR] [TD=class: alt1, bgcolor: #F5F5FF]I thought I would throw out my experience with the setup and the company. I ordered an Assassin Pump from DTT several months ago and I knew it would take me a little while to receive as DTT informed me of a few changes taking place with the pump. All the same I was extremely anxious to get my hands on the pump. Being a common logic/mechanical thinker I felt the mechanical pump would be a great addition to my system for its simplicity and performance capabilities. I received my pump and I was immediately impre…

Check out the video we shot after installing the custom 47RE that I built for Dynomite Diesel Products. This project that they are doing might be of interest to all of the 2nd Gen guys on here. This particular truck is a 1997 with a 12 valve (and 16K original miles!), but many of the concepts will apply to the 24 valves as well. It might be fun to follow along as they do their turbo testing and fueling mods in stages, all while documenting everything with actual dyno numbers. It might help a lot of guys avoid some of the pitfalls and poor setups that we see out there.

I know there has been talk about how few times an ECM goes out, not to worry about the engine heat and where it's mounted and so on. Except isn't it getting harder to find a good reliable one? Getting it flashed properly can be a problem also, I've heard. Then you have a few ECM rebuilders/ repair companies sending off faulty units. Sometimes being a crap shoot trying to get a good one. Some have reported bad experiences while their truck sits for days sending units back and forth till they get one that works. Now I have been Googling engine heat, ECMS and problems... finding reports about how heat does affect them. One ECM supplier reporting that the engine heat is the bi…
