Thought I would ask the masses out there what would be the best route to take on my truck if all I am looking for is long term reliability, with enough horsepower to pull a camp trailer over a hill. Not interested in burning the tires off, or doing wheelies. Just want to put the modifications on that will give me the best bang for my buck in terms of mileage and performance. I started on the 2 cycle oil, and know I need to get a fuel pressure gauge to go along with my idiot light. Don't know anything about the Edge or tuning packages that you guys use, but want to make sure that I don't buy myself a headache trying to get a few more horsepower. Only had the truck for 6 mo…

Hey guys I have a 125s in my truck right now, with compound turbos, I feel like my 125s aren’t quite enough to spool the turbos very well. Turbos are a BWs364sxe and a BWS475. Any help with figuring what size injectors I should go with. Was thinking 200s

I have a fass 95 that was put on in October of 2013. After about a month my fuel pressure will start bouncing all over the place. I call fass to do some troubleshooting and they send me a new ball and spring for the return line to the tank. I am on my 3rd ball and spring in this short time. It is not my daily driver. I only average about 5000 mile a year with most of them being summer miles. The first couple of times that I have change the ball and spring I had to take the diesel bath. This time my return line was dry. Is the pump working properly? I don't understand what is going on. I plan on calling them tomorrow but want to see if anyone else has had this problem or …

***I see this may not be posted in the correct subforum, probably should be in the Quadzilla vendor area but not sure how to delete and move it, mods?*** Hello all, I've been fiddling with tuning on my truck ever since I did the initial build with DDP 150s and a stage 1 GT3782R turbo I got cheap on eBay and fabbed into the truck. Loved the turbo sound but blew it up recently as it was on borrowed time at 40psi with 150s. I just did another round of work on it (build list below) and am at a loss on where to start with tuning as none of the tunes in the tune library run well at all on the truck. I've read and reread a ton of posts on tuni…

Just want to say thanks in advance. This is my first post on here but have been a member for a while now. But I’m looking for some help and I have not tried searching all that much as my setup is different than most. For some reason I can’t get any better than 13mpg out of my truck. Truck info is in my sig. I am running 35x12.50 Toyo Mts on 20x10 Fuels. It has 3.55 gearing too. I am running the dd tune that’s for trucks with 50-150hp injectors but I have changed a couple things on it. Idk if it’s just the way things are setup but I hardly have any turbo lag and my truck runs good and hard but like I said I can’t for the life of me squeeze out any more than 13mpg. The truc…

I wish I had known about it sooner. It made a very noticeable difference in how the truck steers, it's much easier to turn my 35's now. Also replaced the seal on the sector shaft and flushed out all of the ATF +4 with actual power steering fluid. I'm also going to adjust the over-center screw as per the TSB to see if I can take up the minor amount of play I have.

So I have tried searching through posts on whats recommended. Ive been considering an edge monitor or pillar guages. I'm not really sold on quad because of connectivity issues and not having another device besides my phone to use. I use phone for music and handsfree so bluetooth would be tied up anyway. My questions with edge are; do they really monitor fuel pressure if so would it be before the injection pump where it matters? Also if it doesn't I'm assuming thats going to add to the price when you are already at 560 with monitor and EGT probe. I was also looking into diesel manor guage sets because they seemed pretty comprehensive but reviews lea…

I keep hearing how this turbo may be laggy . Yanking equipment trailer at 18k it builds at the same rate I push the pedal. I have smarty on 9 tm3 timing 4 duration 3. I am slightly worried about timing on 4 but it doesn't seem to be problem. I actually used to change timing to stock when I towed but decided to run it. Smoke isnt horrible much better than timing at stock. Just thought I'd share incase otheres on the fence . Turbo has been one my best mods. It flat just works I could do without the smarty and be happy Cool egts and getting decent fuel mileage Now I need …

I just got a southbend dual disk installed in my truck with southbend hydraulics. After talking to some guys about injectors and reading on here and various other forums I decided to go with a set of DAP new bosch 125hp SACs. I would like to know which turbo size would be better to run for this amount of fuel. I was going to go with small twins but after my other truck got totalled, the clutch job, and buying a 1998 jeep to replace the totalled truck, I'm getting short on cash so I'm sticking with a single. Budgeting around 1,500 for turbo and downpipe. I've decided on a borg warner SX-E 57/65/12or14 61/65/14 or a 62/68/12or14. I know that I could probably go bigger wit…

I saw some oil drips on the road when I wet to the post office this morning. Looked under my truck (just to make sure it wasn't me) and to my surprise I had a big puddle under my truck. Had about 40 miles since I changed paper. The clamp came loose and popped off and oil was coming out between the can and base. Limped home and tried to tighten the filter, but it seems that it had expanded with oil and pressure. Would not re-seal. So I installed a new roll and now seems to be fine. But now I'm paranoid about it starting to leak again on a long trip leg and pumping out all the oil. Any words of wisdom? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

i have been chasing a problem on my truck for a while now and it has cost me alot of money. i have noticed a difference in my truck for a while now and have replaced just about everything. my truck does not seem to have the same umff it use to have. my throttle does not have that load on it like it use to have. it does not pull hard like it use to. my boost numbers are lower(47 max with wastegate hose plugged). i use to be able to hit 58. its a combination of everything and it is driving me nuts. here is a list of stuff i have replaced: vp44, timbo apps, neighbors whole tps, map sensor, iat sensor, trans sensor, no boost leaks, 3 different injector sets, swapped out diffe…

I couldn't find a way to mount my tablet that i liked so i made one. Got a tablet mount from Wal-Mart online for about $9 that is for bike handlebars. 2 1/2" conduit clamps, about a foot of gray electric conduit and a 90° elbow. I didn't glue the elbow so it will rotate and can be easily removed. My center seat is a sub box & I screwed it to the front edge. Works great, really stable. Also works good for a phone holder.

Ok so on my 99 cummins there is nothing that says what fluid should be in my p/s pump. Can't find my owners manual. So I looked on here at downloads and they don't give a fluid spec. So next thing was google. Some people are using Lucas or atf +4 or whatever. I have a bottle of plain ol valvoline p/s fluid but is that right? Thanks.

I had to smog my truck on Saturday and the tech told me I passed, but barely. then he told me to check my exhaust myself next year. I asked him how should I do this? he said "snap the gas and check the tail pipe for smoke". As I was trying not to laugh, I asked the tech - what if it smokes what should I do? He said you should definitely take it to the dealership. Funny thing, my truck is completely stock, and brought it to him hot and it doesn't smoke. I think he was concerned over my mileage. So to prepare for this next time around, does anyone have a good cat from a 2nd gen 24v they want to sell? oh, and don't forget to snap your gas!

My question before I screw myself is, WILL THE 02 WORK IN A 99. Got a hell of a deal and don't wanna find myself upside down in this deal.

Just replaced vp44 because I install quadzilla adrenaline and 2 days later I started truck and no power. Truck wouldn't make more than 5 psi boost. Everyone said it was vp44. But now truck is still the same. I was making 25psi without tuner. I have newer map sensor and I reset apps. Please help...... I am well versed with a voltage meter.

I'm moving to Eastern Idaho in the very near future and was wanting to upgrade my stock injectors for a little more "I think I can" power, for the Teton mountain range. I talked to a fellow at DAP about some 7x0.0085VCO injectors and he said I would be fine with stock HX35. But if I wanted to upgrade the turbo he suggested a Screaming Eagle 62/68/12 turbo. I've done a few web searches and all hands back his statement that I'd be fine, even running my smarty. For those of you who live in the mountains what are your opinions? I'm open to suggestions, as long as its not BD parts. I don't anticipate towing much over 8000 pounds.

As you may or may not know.. I traded my comp box for a smarty. I am happy with how the smarty works for daily driving but miss the get up and go of the comp. So.. I'm thinking about picking up another comp box and trying a stack. What do I need to know? I know about running the smarty on even numbers. What would be decent settings to run both together? Is it hard on things?
