Last week Threadzy was kind enough to send me his used 8-blade HX35. I should receive it today (I'll get you paid today for the shipping, @Threadzy!). I want to build this turbo for the sense of satisfaction, even if it costs a little more than buying a different one. I don't golf, I don't spend money on hunting, so if I want to spend some money in a silly way, I chalk it up to "hobby". Now, it's an absolute waste of money I'm willing to find the next sucker and pass it along! On to my questions if this isn't a terrible idea... I know it needs a wastegate actuator. Is there a preferred brand/style/vendor? I'm not wanting to spend $200, but am willing to ste…

So last week I installed a set of 7x10 injectors. I am thoroughly impressed with them but they make me nervous with my stock HY35. I'm traveling for work right now and happened on a good deal on an HX35 off another 01. I scooped it up because of the price. No shaft play and looks pretty good. From what I've read this should be a direct swap for the HY. Is there anything else I may need? I'm planning on hauling my fifth wheel back home Friday and may try to install in the hotel parking deck. I'm sure they will love that! The HX should have lower EGT's than the HY correct? Thanks!

Having issues guys. Running a s467.7 on a steed speed t4 manifold. I have changed the exhaust housing to a .90, changed converter stall, tried to pull fuel out with tuning. Still no goose. On a side note the truck feels like it his a brick wall when the light throttle timing advance drops out on the Quadzilla. 74DC9F3A-BF7D-41AD-BBCC-07AE51BE7EC2.mov

I’m getting set to add some HP to my ‘01-2500 (vehicle details in my ‘Garage’), and I would greatly appreciate some suggestions about what might best fit my application in the way of injectors and a turbo. I use the truck for towing and hauling, and as a daily driver. I frequently am around 13,000 GVW when hauling, and sometimes close to 25,000 GCW when towing. I am not going to be pulling sleds or putting the truck on a track, and I’m not interested in high-RPM pulls. I very rarely hit 3000 RPM, and generally keep it below 2500. I am interested in a setup that spools quickly, has good mid range boost and power, has a decent top range, doesn’t …

Looking for injector/turbo upgrade for strictly towing. End goal is compounds but, id rather keep 5k into rebuilding the 200k mile engine if it needs it. I just purchased a 40' 2 car trailer that i use for my hobby demo derby and i will make multiple trips to New York to drop southern clean cars from my state of Florida to my brother. Ive upgraded a bunch on the truck since i bought it not even 9 months ago. I used Me78569 stock injector towing tune and it was great but was getting into 1250 on the egt temp gauge and Florida is super flat up north with the huge hills and grades i think turbo will be a issue. Most research ive done says a 62/68/12 is what i need with 100+ …

Looking for some of your opinions on matching injectors and turbo for moderate to heavy towing. I tow alot at 10-15k and occasionally 15-20k mostly hay and cattle. I have done a fair amount of research on this topic but haven't come to a decision yet. I've heard good things about the BW screaming eagle turbos. Im considering 100 hp dap injectors. I'm still running the stock turbo and injectors at 100k miles. I have to pull the ex manifold because the previous owner broke a drill bit off trying to install the pyro. Any opinions on a replacement manifold? 2001 6spd Thanks for your help/opinions

So I was going throught paperwork in my glove box. Owners manual and the like and came across this document. The manufacturer recommended tire pressure for several situations and configurations. I scanned the documents with my phone and thought I'd post it here since there have been several conversations about this.

we have had several discussions here about coolant temp here. i for one have had a problem keeping the temp up for quite a while. i have replaced t stats only to see them work for a short period. i finally replaced my radiator cap and that seemed to work. but about a month ago the same problem came back. i replaced the t stat again with one from napa. this one did nothing differant. on initial warm up the temp will go to 190 then drop down to about 165 and bounce around 165 and 175 in town or on the highway. it has been like that for a long time. i just installed my AD 165 and on initial start up it warms up to 190 and stays there just like it used to. what in the world w…

Do we have an updated chart if fluids that reflect improvements since our trucks were built? Like my owners manual from 2001 recommends ATF+3. And it seems that ATF+4 is now recommend. Be nice to have a consolidated chart for all fluids that reflect current advances in fluid technology.

I've got 75hp sticks and the edge comp. 5x5 gives me 120 horsies. That puts up there in the horse range, but my turbo is not going to use that much to make all that power. I would like to better match this with a turbo but have no idea which one would be right for me? I would like to shy away from having to do head studs, etc.I'm also hoping it will raise my mpg's back up as well? I do plan on an exhaust brake and I dunno if a 4" exhaust would be worth doing either?
