Being I'm doing the bicycle riding for my health. I will admit that my blood pressure from the day I went in for my surgery I've managed to knock it way down. I'm still considered high but nowhere near what I was. Now the app I was using comes on my phone which is LG Health. It does track everything ONLY if you pack your phone around every where. I tend to leave my cell phone in my bedroom on home days. That doesn't track my daily movements. I went out and got cheap china made watch with heart rate monitor. Letscom Neat little watch battery life that is a full 7 days. Alerts from your phone. Then I can download the data of my travels to my cellpho…

Id like to hear everyones views on why they chose what they did and why they like one or the other better. Please no getting worked up about someones truck being better than the other! I personally dont have a huge opinion. I chose a Cummins Turbo Diesel because thats what my family has always had and they have done well. I think that Ford built theyre trucks a bit tougher as far as frame, transmission, front end, etc. I work on Ford Powerstrokes everyday and they are really pretty good trucks especially the 7.3 trucks. I think if you have the money to spend you can make the 6.0 and 6.4 trucks very reliable and theyres no doubt that they can make insane power. I really l…

I thought I would post up some photos of the frozen landscape around here. For yaw to enjoy. Its been in the single digits and the lagoons are about 2" thick currently. Its been fairly cold enough out to freeze over the salt water and the cedar water around here. For salt water it tends to start freezing around 15-20 F out, standing water is closer to 25-30. But the tide movement breaks up the ice on its own when it cycles between 32 and above, etc. I was having a discussion with @Mopar1973Man the other night on the phone about the salt water, and its been years since I've seen Great Bay freeze up like it has to where it's thick enough to withstand the wave action and ti…

As of right now I'm planning on making a 300 mile trip from Boise ID up to the tri-cities area in Washington to meet Marcus and get a dash core from him. Upon mentioning this to some people I've heard to be careful in the Blues mountains. While the trip should only take a day, I was already planning to get a set of chains, bring my jump pack, some blankets and provisions just in case things get hairy and I've always got some basic tools and fluids in the truck. Is there anything else I should be worried about? I'm not really worried about the truck, it's never let me down before, just more worried about unfamiliar territory.

So I bought my 2nd Gen from a dealer in Arizona. When fabricating some interior parts I discovered 2 receipts from the previous owner. 1 had a last name, the other had a town. I googled it and found the address in no time. I asked my wife what she thought about me sending a self addressed stamped envelope to them with some questions about the truck. She said that was completely not ok. What is the general consensus on that?

Sad but true case about aftermarket diesel tuning. I for 1 will never guarantee my work on a vehicle equipped with aftermarket programming. I've seen too many windowed engine blocks of newer CR diesels like the Power Joke 6.4 and 6.7, Cummins 5.9 and 6.7, and all models of the Dirtymax from broken connecting rods which I'm 110% convinced too far advanced injection timing caused.

I was thing about @JAG1 on this one since he is a fellow wood butcher. We put new cabinets in the kitchen a good while back and had 6" space needed filling. The spice rack the manufacturer offered back then was about $600. I said no way and built my own. So here it is. I hate the drawer pull but wife would not let me put a door pull on it. All in all it still turned out nice and I only have $75 in it.

@JAG1 hasn't been able to log on to post due to computer/internet problems so he asked me to due it for him. From JAG1: W-T' called me just before Christmas and asked to have a post or thread put up about his situation with the fire in Paradise, Ca. He wants to let everyone know he is okay. His house only suffered about 15 k in damage on the back side and is heat damage only as nothing really burned. The windows are melted, glass is broken, Siding everything on that side of the house is either cooked or showing heat damage. His two garages however, were completely destroyed. One of the shops, I think 1800 sq. ft. was the one with every piece of…

The wife and I have decided to move back North to Colorado. A little story of what brought us back to the town I was born and raised in..... About 14 months ago we moved to my home town to help take care of my 58 year old father that has been battling cancer. At 52 years old he was diagnosed with neck cancer which he beat with numerous chemo and radiation rounds. He remained healthy for a bit after treatment. At 54 years old he started becoming nauseated when working with his arms above his head. A trip to the doctor found he had developed lung cancer. Rounds of chemo and radiation put the lung cancer into remission. He was starting to put weight back on all w…

Happy new year to all of you, drink much, be merry, and don't drink and drive. I'm currently on my way home, but battling old man winter and hit frozen scrotum of cold misery in Wyoming (just went through Newcastle) in a friend's 2007 Chevy Trailblazer with sketchy tires and a trailer. Pray to whatever Gods you follow I make it, and can get a damn tcase for my clapped out pile. Vaya con Dios amigos!

So I've been wring in my PacBrake into my dodge and i want to install a dryer into the system. But I'm have problems with designing and then where to buy the parts to do this. Does NAPA carry this stuff, or where do you guys go to pick up air line fittings and hose for trucks? The set up that Pacbrake has may work great in Arizona, but up here in NJ and PA I don't need frozen lines on an exhaust brake.

This engine has cylinders 1,2, and 5 showing scoring in the liners and piston skirts from what I can tell from the limited inspection done with the oil pan off. Customers complaint was it uses a gallon of oil every 400 miles and a lot of blow-by. This engine has 1.4 million miles on it.
