  1. Alligator Diesel in Northern Idaho sells a ISSPro Fuel pressure gauge for about $43 bucks. Never did like electric gauges.
  2. Should not have to do the APPS ground wire mod. Also if this is correcting the WAIT TO START issue you have a bad ground for the ECM.
  3. Exactly what I got here for indoor use. Then I got a torpedo style for the shop...
  4. Just for fun I stopped by the tire shop and got some quotes of tire prices... LT285/75 R16 Cooper Stampede A/T $896.00 LT285/75 R16 Cooper Mud Claw M/T $1,064.00 LT285/70 R17 Nitto Crosstek $1,188.00 (50,000 mile tire)
  5. It would do the job but the problem is as you vent it wildly like that now you got to drain the oil from the system and remeasure it. Because you have no idea how much PAG oil has now been blown out of the system. So if you have manifold gauge set and a vacuum pump you can slowly and controlled vent the freon without venting much oil from the system. Too little oil will damage the compressor. Too much oil will put excessive strain on the compressor.
  6. We got a Big Buddy heater as well for a fall back heater source in case of wood stove issues (chimney plugged up, lack of wood, etc.) I've never used one through the night but we've used it for a about 1 winter chasing the bitter cold mornings and then shutting it down. No issues here. Like its also nice for the shop for those day I just need some quick heat and don't want to fire up a wood stove. Also have a torpedo propane heater as well.
  7. WARNING! There is roughly 90-100 PSI in the system if you release a line it will exploded with freon and oil. I typically just use a manifold gauge set and vacuum pump and draw a vacuum on the system slowly. Opps... Looks like I'm missing a bit of artwork from the old site yet.
  8. 3 Tanks? Wow that is a rare truck. Even my old 72 was a dual tank truck with electrical solenoid valve... Multi-tank truck are rare any more.
  9. The only thing is you need the dealer DRBIII tool to flash a used ECM or a new ECM because they are sold blank.
  10. Yes for a A-pillar pod or steering column pod. Just the overhead console is too far on this set of leads. Also Ed has informed me he will be making a version to install in the over head console. (Coming soon)
  11. I personally don't get wrapped up with all the hype of synthetic oils. I look at what standard the engine needs to meet and for lubrication and give it that. So if the API Standard calls for CI-4 or CJ-4 engine oils that what it needs. As for weight of oil this gets rather messy but the first number xxW with the W stands for winter or (cold start) this is viscosity the oil will behave like at cold temps. The second number is the viscosity of the oil when at normal operation temperature. More here. (Attached file) engineoilguide_march2010.pdf
  12. Now that you making me think a bit I've got a friend that has a 1992 Dodge that had a really bad slipping clutch but come to find out it was mostly caused by a leaking tappet cover gasket or valve cover gasket. Once the oil leak was stop the clutch slippage problem seem to go away as well.
  13. Suggestion send them to Dorkweed he's another fellow bird hunter...
  14. Dave it looks like you having a time of your life there... Christmas came and it went here very quietly. No snow really. But it was a very quiet Christmas here.
  15. With 3 Cylinder mode if you trigger it you can flip over to MPG mode shortly after triggering and allow it to finish warming up. Since 3 cylinder is not a hled mode you can flip back to MPG at anytime. It only 6 cylinder mode if you wanted to hold the high idle extended period then you would have to leave it on 6 cylinder.
  16. Merry Christmas all... So what are you all doing for Christmas day and what kind of gifts did you get? Just a nice quiet day out here in the mountains of Idaho and cold morning temps to kick of the day.
  17. Suggested to constant +12V power to alert you that fooler is on and should be switched off. Or you can have it on the key so it can be left in a fooled position without the light always burning. Or... Completely ignore this wire and not hook it up and no light will ever come on. Your choice. But let me tell you that if you opt for constant 12V it will take many many weeks to wipe out a pair of batteries. I leave my cellphone charger in the truck and its got a bright blue LED that glows anytime the charger is plugged in and no issues with that. So I doubt there is any issues with high idle tiny LED.
  18. Heck stock clutch and Edge Comp tends to rip the hubs out of the friction plate. But now with Southbend Con OFE solid as a rock. Since I'm a manual guy mostly I tend to be very watchful of my left foot and keep it away from the pedal when not needed. I've a got a pair here I wear daily. Hawthorn's fire rated boots. No problems with work boots.
  19. Cause. It caused by a ECM that is having trouble booting up. On board memory errors or other types of errors that prevent the system from coming on line and getting the Wait To Start light lit. Till the software is fully booted up it can't do anything including cycling the lift pump, light the wait to start, or even getting grid heaters running. It brain dead till the light comes on. Fix. ECM replacement...
  20. Yeah no kidding congrads on the upgrade for a truck.
  21. I have to agree... That rotor is ready for the scrap heap. Time for new rotor(s). Now I have to say it looks like the slide pins have seized up on you causing the problem of dragging the one pad against that one side constantly.
  22. Last time I heard about RockAuto ECM's they take your ECM and attempt to rebuild the ECM so it might be awhile for the turn around. Call them first and check it out before doing anything.
  23. On the 1997 I just did I placed the truck in park and on the driver side of the frame near the fender is a pivot and a adjustment of the rod. Loosen the clamping bolt and slide the rod/clamp up or down to adjust so both are in park fully.
  24. I guess its time to call BlueChip again. It's still under warranty.
  25. Typically what kills ECM is AC noise from the alternator. (Watch the video below in the link) As for the delay in the wait to start as the ECM has trouble getting booted up from memory errors its still brain dead so just twisting to start and trying to start without a booted ECM is going to do absolutely nothing. Kind of like pressing power switch on your PC and grabbing the mouse in hopes to fire up internet before for it boots up. Just not going to happen. So for here on out you need to wait for the wait to start light to pop on then you can start. Suggestion is check the alternator and consider replacing the ECM soon. If you want to test the ECM just swap it with a friends truck if the problem swap to his truck the ECM is failing.
