  1. To some degree maybe... Won't know till you decide to rebuild the gear box. Then you would see all the damage.
  2. I would check you power steering fluid and see what the color of the fluid is. Typically if you flush the power steering fluid every 30k miles you never have a issue with the bearing on the output shaft and won't require the brace either. I'm at 224k miles and zero need for brace. But also the fluid is clean in the steering box. Once the fluid starts to break down the metal parts seem to start to wear kind of like not doing oil changes.
  3. I'm right there with Wild & Free as well I spend a majority of time on dirt roads. The only paved road here is US95 everything else is dirt even in most towns are dirt city streets. Like now I've got those stick on rocker panels and now regretting putting them on. Because of exactly the reason Wild & Free mention that look cool and nice when clean but I can see where the mud is going to attack the body eventually. So I do everything I can to prevent mud and salt to stand on the body so I make sure to rinse the body down weekly if possible with water to remove any caked up mud and salts. I've consider pulling them off too but I know the huge mess it will be getting all that sticky goo off the rocker panels now.
  4. For the EGT's. Now for the boost gauge...
  5. On several of the upper end trucks they have procedures to set and disarm features. You might have to contact a dealer on this I'm sorry I don't have the information for you. But if you do find a answer could you bring it back and share with us?
  6. This is one of my weakness too. About once a year or so I typically tweak my back live the lower back pain or pinched nerve for at least a month. I'm just now about healed up from my last adventure. I've learn a few things. Don't use pain killers or anything like that. You body is giving you the pain message because you doing something to damage it more. You have to figure out another way of doing things or limit the amount of time that is painful. During these period I typically have to get a hot shower and do several minutes of stretching and twisting to get relief for the day. By the end of the day I'm sore and hurting again. So back in the hot shower and stretch again before bed. Back injuries take lots of time to heal. That isn't good you might have to see a doctor at that rate...
  7. Correct the Voltage regulator is indeed in the PCM.
  8. Heck of a vacation trip you had there and its pretty fall colors over there on the East side of the island. Shoot I wish I would had my camera with me yesterday and shot a pic of Pollock mountain with its snow cap.
  9. Too bad there isn't any pictures of the front of the engine at tear down.
  10. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6385&d=1384951711&thumb=1 It's the crankshaft where you see the 4 holes at the bottom of the gear case.
  11. The reason why you not barring the engine over with the VP44 nut its 2:1 ratio so it would require even more torque to twist it over and most likely strip the nut out or break something where the alternator pulley is rather small and doesn't require huge amount of torque to twist it. Not to mention if you try to spin to hard the belt will slip.
  12. OMG...:duh:I know better to get my wood in the spring of the year and get in split and stacked by mid summer so it can season out for the last half of summer. I'll admit I'm still splitting wood today but that wood is not going to the shed to be burned now. This wet stuff is being staked under a tree and tarped to allow it to dry for the winter months. So by early spring I'll have dry wood to use. Oh yeah... My 046 Stihl or my 461 Stihl can make short work of that pile in even less time...PS: I didn't even watch the full video...
  13. Since I'm normal packing yes I would defend a pat or love one from a idiot. Not exactly have to shoot to kill but just the sight of the firearm typically keeps idiots at bay. No. I normal do NOT conceal the firearm either.
  14. Same here just use a metric socket on the alternator pulley and turn it to the left or backward rotation till you get your TDC or BDC of the VP44 gear.
  15. First you would have to balance the budget like all of have to do with our personal lives and then you would see the clock slow down or even stop for a bit.
  16. Here is more information on the CCD Network. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/general-cummins/34-engine-system/81-ccd-data-bus You should get 2.49 and 2.51 volts at the OBDII when the bus is functional.
  17. Check the CCD BUS voltage. It should be 2.49 and 2.51 at the OBDII port. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/general-cummins/34-engine-system/81-ccd-data-bus
  18. You got to check this out...
  19. I'm not worried here. Diesel is kept on a leash when ever he's outside.
  20. I question is why would the VP44 of lost prime if you remove the ECM? I the fuel system wasn't mess with like VP44 replacement or injectors there should be any reason to reprime? :shrug:Should be unplug one ECM and plug in the new ECM and start.
  21. Hmmm... 90% of the time its a speed sensor issue I would go around and double check all the speed sensors for good connections.
  22. Like Flagmanruss is saying.Say that the battery on the driver side is staying excessive cold then battery temp sensors reports back to the PCM cold battery and increases charging voltage. Then the other battery which is most likely boiling and hot is on the passenger side. Because a hot battery would cause the charge voltage to fall and be lower.
  23. It always helps to remove the electronics from the engine first before changing sensors. All so often I find Edge modules throwing weird code but with the module gone the problems are gone. You might talk to Ed Grafton (Yankneck696) about your Quadzilla he might be able to fix it for you.
  24. I gather its a electric gauge if so the sender failed you while ago. Neither are normal. I would verify with a mechanical gauge. Electrical gauge are prone to failure without the owner knowing as the sender takes on water hammer pulses it starts to either drift higher or lower in pressure or stick. Even my truck I see 1-2 PSI drop from idle to WOT and also see pressure changes with fuel temperature colder is lower and hotter is higher.
