fuel presure. quick question
I'm using a mechanical gauge but just plumbed directly to the gauge with air brake line. Exactly what all the big over the truck use for plumbing for air, oil pressure and other gauges. Soft copper tubing is known for flex failures so that why I typically warn against copper tubing usage. Most people get carried away and use steel braided lines which is total over kill and typically very difficult to route in the dash. Where air brake line is oil and fuel ready and with a needle valve if the line should leak it will not spray but merely drip and a fast pace. If a line was to fail and start to leak trust me you'll smell it for sure. At that point just shut the needle valve and continue till your travels till you home where you can fix it. My past history with old school nylon tubing it will work but the nylon gets brittle under the hood and typically gets broke while working on the engine. I normally broke mine are at the compression fitting. After getting tried of that I found air brake line and never had a single problem after that.

Happy Thanksgiving
Strange but true... But mostly lean meat and veggies and drop as much salt (sodium) out of your diet. I cut back soda pop to occasionally drink mostly water and fruit juice. I normally don't eat breakfast till about 10-11am some days skipped completely on the breakfast and eat a light lunch. Then dinner back to the meat and veggies. My highest weight was 235-240 pounds. Now as of today 205 pounds hoping to break under 200 soon.Sure make it nice when you doing search and rescue or fire dept work and not packing all that body mass.

might 'dip toes' into toyota's water.....
That the weird thing in ranching or farm country trucks tend to hold there value for a long time. But now in the cities the value seems to fall for some weird reason. Texas being one of the lowest priced spots.

Happy Thanksgiving
Last time on the scale I weighed out at 205 lbs. I've lost my spare tire and my pants are falling off me now. I wear suspenders just to keep my britches from falling down with a fire radio, multi-tool, and a 9mm pistol on my hip.I'm not doing T-day here. Just going to be another day for me. Our neighbor down the road just stopped in with dinner rolls and blueberry pie. (Yummy!)So far my morning I loaded my trailer full of old stuff from the attic and haul it to the dump. I got to admit it was nice to drive the diesel for the first time in nearly a month now. Fuel light is on and nearly out of fuel.

My 92 is a real 'dog' most the time except When cold outside... What could be wrong??
Yes. There is a diaphragm right on top mark its position it came out. Then pull straight up. It might hang up on the fuel pin push it down and then pull back up. Then you get it out and be able to clean and lube the pin again. Check the wear of the pin as well. Turning the pin position will either steepen the fuel ramping or make it milder. Here is a modified pin... Here is stock to wild. Under the cover.. https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS3lwyi8v6uRkvmU0uJ2WtOk8yr35H_Gy47qoe2F7CQ-YUaYCVZiQ

Questions about Shell "Fit" diesel
Cetane thing has always been viewed like octane higher the better. Thats backwards. Right out of the ASTM testing labs documents for Cetane. The ASTM Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils (D-975) states, "The cetane number requirements depend on engine design, size, nature of speed and load variations, and on starting and atmospheric conditions. Increase in cetane number over values actually required does not materially improve engine performance. Accordingly, the cetane number specified should be as low as possible to insure maximum fuel availability."

Scangauge II or SG Diesel?
Man... I need to pull mine out and have it shipped back for flash programming...

Happy Thanksgiving
Staying at home and having a quiet T-Day with MoparMom. Like Stodg73 I'll be monitoring the fire radio.

My 92 is a real 'dog' most the time except When cold outside... What could be wrong??
Yes. Its controlled by the IAT sensor and connected with the Fuel cutoff solenoid. The under the cap where the smoke screw and the starwheel is at will contain a diaphragm, spring and a fuel pin. The star wheel sets the prelod on the spring vs. boost. The fuel pin should be marked before removing because is ca be tuned by twisting. You'll see the offset of the pin when removed. My buddies 92 had dried up grease on it and tend to stick. After clean up and re-lubing it worked fine.

Vacation Pics
It would be nice to meet a lot of you but everyone is so far away. I'm going to try and at least run up north and tag Hex0rz and shake a fellow family member hand some day.

Brake pad replacement?
Roughly about $1200... Problem is that you only get exhaust brake in 3rd and 4th gears. now if you modify the Valve Body you can get 2nd gear lockup and exhaust brake in in 2nd gear. Strange thing I bought mine back when the truck was barely a year old and only paid $700 for my Jacobs Brake.
-
Brake pad replacement?
I typically buy the absolute cheapest pads so to get the least amount of metallics in the pads. Being I use a exhaust brake for 95% of my braking and the service brakes at speeds typically below 25 MPH. I got 185k from the OE pads and only needed to turn barely 0.005 to 0.010 inches of the rotors.

fuel presure. quick question
Water hammer killed the sender. Really common for electric gauges to fail within about 1-2 years without water hammer protection.

Unraveling Sandy hook
Like one person ask about the Hazmat clean up blood from the shooting and was asking the Fed's about it and no one could tell anyone them if there was certified crew (the company name) was sent out to that school to clean up the blood. Maybe because there wasn't any blood? Maybe there wasn't any shooting?

Transitioning the "work truck" into My Daily Driver... Upgrades? Areas of Concern?
The stock 140 Amp alternator is fine its just the time required to properly charge batteries is extended as the batteries get colder. So like I try to do is get to a full cycle of engine temp so the batteries can warm up and then they will accept charge better and charge quickly then. Typically not required. But if you do install it make sure to check the battery electrolyte more often because on board trickle chargers will deplete the electrolyte sooner killing the battery for dry plates. So at least check once a month. I do as well I see -20*F to -30*F here in New Meadows, ID. I use to keep mine plugged in all the time in the shop. But no longer do this. Since my schedule is very random and never know from day to day if I will leave or not. As for being out in the back country over night and cold starting without block heater never had a single issue with it yet. The biggest thing is to make sure the batteries have had plenty of charge time before shut down. Make sure you fuel is up to the task before shutting down in a cold environment. Then other sub systems like grid heaters and battery cables must be in the peak shape. Just another day in paradise...

Air dog 150 not working fuel relay clicking
Yes. I've shimmed the regulator spring with a few proper sized washers and gained the pressure increase I needed.

Unraveling Sandy hook
It a nutshell the whole Sandy Hook was a Gov't scam (called a False Flag). Photos of kids doctored up, stories don't match up, video of people milling around but not actually working or doing any first responder duties. To this day no one ever seen the dead bodies or could ID them if it was real.

Questions about Shell "Fit" diesel
Rule of thumb higher the cetane lower the BTU's hence lower the MPG's. US regulations state that all fuel must meet the 520 HFRR score. It may or may not be improved or lower in score. Most all spec sheets I find state 520 HFRR for non-biofuels. http://www.shell.us/products-services/shell-for-motorists/fuels/diesel/shell-diesel-fit---fuel-injection-technology/how-does-new-shell-diesel-fit-provide-precision-protection-.html http://www.shell.us/products-services/shell-for-motorists/fuels/diesel/shell-diesel-fit---fuel-injection-technology/ten-questions-about-shell-diesel-fit.html I would assume being there is no other information its market hype. How much? Not stated.
