  1. Eric @ Vulcan is a good vendor for AirDog stuff and also supplier of fuel systems.
  2. Not to rub anyones nose in this... (trying to be respectful here) But this is one of the reasons I don't like any kind of washable media filters. Just can't tell if the filter is still holding up to the rated needs of the engine.
  3. Yes. The AirDog supplied wiring will use the factory harness to trigger a relay to power the AirDog 150. But remember do not directly hook the AirDog 150 pump motor to the ECM leads. This will cause damage to the ECM. So if your missing the wiring for it I would contact either Eric @ Vulcan Performance or Pureflow for a harness.
  4. I would contact Deborah again I'm sure shes got a few guys that have installed trans filters on there Dodge Ram before. You might ask her if you can get some contact information of some of these guys and see how they installed it.
  5. Sorry to say I wasn't there when the bear got hit. The neighbor wa the one that knew about it and the accident. Oh well...
  6. Not bad... Seems like your rather handy with tools...
  7. This is why I never bothered with the OEM fog lights knowing I could order 100w H3 bulbs (offroad) I knew the cheap plastic would melt so everything else was too expensive to have broken KC, PIAA, Light Force, etc. So my crazy idea to use what the local truckers use. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/general-cummins/35-exterior/131-fog-driving-lights
  8. ... a little compact car and totalled it.
  9. Very wicked spot lights but expensive. But very bright lights! I've seen a few of them now...
  10. The bear is dead... He got hit by a car last night about 9pm and fish and game put it down. Bear problem is solved for now...
  11. All right here... http://articles.mopar1973man.com/general-cummins/35-exterior/131-fog-driving-lights
  12. I know my 02 has all the wiring present and the socket ofr the fog lamp relay. Just got to hook up the lights, change the headlight switch, and insert the relay. I didn't like the stock lights so I went bigger. Four 100w aircraft landing lights that are controlled by the dimmer switch. 2 lights are hi beam and 2 light are lo beam. Great for this dark canyon I live in.
  13. :whistle:That morning when I left the house it was barely 42*F and then by the time I got up on the mountain it was just get up into the 40's for temp. There was small patches of snow around in the shadows. Well. By the time I got done it was about 68-70*F at the valley floor. I hauled that load home with the winter fronts in. IAT Temps never exceeded 127*F and the coolant never got over 197*F as soon as it did the fan locked and pulled it right back down to 195*F and unlocked. I'm not suggesting running them at those temps but if you get caught it won't kill the truck but be aware of your coolant and IAT temps if you do. But winter fronts start about the same time fire burning starts. For sure by October 20 because I install them then at the same time I shut-down the irrigation water. Winter front will remain in till April 15.
  14. 1. Water - Ours is from a well on the property and the irrigation water is drinkable as well.2. Electricity - We produce approximately 600 watts from our power system. Yes I've already slim down the house and can survive on 600w rather well. 3. Food - We've always got plenty on hand being we do most of our shopping in Boise, ID and bring it back in bulk so come winter time we don't have to drive long distance in the poor conditions of winter.4. Fuel - I've got secondary storage of fuel on the property for the just in case of emergencies. I've seen where the power goes out in the valley and there is no power or fuel for days. I've seen during major fire events the local fuel stations ration or being out of fuel. No surprise there.5. Security - Property now has the gate out front that give me that extra few more moments to see who it is and find out what they want. I normally keep the gate closed so "Diesel" alerts MoparMom and myself of someone opening the gate and then we are aware of what's going one. Most all know I'm a open carry person so my 9mm is still on my hip since I walked in the house.I guess I'm on top of my game...
  15. Always winterize mine with a full tank of fuel and no stabil. 20 plus years on my first saw and it barely needed a tune up after 20 years of service. So I'm going to bet the carb diaphragms are all shot being it was left empty and the ethanol ate them for a winter snack.
  16. Gives you an idea to what the product is made out of. Actually in 48 hours diesel will not evaporate very much because the xylene in the fuel is very small amount typically 0.1% at best. So doing sample of fuel additives like this give you idea of the lubricant in the products. Because if it got a true lubricant it will be left behind after the all the cetane boosters evaporate off (xylene, mineral spirits, naptha, napthalene, etc.). Because oils normally don't evaporate.
  17. Huh??? Anything under 100:1 ratio is too much or plain wasteful. 12V and 24V trucks 128:1 is normal dose CR Engines up to 2007 is 200:1 ratio is very safe. 2008 and up are to suggested unless all DPF, Cat, and EGR is removed. Clog the turbo? Umm you don't pour it in the turbo you pour in the fuel tank. The oil is completely consumed before entering the exhaust side of the turbo so turbo clogging is a Internet myth.
  18. Simple home lab results to find out. Take and pour 1 ounce of any product into a small open container. Then take 1 ounce of 2 cycle oil and pour it in a separate open container. Leave out for 48 hours. Now measure both products again and taking note of resulting substance. But I'll let you do the test for yourself.
  19. :rolleyes:Well here is the load I cut today. Worst yet I came home empty handed.
  20. Now I gotta hitch up the Cummins to that trailer and haul out another load of firewood today stay tuned!
  21. What's impressive is this little car with what 3" wide tires swimming through mud and everything does just fine. But now today trucks even NEEDS 12" wide 37" tall tires to just drive to the store on pavement. I think its awesome a vehicle built so tough it can be rolled over on its roof and righted again driven off again.
  22. Great cetane booster. http://www.schaefferoil.com/documents/40-137-msds.pdf
  23. Still not a issue. If you get one tank of winterized fuel it will not gel up at all. Even if it does your not driving it so your still safe and till will be fine by spring. Diesel fuel isn't gasoline where all the fuel actually evaporates. Diesel fuel will not evaporate and being its in a confined tank with a cap I doubt seriously there will be any issues.
  24. Not required either. All of our fire trucks here in the valley sit in sheds for months on end without any diesel fuel additives. All fire stations are minimally heated to 50-55*F all winter. Some truck rarely even see a fuel station like maybe once every 1-2 year because the fuel tank is 50 gallons or larger. Like my two fire trucks (Structure Engine and Wildland Engine) get driven to fire meeting once a month alternating trucks. I might put fuel in the structure engine once a year.
