  1. Right on we got a professional plumber to the resuce!
  2. So if you got DEF mode only then you have vacuum loss. Then you just check the vacuum lines from the vacuum pump towards the cab. The vacuum line enter the cab at the passenger side firewall. Cold to Hot controls is the stepper motor on the passenger side floor board. If you lay on the floor and look up at the bottom of the HVAC towards the trans hump you'll see the stepper motor. Common to break the plastic link or burn up the motor.
  3. Yeap your right... The vacuum pump is just forward of the power steering pump. There should be a vacuum line from there to all accessories. Mostly back inside the cab for HVAC controls. If there was a lack of vacuum the vents automaticaly set to DEF mode for safety. so if you can control placement of air then vacuum isn't a issues.
  4. Here is the books... http://forum.mopar1973man.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=2 The blend door is electric controlled not vacuum...
  5. I was hoping the PM I sent to the OP would bring him in to comment...
  6. On the passenger side of the cab near the trans hump there is a electric stepper motor that controls the blend door for heat and cold. Rather common to see failures with the step motor or the blean door itsself. There is a rebuild kit for the blend door but I don't have the information...
  7. Ok... Then I would check the rotors for being true. Then pull the calipers and check the slide pins (sleeves) and make sure there in good condition. Still double check the bearings just for safety sake.
  8. Here is my fuel pressure page. http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/2ndgen24v/fuel-pressure/fuel-pressure.htm Here is the HFRR testing and requirements of the VP44... http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/general/2-cycle-oil/hfrr/hfrr.htm Here is a tidbit on how to gain MPG's http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/general/better-mpgs/better-mpgs.htm Here is a great tool to teach you how to drive. http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/personal/2002/scangauge2/scangauge2.htm Any question on this???
  9. Ok... Becareful here... With the tire and everything mounted up. Jack up the axle and jack stand it. Then grab the bottom of the tire and try to rock it in on the top and out in the bottom and visa-versa... If there is any movement the bearing are done... But also be aware of if the ball joint are moving too.
  10. Ouch Russ... Sounds like the moisture and road salt really gets to everything. I know for you it might be tough for you to move around but it might be a idea it grab another family member (younger gen) and have them wash your rigs (body, under the hood, and under body). This would help in this problem. Of course you would have to teach them a little bit but it would help you in the long run. During the washing and such they could be looking for unusual leaks, wet spots, rusted or damaged parts, etc. Then if you arm them with a digital camera you can have them shot pics of the damage or leaks and you can see them without having to crawl under too... Just trying to think outside the box and give you the upper hand...
  11. Stealer... Try this... http://wsl.cummins.com/ServiceLocator/jsp/controller.jsp?action=changecountry
  12. Yes your correct about the IAT sensor is controlling it yes... As for what value to feed the IAT I'm not sure since there is no way of veiwing the information on the computer and seeing the temps the computer sees... If there is a way of bridging the two grid heaters together it might be a temporary fix...
  13. Hey now I resemble that comment... True I'm no where near a Big City or Large Town... The closest Wally World is about 120 miles one way. But remember if you take care of those batteries they will last you...:stir: (Remember mine are nearly 20 Years old!)
  14. Driving habit play a big role in the quest for MPG... I'm currently running stock injectors with a Edge Comp on 5x5 then BHAF and straight pipe exhaust and can pull good number (21-22 AVG then 25 MAX) with a few changes to driving habits... But I'm also looking at the RV275 for a nice mild boost of power and maybe a slight gain in MPG...
  15. Yeap they are the same sensor... Number 7 As for cost go to your local Cummins dealer for a better price I bought mine for like $75 buck and the adparter for the 02 wire to 01 sensor... Total cost of $130
  16. Ughhh... I know that it can get spendy some times...:ahh::eek:
  17. Now you wouldn't do that now would you? Well thankfully enough I got two great guys to watch over the forum and take care of that... Dorkweed http://forum.mopar1973man.com/member.php?u=7 ISX http://forum.mopar1973man.com/member.php?u=45 So even if I'm not here I'm sure someone will take of it...
  18. Well gang... Here is my last delimma... My Win Vista system has been running flawless for a ong time till... Error 1500 was been displayed all the time I tried to install of un-install a piece of software. There is a few causes...1. Make sure there is no other installations running. 2. Check the registry for a stuck enty pointing to a busy install. 3. Temp folder is corrupt. Well it came down to just killing my Win Vista and installing over again. It didn't seem to be any of the above problems. But it was a sure a registry problem of some sort. Nop matter what I used to check the registry it still never found the bad entry.. So here I'm back on the air but in limited means...
  19. Sorry gang I've been up and down most of the week. I had to deal with a registry error on my computer that controls installing/uninstalling software and so far I think I'm on the way out of my mess.
  20. Got any error codes? Its a good possibly that its a TQ Conv locking issue...
  21. How are the wheel bearings? It typical to hear a clicking noise and other strange things when a wheel bearing starts to fail... How about drive axle u-joints? http://forum.mopar1973man.com/profile.php?do=editsignature Filling in your signature would help a bunch...
  22. Or even a good 2 micron like on FASS and AirDog... Biodiesel or 2 cycle oil are good for the fuel system... But I've been looking at a set of injectors tips... RV275 for $99 bucks for a set of 6!!! But Now I can't find them...
  23. Really good there Dorkweed... But out here the ol' Well can be a be slow to fill the toilets... I'm lucky I got a old style toilet (1960's) in my bathroom but Mom's got one of those short flush jobbies...
