  1. Today i was told to junk my stealth cover.The unnamed man runs a shop.He has had a number of guys with problems.He told me to solder it.When i get my new pump i am going to think about it.Maybe thats your problem?
  2. Factory apps can go bad at any time.Check the tranny relay in the black box under the hood.Switch it with another and test drive it.

It has 4 ohms and needs 5 or more.I cleaned the ecm contacts.I will try again after church.It is the blue/black from the back of the apps going to ecm. ---------- Post added 05-16-2010 at 06:17 PM ---------- Previous post was 05-15-2010 at 09:16 PM ---------- I cleared the codes.What i am going to do is drive it again and see if the codes are in the ecm and pcm.The testing sheet you gave me says in the first step to see if the code is in both.I dont know because i cleared them.So i really dont know what step go to.
  4. Did you check the cover with a test light?Sometimes when you draw the set nut on the cover it pulls the screw away.Turn the key on and put a test light on the cover nut.Mine gave me some trouble at first.

The only speed sensors i know of is one on the tranny and center of the diff on the rear end.The 0500 i think is the rear end one.You may look into the tranny speed sensor.It is somewhere around 1 inch socket.Napa has them just a guess at 40.$$.Mine was broken on transport after a rebuild.Bummer because it was new.It was 1 year ago or so.I dont remember being real mad about the price.

I did drive it cold no code but it surges still.I am going to feel like the worlds biggest fool if i get a pump and it still does this.

My vp is going.I am driving it once in a wile.It surges bad.Today i have dead pedal every 1000 ft.It is giving me 117 and 122.The temp is fine and the apps check out good.( new timbo)Can the vp computer just freak out?The ecm seems fine nothing wierd.Have to park it until i can get new pump.My thinking here is the computer on the vp is trying to get info from the ecm and it does not compute because it is bad. What strange codes did you ever here of with a bad vp.Thanks.

I have a old hx 40.I will take a picture of what i am talking about.I dont think the auto makes a difference.I could be wrong.As you look at the front of the turbo if there is a tube instead of a hose ,i dont know how to "trick" that turbo into more boost.Maybe someone here can chime in and help us both learn more.Maybe there is a way?Now with a factory setup over lets say 45 lbs of boost can be flirting with disaster.You dont want to blow a head gasket .Mine let go around 55 lbs.Some will take more ,some less.You can still have fun at 35/40lbs.

  18. O.K. i get it now. I was thinking about Mr.Chip.The problem is who do you trust?I have spent a lot of time on the phone with Chip.He seems like a smart man not out to screw anyone.What he is doing to the pumps that the others are not ,i dont know.He is doing some research with some contraption that will make the pumps last longer.So he is a big player.Lots of people have his pumps.I hope i will be one soon.

I think this one would of sounded strange?When things go bad there is a list of things to check.I think what i said is on that list.Lp working (pumping fuel) or not it still has to be done.The lp could not be getting power.So you are overruled both of you:nono:. When diagnosing fuel problems the lp still needs power.Next would be flow.But i know what you both are saying and it is a good point:).If i dont prefill my fass it will have a hard time to prime it self.
  22. That happened to me.Gauge = 1/4 tank and i sucked it dry.Just needed fuel. I hope thats the problem.New pump is a bad day.On the other hand the lp could be bad.He should bump the key just to here if it is running.
  23. Is the turbo a hy or a hx 35??If it is a hx you can get a little more boost with a different brass elbo.I dont know if the hy can be helped.I dont know much about turbos.What do you want out of your truck.

  25. You also said dead pedal.Did the injection pump connection click when installed?Did you unhook the cam sensor with the pump install?Did you check to see if the apps is hooked up?A 99 have a crank sensor what about that?
