national cell phone ban
It is easier to think that someone else is at fault then to take personal responsibility of what happens to yourself. Our govt. spends more time telling us what we can and cannot do. They need to use all that time instead on getting us out of the mess we are in instead of making more of a mess!

My truck chugs random, HELP!!!
Not sure what year you have. Sounds like it is an automatic though. I know my tranny acts weird too if my batteries have bad connection or they are getting ready to go south.

ATF+4 Transmission Fluid
My dad was a diesel mechanic all his life. He use to tell me that they would put used oil and atf in the fuel tanks to get rid of it. But, I also remember him coming back from a Cummins seminar one time and saying eventually that would be a no no to do. The higher ups even knew years ago things would be changing with these engines.

I use a timer for 1 minute and the temps are usually at 300* when it shuts down.

Excel spreadsheet formulas
I don't understand what all this is! LOL I still use an old flip cell phone! If you get it to work that would be great. Thanks for working on it. --- Update to the previous post... Yea, I would just be changing the numbers thru line 22. Your right about the "if" formula, it does get rid of the info when you change the date. That is where I am stuck! I thought of making the 31 pages as well but (a) I thought this would be easier (b) I was trying to save time with entering the info © I am not the one that will actually be entering the info onto the spreadsheet, so I was trying to make it less confusing for the help!

Excel spreadsheet formulas
I NEED help from someone smarter than I with an Excel formula! I have my spreadsheet all completed except one formula. I have everything tied to a date and am wanting to save each days figures on the same spreadsheet. I was hoping that if I "saved" the sheet after each day it would keep the figures there that I wanted. But, once I put in a new date all of the info is lost. Anyone have any ideas?

Wrecked My Truck
Are you getting a "salvaged" title after you buy it back? Not that it will interfere with rebuilding the truck. But, it might make it harder to sell later.

Fuel pressure light
Ditto to the above posts! I would hate to think that I lost a $1000 pump because I wanted to save a few bucks for a light instead of a gauge! On top of that, just about everytime some one needs a problem diagnosed with the engine one of the first questions asked is" what are your fuel pressures at idle and WOT?" If you want him to continue to be your friend, PUSH him to a gauge!

Seafoam? Yes or No
NO. There was a thread on using Seafoam (maybe at CF?) and the posts all pretty much said the same thing. It is a no no for disels. That was enough for me!

97 Dodge Cummin Lift Pump Don't buy aftermarket
Cheap is not always good! Good is NOT cheap! Nothing wrong with an aftermarket part. Just depends where you get it at. That's what is nice about this forum! You get recommendations from everyone that posts here about parts!

Possibly an electrical issue
Just for kicks, you might check for any codes as well!

mystery vnet and belt tensioner

Lift pump is not powering up in the on position
I have mine wired to the alternator. Have not had any problems with it this way. That was the recommendation from the instructions when I installed it! p.s. IMHO There is NEVER a dumb question! Good luck!

Roadside Vehicle Inpections
I have never seen them in Utah or Oregon for non commercial vehicles. BUT, if your driving a commercial vehicle in Utah good luck! They will pull you over on the premise of a weight check and then they bring out the creeper and then you might as well call a mechanic before they get done with the inspection!

What are my options...
Have you tried getting the company to talk to their workers comp people? If they understand your problem they can put more pressure on the comp people. I have done that a few times with past employees and it worked for them.
