  1. Have you tried to remove the light switch from the connector and try to jump just the connections to turn on the lights?
  2. Have a great time! Bring LOTS of cash! My Brother went to Australia for business last summer (all expenses paid by the Ford Mustang club there) and he said the prices were thru the roof!
  3. I would check for codes, clean battery connections and grounds, and reset your apps. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/26-engine-systems/35-apps-sensor-replacement-procedure scroll down to bottom.
  4. I have seen ( a couple of times) a tire blow a hole in the wood of a box van big enough that I could pass thru it. You would have to use at least 1/4" steel for a plate to prevent any damage.
  5. Sorry to see the damage to your house. We can be close on the forum but now we see how far away we are in miles when something like this happens.
  6. Read this: http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/175-p0336-crankshaft-position-sensor-signal should help you diagnose it a little more!
  7. Congrats! Wow! I didn't think there were so many out there that did the same thing. Most people after paying off a bill look at it in the sense "now I have money for a new payment!" So much nicer to know that the majority of my paycheck goes to ME and not a bank!
  8. I do it like W&F except no air. Drop the pan, change filter, remove front line, fill fluid, turn vehicle on, watch fluid till it gets clear again, and refill the fluid till full, tighten front line. Overfill a couple of qts. at first so what goes out you will be close to "full" when you check it.
  9. Welcome to the site!
  10. I think there is someone on the forum with a setup that you are looking into. Can't remember who it was though.
  11. Neither am I! On a gas system the fuel will leak out of a hose, but, on a diesel system it will not leak out but will let air in. Mopar man explains it but I can't remember what he says! I would try pressurizing the fuel tank with air and look for wet spots from the tank to the VP and see if you can find the leak that way.
  12. It wouldn't hurt to do a valve adjustment. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/26-engine-systems/121-valve-lash-adjustment If you do it, it would at least help eliminate where the noise is coming from. You might check the idler pulley as well. It is an easy replacement if that is it. Keep us informed.
  13. No, pressurize the tank at the fill up door. Then crawl underneath and follow the lines from the tank to the VP and look for wet spots. If you have a wet spot then that would also be where there is an air leak.
  14. Great words of wisdom. It is surprising how many that we know will repeat what those around us have done. Whether it is smoking, drugs, or being an alcoholic. We see what others do and fall into the same trap. Like Hex says, you got to break the cycle! I had a former in law that had both parents that smoked like it was going out of style. Both were on oxygen, both passed away horrible deaths (at least in my eyes). Yet, the ex in law continued his smoking and passed it along to his daughter. They have money for smokes but not for food!
  15. Just by conversing has been help enough!
  16. That is exactly why I moved here 4 years ago. To help her out. --- Update to the previous post... I was trying to make sure I didn't have any regrets. If I stayed away, I knew that I would get "that" phone call. I agree, family does come first. Always have believed that idea. My youngest son wh is a special needs person teaches that to me each and every day! I cherish the time that I have with all of my family. --- Update to the previous post... Thanks! --- Update to the previous post... Mike, you do alot for all of us! we have a GREAT forum that we can all be a part of and know that even though we don't see each other, we are able to know that we are all apart of a big family! Thanks!
  17. I would check for codes first. But with out hearing it or knowing where on the front of the truck it came for it could be just about anything. Give us some more detail as to where you though it was coming from.
  18. Thanks guys for your words of support.
  19. Today's day started yesterday. I was cleaning out the horse stalls yesterday and came back in with the 4 wheeler and trailer and one of the horses came in and went down. Had to go get some help and we were able to roll the gal over and get her back up. Took her out to the arena and got her walking around. The vet came out and told us that the she was bound up. Not from colic but old age. The vet said if nothing passed overnight that it didn't look good. Well, the regular vet came today and said it was time to put her down. My oldest son and I helped the vet and we were able to put her down. Bad thing is was this horse was born on my nephew's birthday. Who my mom was watching while my sister was TDY and he drowned in a pond on the farm. This whole death thing is hitting close to home. My mom's cancer came back and this time it is incurrable. So losing this particular horse has hit her hard with the history that she has with it and my nephew. Had to get all of this off my chest. I don't want to sound like a broken record. But, appreciate the time you have with your loved ones! Thanks for letting me air out my thoughts!
  20. Stick the end of the hose in hot water, makes the hose soft and pushes right on.
  21. Try warming the engine up in nuetral and see if it is better. From what I understand the pump is not moving the oil around in park. Mine will stutter as well if I let the truck sit for days. But, if I put it in nuetral for even 10 or 15 sec then she moves right along with no problems.
  22. My is that I would need to know more about the lubricity and what it does to the moving parts before I dump something into a $5000 engine.
  23. How did you check for codes? the key trick will not work on your year of truck. Check all of your battery connections. On my truck I can always tell when I have something wrong with the batteries, tranny shifting gets all wierd!
