Oil change
because you told me very specifically do NOT get the one you have. Get @trreed to buy it from you and you can buy a Keating cover.

The best riding 2001 dually possible
@jlbayes might be able to help on this. If you really want it to ride well though I think you're going to end up spending a bunch of $$$$

Oil change
I didn't know 15/40 was a synthetic from Amsoil. Hmm

My latest UOA
Looks good John! I'm afraid of what they'd say if I sent a sample in

Teardown and Rebuild
New pump. Setting the timing correctly Ripped shift boot. These things are made of paper thin rubber! Fixed. I think I got the breather issue fixed tonight. I ran the two coming off of the tappet cover at a 45* angle upward and towards the front of the motor. They then loop over the filter housing, across the top of the firewall, and straight down. I took it out and worked it pretty hard with 65+ boost and flexed the pyro gauge. The ends of the hoses weren't even wet, it didn't drip at all idling for 2 min, and there was no residue under the truck like there has been. Hopefully this'll solve my problems with it spewing all over the undercarriage, side of the truck, tailgate, and whatever trailer I have behind it. (It'll look much better when I get a real fuel system too) Oh I got a new AFC Live installed tonight too. I'll have to do some driving / towing to make sure everything is fixed properly though.

I have the keating cover with "baffles" Either way the engine needed something so......

Oil change
Under extreme cylinder pressures blow by is going to happen no matter what. Not going to reduce anything, just need to figure out how to keep the oil in the crankcase with that style of breather.

Oil change
Billet tappet covers aren't friendly, but they do work well for getting the pressure out. I'm going to figure something out to keep the oil in the motor.

Pinion seal
Sure is. Doesn't leak though, and that's what matters. You need to make sure the nut is torqued properly too.

Wheels and Tire Setup
The long beds seem to sit a touch lower in the rear than the short beds. It's appears dang near perfectly level. Not a problem. I've got a set of 4th gen wheels with 5K on new tires and a set of 4th gen wheels with no tires. One of those sets will be on during the wet / snow season. My current ones are just for summer.

Pinion seal
This is what I've got. Sealed up perfectly. It should be the same as yours (Dana 80) https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NOS24816

Oil change
Yeah, but it blows oil out the tappet cover breathers like it has 550k

Emissions time is here
I like my cheap injectors and full time check engine light :D
-
Emissions time is here
They're the same. Slight haze off idle. I could make both perfectly clean if I wanted to though.

Emissions time is here
Or Ppump it. @jlbayes would approve

Emissions time is here
Easiest method.... swap the injectors out during testing time. Those are big injectors, and you might never get off idle to be smoke free.

auto to 5 speed
Welcome! I would suggest starting with flashing the ECM for a manual transmission. If you have a smarty, it can be done that way.

Teardown and Rebuild
I just want the car totaled. I'm tired of dealing with it haha. The truck shouldn't be bad. PDR on the roof, fenders, doors, and bed. New paint on the front fender and a new hood. Maybe a cowl hood coming.....

Emissions time is here
I could use some of that time stuff too! Crank it up so it's 32% and when they fail you, hand em the document.

Teardown and Rebuild
Got my breather tubes re-routed after blowing oil all over the camper and having to scrub it for an hour. Now they have a 100% downhill slope and face almost straight downward at the outlet. Seems to have stopped oil from getting all over the truck and trailer. Also got the AFC to quit leaking. The bolts Seth provided were a touch too long and bottomed out before getting tight. Hopefully my car will get totaled soon, then the truck can go in for body / paint work.

Emissions time is here
Just need an endless bucket of money right?

Emissions time is here
It'd be interesting to see the same size injectors from different manufacturers on an emissions test. @Me78569 I think you need to buy a set from someone else. I like spending others' money

It's just money! Can't spend it when you're dead, so might as well spend it now
