  1. I can send my 300's in to them to be set at a higher pressure if they want. I don't really want to be running around on stock HO injectors with 140K on them in the mean time though.... We'll see. If you get a chance to talk to them @Me78569 let me know what they say. Injectors take less than an hour usually.
  2. But maybe some 125's or 150's! We'll see what Nick and I come up with. We had a good chat about some injector stuff over the weekend.
  3. Do you know if they did full deletes on it, or just block the EGR and replace the exhaust?
  4. @Me78569 fix our idle differences!!
  5. Uh....850rpm??? Does everyone else's idle at 850rpm? I idle at 800.
  6. You may be right about that. I can't think of a parameter we could use to base off of that would work for both though.
  7. you think we're done!? There is much work to be done! I'll start driving the truck again and complaining.... don't tempt me. But because this is a MPG thread, I hope to be posting some numbers soon. Hopefully the I can get my boost cruise setting figured out for higher speeds. I'm thinking 20ish psi, but we'll see.
  8. Correct. Yes, I'd give it some hot/cold cycles and a retorque before you decide to pop the gasket!
  9. Oh it happened. I think you can look at our hands/arms and see we were elbow deep in oil! I think a video showing it revving to 3700ish should suffice as proof though eh @Me78569?
  10. Yes, I meant as in the adrenaline. It's easy to turn a programmer up, but turning the fueling lower than stock is impossible without a quad. Since your trans is already built properly, yes I think that is all you'll need to go 50+ with boost. No, you can not. when I was having some "issues" with my setup, my small turbo wouldn't spool and my 75 came alive at about 22-2300rpm. Needless to say it was completely useless. If you're leaning toward a single I would hesitate to put anything larger than a 62 on and still tow / DD nicely. I would also be careful of your injector size for DDing and towing. @CSM might be able to help a bit here since he has an auto and a setup that works well for him.
  11. Without a quad I'd be careful of injector size. This also leads to the question of how much power you want. If you've go the funds, twins would be the coolest and most powerful option. Studs, springs, pushrods, injectors, a twin kit, and an s472 or an s475 would be a really nice towing setup.
  12. The ONLY thing I have heard "bad" about stainless manifolds is they like to stay hot after shutdown. Really not a big deal. Other than that I've never heard of one cracking or breaking. Turbos are a fun discussion. It's best if you start with what you're thinking though and we can give opinions on your ideas
  13. From observation, I think the HO pump is approximately 2* more advanced than the SO pump. Nick and I deduced that from idle state. We "think" idle state timing should be the same for both the HO and SO models. Since the ECM is kicking out about 2* less at idle we think the pump is advanced by 2*. Compression wise, I haven't noticed a difference. I've got marine 17.2:1 compression which I am pretty sure is the same as the HO model. If I were you I would still aim for the 19-20* range but take into account the 2* offset. I think you're right in line going for the 17.
  14. I think Mike is working on that now. I've noticed my engine runs a touch warmer because the intercooler blocks some of the airflow. As far as air temps, I've noticed nothing on the IAT gauge. I think that's because it's at the back of the engine but who knows. I ONLY replaced my stock one because it was leaking out of 3 or 4 tubes where they enter the end tank. I've yet to hear anything like you're experiencing with their radiator.... What keeps happening? I've been considering getting one so that's not good news to me.
  15. I would think removing the washer would do the opposite of what he was experiencing. With the washer in the clutch wouldn't engage all the way. I've personally installed 5 South Bend clutches and not a single one has had an issue. I'm on my 3rd. One of the old ones is in a truck and still working well. The other is in a box waiting to go in a 12V NV4500. To me it sounds like the root of the issue could be the hydros. I would possibly like to buy that clutch from you though....
  16. Can you put your signature in? Level 2 FTW! Still making 40psi at 85% of fueling too
  17. Got it. You're reducing timing at lower load to try and spool the turbo(s) with less fuel. Well done!
  18. I remember Nick talking about this, but I would like to SEE what it's actually doing to the timing at different loads, different rpms, etc. How is this variable implemented (using what parameters) and how does it decide how much to retard using those parameters. I too am currently running 0.
  19. I actually bought a car a week and a half ago, so I haven't filled the truck in a while. Before I got that though, my "city" driving back and forth to school was about 16mpg. That's hitting 6 stop lights in 1 mile with an average speed of 45mph. Straight highway driving nicely I'm seeing about 21-22. Now that the truck only moves when testing needs done I think it'll drop Maybe @Me78569 can give us a good graphical representation of the "Load Timing" so we all know exactly what it's doing.
  20. Quad install should take you no more than an hour taking your time and routing wires properly! You've always got this site for help if you need it too. If you decide at some point you want to try the 4K box let me know and I'll let you borrow mine. The harnesses are the same for both boxes so you can plug it in and select the right vehicle on your phone. It'll reassure you made the right decision with the standard box.
  21. I bet it's possible. You might have forgotten, but I was able to tame a smarty and 7x.013 to drive nicely!
  22. And thanks to @Me78569 and @Quadzilla Power you could! It wouldn't be smart but you could.
  23. In VP land I don't. Any Injectors that'll easily outflow the pump are big. If someone runs 6x.024 injectors in a VP truck they're not smart. Remember mines not a cruise around/ race truck either. I also use it for towing and working!
  24. Just so everyone knows the changes ARE working perfectly as designed! Hey all I wanted was to have HUGE injectors, get good mileage, and have it smoke like a stock truck YOU did that and I greatly appreciate it. Not very often do you get to have your cake and eat it too.
  25. Do not get a 4k box. You will hate how it surges, be disappointed with the high rpm power, and streetability will suck. I have one. I ran it for a day and it's been on the shelf since.
