Got it from here: You still need to test for AC noise though.

- Front Axle CAD Vacuum Actuator to Manual Posi Lock
I personally dislike the looks of the kit. I'm working on finding some electric over air switches so I can have it engage when I want it to.- Nv5600 becareful who you let build
Not quite a direct comparison since the G56 mounts up differently. He'd be able to use the same crossmember and clutch (if he wants to upgrade the input PS I have one for sale!) Driveshafts cost me about $500 to have rebuilt, but it would be more expensive for him since they would lengthen the rear and shorten the front. Mine was the opposite. Tcase actuator might need changed but I'm not sure. It wouldn't be hard, but if you tow a lot it's definitely a downgrade. Built properly with the correct amount of fluid an nv5600 is pretty hard to destroy. He'll just have to figure out the cost comparison and see if it's worth it.- Teardown and Rebuild
Didn't mean to tag you twice. Sorry 96-98 manual transmission 12v's.- Teardown and Rebuild
I took the pump apart yesterday to make sure everything was free and I could install the new parts when they show up. This plug was a PITA! I heated it with a butane torch, used a 10mm hex key, hammered it in, and beat it with a hammer until it came loose. You can see all of the glue / sealant on the plug and pump. Pulled the rack plug since I have a new one on the way. Slotted all of the tamper proof screws with a dremel and cutoff wheel. I then used a screwdriver impact to pop all of the screws loose. That tool works wonders. I popped the top plug on the AFC loose. This SOB was tight! AFC pulled off. Not sure if it's normal for the foot to be angled?? @jlbayes does it look okay? Here you can see just a touch of wear on the foot. Again not sure if it's normal to wear like this. Stock fuel plate in the stock location. I scribed around it so I know where it was from the factory. Here's inside the pump. Not sure if it's normal to be angled like this. Pulled the shutdown bracket to get inside the governor. Diaphragm inside the pump looks good. I was surprised just how far the rack sticks out the front of the pump. Parts should be here tomorrow. Not sure when they'll get installed though. I'll have to take the AFC into the machine shop to do a little work for full travel.- Bought Me a First Gen
Nice clean engine bay! Turbo specs?- Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing
Hopefully I can retain some decent mileage in my truck. It seemed to like 21-22deg of timing for cruise, and that's what I plan to set the Ppump to. I'm sure it'll take some getting used to before my numbers come up where they're supposed to.- Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing
Nick "floor it to see if it smokes!" Me "Mmmmk" Nick "Holy ship it's death wobbling!" Me But really, I drive like a grandpa unless I'm testing, around my brother, it taking people for a ride. Fuel gets expensive- Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing
I think the g56 can handle about 700 driven somewhat hard and probably 800 if driven nicely. The one in my truck has seen over 900 and has no issues. It all depends on how much torque is put through it! I'd like to get about 750hp since I don't drive things too hard. It'd be nice to turn it back down with AFC live to tow and DD though.- Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing
You can't corrupt me too bad! I've still got a weak transmission- Nv5600 becareful who you let build
Both drive shafts, input shaft on the transmission or a new clutch, 4x4 linkages to transfer case if not enough adjustment, and I'm sure some more things. It also depends on how much power you want to play with. 5th gear doesn't like to hang on.- The crf450ish random question thread.
I burned up two of them in a month. I got blamed for messing up the pump even after I pulled the bed to look in the fuel tank. I didn't get all my money back when I was tired of messing with them, etc. Run away from them.- Passed on the power wagon... picked up this!
Now we're getting on the same page! If only there was more time... Spring break is coming up if you'd like to hang out and play with a Ppump!- Passed on the power wagon... picked up this!
I prefer whiskey.... Beer... eh. Car looks good! I'd like to see some fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror though.- Nv5600 becareful who you let build
The way I look at it you're kinda screwed either way. If you buy another replacement, they may not accept yours as a good core. If you get that one rebuilt they may charge an arm and a leg to fix it.- Nv5600 becareful who you let build
A GOOD company could fix the race issue. It just depends how much they would charge. Those cases aren't exactly a dime a dozen.- Quadzilla Adrenaline Economy and MPG
Sounds like it's not mechanical to me....- Just took a chance on buying a 2001 to replace work rig
@JAG1 I'm very concerned about this picture issue. We neeeeeed pictures- Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing
If it's running on 3 it's running on 3. Shouldn't matter which ones! For a remedy you could put a stipulation in that the vehicle must be doing >1 or >2mph for warmup mode to be engaged.- Adding 2 stroke oil questions
Most guys here just use a quart bottle with oz. on the side and add depending on the # of gallons they put in.- Teardown and Rebuild
I picked up a 180 pump today. For me it didn't matter 180 or 215 pump as they will both flow enough to break the transmission. I'm thinking I'll put in 4k governor springs, remove the fuel plate, install an AFC max travel kit, and order AFC live to control fuel. @jlbayes tell me if something sounds dumb here.... I also need to find a shutoff solenoid bracket (current one is broke), and a shutoff solenoid. The timing pin was missing, but I am going to pick up a timing kit, so I shouldn't need it. I never realized how tiny the VP was compared to this thing!- Just took a chance on buying a 2001 to replace work rig
we're all sitting here drooling waiting for pictures while the ladies are giving him a hard time!- Quadzilla Adrenaline Economy and MPG
I ran those exact injectors for a while. They run very well, but with the tuner up things got VERY hot on the stock turbo. Mid 1600's or so if you keep in it. Quad should be able to keep fuel tied down though. I'd expect mileage to stay up without a problem. - Front Axle CAD Vacuum Actuator to Manual Posi Lock
