Here is what the National Weather Service has for our area
  4. Maybe you, but not me. No Way, No How....... I don't want to go then then . Not my style.........
  5. That's what I was thinking. I am kind of impressed that some knew what a Fargo is!
  6. Only as a pipefitter. I tried when they opened it back up but they didn't want me for whatever reason....... I moved out of there about 16 years ago.
  7. Wonder how many on here knows what a Fargo is? I haven't seen that name on the road in a long time! I believe it should be a fairly easy swap if you had a 1st gen donor.

I kniw how that is. Lake Superior is wide open yet too. Actually, I am glad of that too. If it was froze over by now it would have made last year seem balmy!
  9. 32*?!?! Must be nice. It was 51* COLDER than that here when I got up at 6AM...... Never did get above zero today.

  11. Hey Buzzinhalfdozen, how long you lived in Silver Bay? I used to live there on Davis Dr.........
  12. It isn't so much as diesels are good at cooling, but at an idle there is just enough fuel injected to keep it running resulting in very little cylinder heat. Once it warms up there is enough residual heat that idling takes a lot longer to drop water temp.
  13. The ECM looks at what resistance the IAT is at and has a set time for a set resistance.

Parts of it. Anchorage has gone over 365 days without going below zero.

"But the salesman said it could pull it!!"
  16. Sorry I guess I mis read what you meant. If hte light is not coming on as fast as it should then it NORMALLY means the ECM is taking longer to start up than it should. You could be looking at anything from A loose connection to an ECM failure.

Just remember that the Wm Keck Observatory is at 13,600 feet in elevation, but the other temps were real cold for there! It is supposed to get to about -20* here tonight with wind chills from -35* to -50* tonight. I bet that would make them Islanders feel cold!
  18. Your is acting totally normal. When it takes longer to go off you can see the volt meter get pulled down to about the 10 volt range. Soon as the light goes off the volt meter goes back to normal. That is the grid heaters running to assist in the starting.
  19. Well, you sure shot the crap out of my ideas........

Near freezing?? Must be nice. This AM it would have to warm up 49 degrees just to get to freezing! We only have about 4 to 6 inches of snow on the ground too!
  23. The reason I said to adjust your valves was to have you check for excessive wear, excessive adjustment, lack of valve movement, etc. If you notice one adjuster different than the others it will tell you where to concentrate your efforts.
  24. I had the same problem for a while. I finally replaced the switch. The old one would not stay adjusted.
