The temperature difference right now between inside and outside my house is 87* and it is 71* inside. I am ready for warmer weather.........
  2. I was going to suggest looking at the axle tag, but you already figured out which one it is.
  3. Actually, IF you have the stock switch just push on the pedal and reach up to the switch and find the plunger. Pull the plunger out and release the pedal. That resets the plunger length and is the way to adjust it.
  4. Exactly. My 12 valve with 289K miles is still on the original lift pump and original injection pump. I have concidered upgrading to a 24 valve, but with all the fueling issues....... My 12 valve keeps looking better and better!
  5. In all reality, the gas option would be way better for your Cummins, but remember, gas engines need to warm up too.
  6. The biggest thing with idling them or any other diesel is that you do not get the cylinder temperatures high enough to completely burn all the fuel. That leads to cylinder wash down and accelerated wear for the cylinders, pistons, and rings not to mention the oil gets diluted with raw fuel.
  7. Worst part is this^^ is probably true!
  8. Just pull the cover off the differential and get in there with a welder! That will give you a real posi!!
  9. Have you looked at the truck to see if you can see the leak yet?
  10. For the cost I wouldn't want to do that. His last IP tested just fine so there is something else going on.
  11. You want to get your truck as warm as you can. Starting it up and shutting it down cold is real hard on not only the engine, but the rest of the truck too. Do you have plug ins at work? The more it is lugged in the warmer it will be.
  12. That is what I tried to explain to him, but he still says there is a lack of oil. The turbo is about the first thing to see oil whenever the engine is started.
  13. I didn't realize the link was not functioning here about the filter tests so here it is: http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.htmlHere is another study of filtration: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/airfilter/airtest3.htm
  14. Since he seems to have backed off a bit I am just going to sit back and see what he says. I gave him a site to look at about filter tests and he didn't even acknowlege it. It showed his precious K&N was second from the bottom for filtration.

The MOST offset I have ever seen at my house was 110*, but yea, 80*+ is not out of the norm..... And people wonder why we have the air conditioning on in 80* weather.......
  16. Engine hoist will be easier than the jack. The jack works good, but the hoist better.
  17. Yea, I know there will always be those types. I have had people tell me I am going to kill everyone around me because I sometimes pull two trailers at the same time.......... Like you I have been on these forums long before CF, and even on DieselRam my member number is 555. I still hate to see some of these so called 'experts' spew such inaccurate drivel because there is some newby that is going to see it and believe it.

Well, the forecast here is for 16* tomorrow (Saturday), low of -11* high Sunday of -7* and a low of -25* sunday night..... Gonna be chilly for a week or so. Glad I don't have anywhere I need to go for a while!
  19. If it is just hinges you will be lucky!
  20. Now he is claiming to NOT be arguing with me........ Like IBMobile said "You can't fix stupid".
  21. There ya go! I have found a few parts for things on there that were inexpensive with free shipping. Good for you!
  22. You are going to be looking for a door. Once they get tweaked like that it is almost impossible to straighten out and get it back to normal. I know that is not what you wanteed to read, but..........
  23. On my old 12 valve the alternator stays online when the grid heaters run. You can hear it pull the engine down it is working so hard.
  24. Adjust your valves. That will tell you IF you are having a valve train issue.
