  1. Matt, I have a good friend that is in Zimmerman that can fix up your tranny and give you straight up advice as to what you should do to your truck. He just rebuilt my tranny.
  2. You get GAS mileage from your truck??? Sorry, I couldn't help it Anyhow, unless you try a new unit you won't know if it works or not. If you get it and don't like it you can always sell it.
  3. One RV forum I am on there are people that claim you should fill the fuel filter with ATF when you change them on Cat powered motorhomes.
  4. Yea....... 99.9% of the time ST tires fail from heat build up caused by low pressure. If you want to read about tires look here: http://media.wiley.com/product_data/excerpt/19/04713546/0471354619.pdf
  5. The closest Mills store is about 2 hours away. There may be one coming soon to our area though! Matt, any time you want you can come look at mine and see how it was done.
  6. HM! I guess they do fit, but it would take a bit more than pullng the airbox and installing them. I saw one post on another site that took some rubber 90* elbows and a stainless 908 elbow and some pipe, and on another site where the battery tray needed to be notched amongst other thigs to make it fit and it took him about 90 minutes to install.
  7. I don't think the 'normal' BHAF will fit a common rail. At least I have not heard of one that fits, From what I understand the third and fourth gen air boxes are an improvement over the second gens.
  8. Wow! I think you have the record for the oldest VP truck!!
  9. Call mine a pavement queen if you want, after all it is a two wheel drive, but I hae nebver seen any trace of moisture on hte filr=ter with no outer wears.
  10. How does $44.99 sound? http://www.vulcanperformance.com/Big-Honkin-Air-Filter-BHAF-p/bhaf.htm $57.22 on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Wix-42790-Air-Filter-Pack/product-reviews/B000CSD39A $45.00 http://puredieselpower.com/dodge-products/bhaf-replacement-high-flow-air-filter-94-02-dodge-5.9l-cummins.html Those prices are a fair amount cheaper than $80. What I am trying to say is shop around and you can find some pretty decent deals!
  11. That is great news for you! That is the spirit of MOST ALL of these forums. We are here to help each other in any way we are comfortable.
  12. Eddielee, even at $80 the paper BHAF is still inexpensive. If you drive 12,500 miles per year that still only comes out to $10 per year.
  13. John, one of your pictures showed the batteies isolated. Far as your 140A fuse issue, if you mean you diconnect the wires then check for draw at the battery cable? Like Ed said, you need to keep working on isolating the circuit that has the draw on it.
  14. Another easy way to check for wear in the tierods is to have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth while you look at the steering components. If there is play you will see it.
  15. I am another one that runs a paper BHAF. I have owned my thruck for over thirteen YEARS and have put a total of two BHAF on it. One when I got it and one a couple of years ago. Keep in mind that this is over a mileage of 156,000 miles. The only reason I put the secong=d filter on is the first one was in place for over 10 years but it never did move the filter minder. $50 for a new filter was quite cheap at $5 per year.
  16. Sounds like an Edge problem. Do like Will said and pull the Edge and see what happens.
  17. When you get the turbo pull the waste gate apart and put some hi temp never seize on the pivot points.
  18. If you stayed with the alloy wheels I don't believe you would increase the mass enough even with the larger rotors to make it noticeable in feel or mileage.
  19. That is what has me confuzzled. You are saying the 140A fuse WITH NO WIRES ON IT still has the 1/2 amp draw.

You WHAT?!?!?!? Oh, that's not good....... Anyhow, If you run into a problem I know of a good guy to work on your truck that has a shop in Golden! Welcome!!!
  21. Where does the black wire (looks like maybe two black wires) go? Have you pulled the nut on the fuse and checked just that wire? If you pulled all the fuses the small black wire has been in the circuit for every test (doesn't look like any wrench marks on the nut)>
