  1. The first thing to check is the compressor suction line coming out of the evap. Is it cold? Beer can cold? If it is then you are getting warm air mixed with the cold air (blend door). If it is warm and the compressor is cycling then the system is a little low on refrigerant. With a normal charge in warm weather and the engine at an idle the compressor should be running just about all the time.
  2. It is entirely possible that you need a headlight switch and connector. The connector was melted some and you could see where the switch terminals got real hot. I tried to put a picture on here, but for some reason it won't load. The switch and pigtail is available at Auto Zone part number HL157.
  3. Sounds like you have a burnt out light bulb and a filament has shorted across the bulb internally. The ground for your low beam just MAY be going through the high beam circuit causing the indicator to stay on. If you replace one bulb the other is probably due for replacement also. Just make sure you don't touch the glass on the replacements. Tom
  4. That just doesn't make a bunch of sense. Have you tried tightening the TV cable a little? I had a car that I changed the transmission in and until the TV cable was set right it would shift way early. I still don't understand the jumper issue though.......
  5. If you have a lack of power and no smoke the only thing that would cause it is lack of fuel. How long has it been since the fuel filter was changed?
  6. So, if the lilac bush is a result of "global warming", would this picture I took last month be a result of it too?
  7. At what speed does your trans shift into O/D? Mine is at 47MPH with 'normal' throttle. Keep in mind that your PCM only looks at the TPS and the speed sensor on the side of the transmission to determine the proper gear. If you need a TPS NAPA has them and I am sure that other parts stores will have them too. NAPA TPS AutoZone TPS
  8. Ever figure anything out on it?
  9. You guys are lucky....... This is what the lilacs look like here as of today. I have not even mowed the grass yet.........
  10. Rick, did you by chance shut the key off then restart it with the relay in? The reason I ask is because the PCM on mine needs to be reset when it goes into limp.

Max posted on FB a while back that he was having server problems and got called to duty about the same time, so he did not have an estimate when it will be back online again. If I had the money I would buy it and get it going again.......
  12. But, did the JY switch work right??? If you wanted to be able to lock out O/D you could just put a switch to ground on the PCM.....
  13. Another fairly easy way to pull the fan is to put a pair of slip-joint pliers (otherwise known as Channellocks) on the big nut and then use a 2x4 (or something similar) and place it on the handle of the pliers to stick up just above the radiator. Then use a decent hammer and smack the end of the 2x4. It will break the nut loose with a couple of good smacks. Just using hand tools I can tab a pin and put a new seal in in about 2 1/2 hours and not rush it.
  14. I wonder if the correct year O/D switch is wired differently?
  15. Since I can't see the attachments I don't know what you have, but I purchased set of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DODGE-RAM-1500-2500-3500-CRYSTAL-BLACK-HEADLIGHTS-PAIR-LEFT-RIGHT-/380608827006?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item589e0dce7e&vxp=mtr They bdon't shine the best, but they light up signs a lot farther away than the stock lights did.The best part is no one has flashed their lights so they must not be blinding others. They really look good (I think) on my truck.
  16. If you want one of the best (in my opinion) transmisions with the best customer service in the industry call Goerend Transmission. www.goerend.com
  17. Eric, chances are the problem you experienced is the speed sensor on the side of the transmission loss of signal. The plug on it gets loose and wears so it does not keep a solid connection. You can try cleaning things up and see what happens. This is what the speed sensor looks like: http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/product-info/en/US/drm/917-602/image/2/ You can find it here: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1996-Dodge-RAM-2500-3-4-ton-2WD/Sensor-Transmission-Speed/_/N-j5ljhZ6o3b6?filterByKeyWord=speed+sensor&fromString=search
  18. Did this wandering thing just start? It could be anything from a low tire to the gear box to things worn out or even an alignment 'problem'. The reason for the alignment 'problem' is that the book specs are way to wide so even though it is within spec it will not drive as good as it should.
  19. That sounds a lot like the orange/blk wire from the PCM to ground problem. The PCM grounds the lock up circuit to operate it so I would spend some time looking for a harness that is rubbing somewhere causing the wire for lock up to ground.
  20. What is happening is that you are overpowering your converter. Be careful with it because you can shred the lining in it and it will go through your transmission and plug it up costing you more money. Depending on the miles and condition of your tranny you may get by with either just a convertor, or maybe a valve body and convertor, opr worst case a new tranny. I personally would contact Dave Goerend www.goerend.com My daughter and I both have one of his trannies and we are both VERY satisfied with them.
  21. Sounds like it is in limp mode. First thing is to scan the truck for DTCs. That may point you in the right direction. Something to try on your truck is the quick disconnects on the battery on the passenger side. There are two of them one goes back to the engine and one goes to the computer. Take the two grey disconnects and clean them. While in there clean the post. Another thing to do is check the pressure transducer and the temperature sensor. If that doesn't help here is a place you can call that is not that terrible far from you: http://www.maxtorqdiesel.com/
  22. The easiest way I found is to use Firefox and then add Adblock Plus. It eliminated just about all ads. You can also add all sorts of other helpfull things like DoNotTrackMe, etc. This page will give you more info: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
  23. I am putting this on my site!! Thanks Dorkweed!!!
  24. I run Amsoil synthetic 15w40 year around. It gets cold here and I don't even plug mine in until the temp hits about zero degrees f.
  25. Amsoil is another oil to look into.......
