oil out the dipstick??
OK, It was hard to tell from the pics if it was just a single cylinder or more. That is why I said I am holding off on judgement. Just spitballing ideas thru the keyboard.:lol:How many miles are on it again and how long have you had it or how many miles have you put on it? How long have the BD injectors been in it?

oil out the dipstick??
Is there any crosshatch left in the cylinder bores? Looks to be a bit carboned up so at this point I am leaning towards bad rings from excessive idle time and or poor quality oil or having been dusted from a bad air filter. But will hold final judgement until I see more of the pistons and better cyl wall pics.

I just did the big amsoil conversion on my 2010 ram 1500 5.7 hemi yesterday as well. Both diffs, engine oil, tranny and T-case. Next go around will be the steering system and then a cooling system fluid change when I install a block heater.:thumbup2:Will see if I can do even better than the 19.2 mpg I saw a week ago with it with the amsoil. Although Chrysler uses mostly synthetic now I read in the manual. Time will tell.

Kony Hysteria
That is why they will be at a huge disadvantage in any kind of debate. I have gotten many folks over the years to stop watching many main stream media sources after they check out his sites for a bit. They quickly realize they were not getting the whole story or very skewed views of it rather than the real story. I have been following Alex Jones for many years and he gets very "Compassionate" about the issues but his accuracy has yet to be matched in reporting the truth and facts from any other news source that I have found hands down. I even went to an Eric Severide symposium last year which had news reporters of old like Nick Clooney, Bob scheifer and Dan Rather that highly complimented Alex as one of the last true Iron core investigative journalists around. He has a bigger following than almost all other news sources except for Drudge Report.

Not sure where you are coming from on that one? Here is an update. There are several links in the story of the top link below as well. http://www.prisonplanet.com/arrest-angelina-jolie-for-war-crimes-kony-2012.html http://landdestroyer.blogspot.com/2012/03/more-accurate-kony-2012-campaign-poster.html

oil out the dipstick??
Bad valve or valve seat an cracked or broken rings or worn rings among other things. For those that think free revving a diesel is bad need to quit stirring the pot. it will hut nothing They are designed to run at a rated speed safely thet is why the speed is governed. You all need to go to an auto dealer like GM and watch an engine go through a block relearn sequence after replacing a crank or cam sensor. You would think the engines are going to blow as it needs to see max goverened rpms several times on a gasoline engine I am talking. Most dealers will not let customers in the shop to see this procedure done. As a diesel tech for the last 20 years most diesel engine manufacturers state engine life is most accurately determined by the gallons of fuel it has burned over its life rather than hours or miles. Example, rather than thinking a cat engine should have a life expectancy in hours "say 20K hours" they have worked out formulas over the years determining that every engine given standard maintenance and not figuring in mechanical failures "Its metal and it can and will break weaken or fail at some undetermined point"is most likely going to have a life of say 100K gallons of fuel burned. As far as cold starting and going to work I call bogus. Here in the north counrty if an engine has run for as little as a couple minutes in sub zero temps even, I have never seen it shorten the life of any engine unless there are underlying conditions. Internal cylinder temp is more important than coolant temp and the internal cyl temp is going to rise to normal levels within a couple minutes usually.

The moster media machine has spun it up and has everyone dumbed up with half truths about the whole thing now. You all need to watch the videos below for the in depth truth. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv4UwyGFKks&feature=g-user-u&context=G24f57d0UCGXQYbcTJ33ZkbZSdeXLLG0tYLIUjDP a3XMimIN-rSJI http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3Z0Z33ODD4&feature=g-all-u&context=G210f2ebFAAAAAAAAWAA http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xb6PYjmstXI&feature=g-all-u&context=G2d3faa7FAAAAAAAAVAA http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM2LZ3W1D2Q&feature=g-all-u&context=G22af896FAAAAAAAAUAA http://www.infowars.com/kony-2012-invisible-childrens-pro-africom-museveni-propaganda/ http://www.infowars.com/kony-2012-pro-africom-propaganda-by-the-regime-change-machine/

Having fun with RC cars and cows.
Seen that a while back very entertaining. Those cattle were just being curious and playful, Add new born calves to the mix and his RC would have been stomped into a pile of rubble in short order.

What would you do, If you were in my Shoes?
Sounds like a flexplate that is cracked and along with it would not be a bad idea to inspect the crankshaft dampner to make sure it has not started to slip. there are 2 marks that should line up with each other on the two parts either side of the rubber. I would do a good single disc converter and a new flexplate and a VB along with it. It would be a lot safer to drop the tranny out completely as it would be a bugger to get the new converter in with it under the rig and on a jack. It can be a pain to get the splines and pump drive slots to line up and it wouldn't be good if it fell off a jack onto you or a helper.

What would you do, If you were in my Shoes?
I would agree with the cracked flexplate also but first I would drop the pan and look for pieces amd if that looks fine pull the tranny and check out the flexplate. How big of a turbo and injectors are you looking to go in the future? I would not go too wild on a triple disc converter and billet flexplate if you are not planning on more than 500ish hp and not racing and sled pulling.I ran 560 hp on a single disc BD converter and stock flexplate and sled pulled for years with that setup trouble free. Drag racing would have been a different story as that is a lot harder on parts then a triple disc and billet would be wise but not for adily driver/tow rig.

Roadrunner was in awe at just how many folks pulled up wanting to know if they could help. North Dakota is a great place that way.

Pipe Insulation
Thats what OSB plywood and hay/straw bales are for.:lol:Thats how all the oil workers do it here in the North Dakota oil fields. I agree though every little bit helps.

The Raptor pump is dead, it had power to it but it would do nothing. Luckily the guy he had install the raptor left all the OEM stuff so it was as easy as unhooking swapping the electrical connection back to the oem pump and unhooking the fuel lines at the tank and filter head and hooking up the oem fuel lines. The installer did a great job and left all the necessary parts on the rig.BTW roadruner is a great guy and has a super nice "BIG" family. Really friendly and fun to visit with.We will be keeping in touch.

oil out the dipstick??
It will take about 3-4 quarts. --- Update to the previous post... You can put the best of the best converter in but it is still no better than a stock unit if you do not install an upgraded Valve body to up the internal tranny pressures.

2nd Gen Auto Transmissions
Depends on how you go about doing it. The way I do it is to drop the pan and pull the filter then take the front cooler line off as this one is the hot line coming out of the converter. I then use compressed air and blew the oil out of the cooler circuit and then put a slight pressure on the fitting to push the oil out of the converter. I do this very gently as to not blow the seals out of the pump. Just a bit of air and hold it then a bit more, it can take a few minutes as you can push about 3-4 extra quarts out of the system this way.If going to a shop and having a tranny flush done with a machine it is bad because they do not take the tranny pan down and change the filter and clean the sludge from the magnet and pan nor do they do a band adjustment with this method. It is a bad method that does little good due to the lack of proper maintenance that needs to be done. It is no different than draining the engine oil and never changing the filter and never adjusting the valves.

Had one heck of a week "In a Good way"
The biggest underlying cause is the United Nations and those associated with it. It goes so deep and has been incrementally situating its agenda for so long most don't realize it is happening.Everyone needs to research "Agenda 21" Which is a UN program. This will teach most after you spend time researching it just what is happening under our noses. Most do not even realize we as the USA do not even own our federal land and national monuments and National parks anymore. Bill Clinton signed an executive order when he was president that put all of our public land up for collateral against our countries debt. If you go to any National park look around because most have some sort of UN emblems or signs somewhere around on signs or in visitor centers. Do you think he knew something was going to happen when he repealed the Glass Steagle act that allowed the housing bubble to happen and the derivitives market to have a decade long party unregulated causing the banks and markets to crash .

Heck no I do not mind at all. I wish more people would jump in and learn as this is whats getting us aligned again. It is sad that most boards shy away from the political discussion because from what I see 90% of it is people who have somewhat of an understanding and some are just starting to see and are waking up. --- Update to the previous post... This is as true as it gets, once elected they all get a power trip and forget the oath they take. They think we the people are supposed to act like they are royalty or something these days.

Had one heck of a week "In a Good way"
Ah Yes the old Hegalian Dialectic or Problem reaction solution that the governments now use to create the terroism falicy and the police state we live in today. Create a problem "911" provide a solution "turn all free americans into slaves to the police state through small increments and gradually taking our rights away" then offer the solution " no more rights under the guise of safety".:banghead: Ron Paul is the only candidate who understands this and will try and get us out from under the control of the United nations and the control of the global bankers who run this country. The reason we are in the shape we are today is because of the main stream media and the ongoing dumbing down of the society as a whole. People have been more interested in sports than their own well being but it is slowly "Unfortunately" changing and to stand down and do nothing is not an option anymore. This is why I am getting involved and from what I see at the local level it is starting to change for the better as most are waking up to whats happening and starting to get involved again. I like the quote I can't remember who but it states "When people start following the voting records of their elected officials as closely as they follow the scores of their favorite sports team the country will be a better place." Thats what I have to say.

Text taken from the John Birch Society web site. By definition, a conspiracy exists when two or more persons work secretly for an evil or unlawful purpose. Given the state that America is in today, one could argue that an unconstitutional agenda is no longer secret, but in the open for all to see. Those that continue to work against the Constitution do so brazenly, continuing to make promises and entitlements to citizens that the country cannot afford while committing future generations to crushing debt and ever decreasing prosperity at the expense of liberty.
