  1. You must be in ancient cell phone territory up there chuck. We haven't been able to use the old analog bag phones for about 3 years now as everything went totally digital. Boy did that Pizz off a lot of people too. Bill v-o
  2. Throw the K&N away as fast as you can especially if you drive in any kind of dirty conditions. I have my own personal oil samples to prove they are junk along with others testimonials of having bad oil samples and dirt inside the intake system as well.
  3. Did the previous owner have them tested/adjusted? that is almost unheard of. Must of been the worlds best ever injectors for sure.
  4. You mean to tell us that all 6 injectors were totally balanced " Had the exact same pop off pressure" after having so many miles on them. I know people who rebalance the pressures every year and they need to be adjusted.
  5. From my experience once that code shows up you had better save up for the VP44 replacement as it ususlly isn't a sign of much time left in it before you start showing the signs of a dead vp44, dead pedal, surging, surging cruise control, hard start, no start ect.............:sad4:
  6. I find it hard to believe that a rig that new can have powersteering related noise already. If its under warranty I would get it checked if its that loud. Edit I see you posted in the wrong forum this is the 3rd gen 6.7 area. You should fill in your signature in the user control panel so we know what you have. It could be the fan clutch is staying engaged all the time also. that will cause a howl. usually the powersteering is a whine rather than a howl.
  7. I forgot one on my list we used to have an 03 Jeep Liberty Renegade also, Nice rig but only 16-17 mpg on a really good day which was just way too bad for me to want around for long couldn't justify a small rig that couldn't pull any weight and only getting the same milage as a full sized pickup.
  8. Yep they are interchangable with one another, makes it easy to rule out a bad one.
  9. Good to hear another success story.
  10. If its a long box be sure to check the driveshaft hanger bearing or carrier bearing as some call it. Also check the slip yokes for excessive play as that will cause bad vibes as it will easily explained "Jump rope" If you understand. Check t-case to tranny bolts and mounts and make sure they are still there and tight. And like you were on the way to do Check them u-joints. These are just some of what I have seen on these rigs.
  11. Actually too much atomized fuel with not enough air smokes black. Too much unatomized raw fuel leaking or dripping "From a bad injector" into a cylinder or a really cold or low compression engine smokes white. And yes too much raw fuel will wash the cylinder walls and cause a scored piston bore and or melt/erode a piston. and yes if an O-ring is bad or a cracked injector body happens it can leak up through the top of the head into the crankcase.
  12. Someone posted that over on TDR yesterday also.
  13. Yep I have been getting that e-mail for about 3 years now.
  14. Just scanning through the info I see that is mostly without a comp box or timing only. They all have disclaimers that wire taps through everything out the window as far as EGTS go and the Comment over and over and over is "MANAGABLE" Which means never take eyes off of gauge, Saw new studies that distracted drivers are being killed at a way higher rate now than drunken driving. Texting has new competition with EGT gauge watchers............:sad4:
  15. 16. You are going to have exterme EGTS with 150 injectors with those small turbos, I have a Silver 62 turbo from II 62-74-14 with 150 injectors and I can still easily peg my 1600 pyro if I want to with HRVP44 and comp on level 3 or higher. I would highly reccomend 90 hp injectors they run smoother and are better matched to your turbo choices, I am even wanting to back down to a 100 hp injector, II said 100 hp injectors would be a closer match to my turbo and I realize this. I ran 90 hpinjectors with a BD super B and that was bordering too much fuel for that turbo. I have read on many occasions to not bother with the 3rd gen turbo swaps to a 2nd gen.......Actually most are installing second gen manifolds and turbos on the 3rd gens.
  17. They eliminated the CAD the same time they came with rear disc beakes, the switch was 01.5 and 02.
  18. They aclamate really quick. I knew it wouldn't be long for T-shirt weather here, after a few days of -20 and -10's it hit +10 the other day and there were guys wearing nothing but t-shirts in town already, I can tell you as 1 who has to work in the elemnts you do get used to it pretty fast.
  19. Where at in ND did you go Rooster huntin?
  20. Ever since the big crash of DC and GM it has affected a lot of other companies that made and supplied them parts. I have heard of lots of people waiting on all sorts of parts for the same nation wide back order issues.:bang: I also ran into it with the cup holder in my 02, national back order for months, Had to buy a used one from a wrecking yard and it had a broken hinge but after 6 months of looking I took it as it was still beter than the one I had.
  21. Yeah I have read and heard plenty about all of the quality issues with the quad products. I like the westach gauges, i have a tranny temp gauge by them and the accuracy is great. I am not a bling buyer, I am after the best bang for the buck and seeing as how westach is the supplier for most aircraft gauges plus they are about the best value I can find I am thinking about the westach pressure gauge with single column mount for it. As far as the digital gauge cluster for the 05 I haven't narrowed it down yet but most seem to like the edge the best. Its the only one that never seems to get any negative feedback.
  22. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ OMG did anyone call an ambulance. Looks like a "Hold my beer and watch this" Moment.
  23. J "Just" O "Over" B "Broke" = JOB Just where the Government wants us so we remain slaves to their taxation.
  24. That must have been a Canadian sold unit only then, I have never seen or heard of such a rig. I have read of many types of repowered pickups and some putting perkins in them. Farm show magazine has had a few of these repowers in the magazine. There are a lot of Diesel powered vehicles in Canada that have never been offered in the states.
