Air Dog Ii 165...yay Or Nay?
Wow 25 pages of bad mouth against them.............guess I will pass, who makes the fuelab pumps a lot talk about that are so good? Is it a BD product?

Air Dog Ii 165...yay Or Nay?
I had that problem with a fass HPFP 150 on my 02 but that was a stand alone pump with no filters. Does Air dog offer a heated filter head or any cold weather package that Fass used to a few years ago? Is his price fair with extra filters?

Air Dog Ii 165...yay Or Nay?
Found this pump locally and think it to be a fair deal for my 05, he said it is for 05 and newer. What are your thought on air dog and if I can beat him down even farther on price I may jump on it if you guys think it is a qualiy pump, I have not followed any of the recent fuel pump threads ad do not follow any other forums anymore, not nough time in a day for me so am getting behind on the new products out there. Any input on it? http://www.bismanonline.com/air_dog_ii_165

Cirrus, Back In The Shop...
I would have pulled it out of the shop and backed it into the biggest pot hole I could find and then call for help.

Aliarc aluminum bumper painted black, everyone in our area quit using them, they do not hold up in deer colissions or rattling down rough roads daily the aluminum cracks up and requires constant welding.

Looks pretty tough and not being able to drive it to confirm any other needs would lead me in the opposite direction on that one, just in what it needs to make it drivable is already putting you in a price category of a nicer rig to start out with. My opinion is walk away and find another one in better shape for just a bit more.

Turbo Upgrade?
The super B is the best bet in the long run many many options with it when the time comes, BD stacks 2 super B's together for their towing twins. Match that with a standard edge comp and say 100 hp max injectors with the single turbo and you are off and running.

Don't believe all you read on the advertising of big brand name components, an SO VP44 is as quality as good as they get if it comes from an authorized Bosch reman facility they should all meet the same criteria and any extra money put forth is just to pay for the name on the box.

Hello From Almost 1St Time Diesel Owner From Nj
Welcome to the site, we are all glad to be of assistance to you. A big red flag for me is the $1875 Bluechip vp44, just get a regular SO vp44 from the vendors on this site for exactly half that price and be happy you have 900 bucks to spend on some of the other thngs you want to do. The standard SO pump is better than any HRVP, I ran both on my 02 and I would never do another HRVP again for the minimal gains and the lopey tendancies of them.

Oil Leak
Since the OP has over 300K on his engine it is definitely a possibility, O-rings get hard over time, he just needs to get some brake cleaner and dry up the rear area of the engine and get it warmed up and crawl under it and see if he can see where the wetness is weeping from. Not saying it isn't the Tappet cover just giving him another area to look at, at over 300K both are equal suspects. A coworker just had a flex plate let loose a few months ago on his 03 and it cracked the adapter plate and the tranny shop that replaced it forgot to put the O-ring in.................he had a real bad leak when he got home, needless to say thy did it on their own dime the second time.

Sounds like poor fuel and cheap filers to me.

Oil Leak
They all have that o-ring that is what holds the oil in that lubes the rear cam journal, the adapter plate is what they use as the rear cam cover rather than a soft plug like a lot of engines.
-
Oil Leak
Can also be the cam o-ring between the engine block to tranny adapter plate. They can get hard over time and seep in the same area or if there was a recent tranny swap and the adapter was removed I have seen them cut or even where folks forgot to put one back in or didn't realize there was one there even.

Where Are The Young Entrepreneurs?
I have always liked this wisdom piece so I added it to my signature as well. Your story reminded me of it. "The hunter's horn sounds early for some, later for others. For some unfortunates, prisoned by city sidewalks and sentenced to a cement jungle more horrifying than anything to be found in Tanganyika, the horn of the hunter never sounds at all. But deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club, and then with spear, and then with bow, and then with gun, and finally with formulae. How meek the man is of no importance; somewhere in the pigeon chest of the clerk is still the vestigial remnant of the hunter's heart; somewhere in his nostrils the half-forgotten smell of blood." - Robert Ruark

Turbo Upgrade?
I would watch the egts close with 100 hp injectors with a super B, anything less would be ok unless you had free flowing intake and exhaust manifolds to help a bit.

Nasty Vehicle Accident
There was a poster in this thread that has since been banned and deleted that was spamming for an auto accident lawyers firm.

Old Learjet Casstte Radio Car Audio
I think most old stereo wiring was fairly standard if you look for old radio wiring colors you will find it.

Turbo Upgrade?
It might be a bit slow with just a smarty but it could perform ok I can't give accurate info there having not had a smarty when I had that turbo. Since you have a manual it might be ok for you, with an auto I would say it would be lazy with stock Injectors and a smarty.

Leafy spurge to be exact, extremely invasive in our parts, take over all grasslands with a vengeance and nothing eats it except the flea beetle and some goats as a last resort. Problem with the flea beetle is that it feeds on nothing but spurge and once an area is killed off the beetles die off as the spurge is gone but the seeds can stay dormant fore a long time and after the beetles are gone the spurge comes right back again.

Turbo Upgrade?
Are you asking for a second gen or 3rd gen? For a second gen the super B is a good all around turbo upgrade from stock and can easily be twinned in the future. I ran a super B on my 02 with 90 hp BD injectors and you had to watch the temps a bit but not bad, I would stay at or under 90 hp injectors with this turbo. I think I dynoed at around 450 hp and 750 tq with this combo with stock manifolds and an edge comp. Man that was a long time ago. Killer B would be a bit much turbo for decent daily driver on a second gen and towing but can be twinned up too.

First job I ever took off the farm was during the summer of 1989 between my junior and senior year of high school 16 years old working for my local county weed board spraying noxious weeds for $8.50 / hr. worked mon-thurs 32 hours a week for about 6 weeks and still had time to go home and work on the farm some more yet and have never worked for less than that my entire career.

Extra Life Oil Filters
Your post seems to be jumbled up and out of order. I can say from what we see a lot is that sodium indicates an antifreeze leak into the oil, the sodium usually starts to come up just before it throws a positive test for coolant.
