Brake/Park Brake Indicator
I'm not worried about soldering in a new LED, just would have been a little easier for troubleshooting purposes to swap bulbs. Oh well...

Brake/Park Brake Indicator
My "brake" light on the instrument cluster comes on from time to time. I never gave it much thought, because it was the only light illuminated. I figured it was the switch at the parking brake. Now...after reading the FSM, it appears this light can also be an indicator of a malfunction in the braking system. I did not know that. After reading, if there is a malfunction it is normally accompanied by a "ABS" indicator . Like I said, I don't have that, but it appears that is because that light doesn't work. I went out and turned the key to on and all of the indicator lights come on except the ABS light. The FSM says that this is a LED that is soldered to the board. So if this is the case, I guess I can't just swap that out with a functional bulb....that sucks . Do normal code scanner read ABS faults or do I have to get something specific?

Teardown and Rebuild
Was the process for applying the liner coating very difficult? Was it a spray on application? Something I would like to do in the future. I am impressed with how good that looks.

I was just yanking your chain. I don't think the chrome accent on the mirrors looks bad at all. I wouldn't change them, or should I say, the wife wouldn't let me buy a new set .

Leave the mirrors on and cover the chrome with some of that bed liner.

I'll second that.

Your truck turned out really nice. I really like the liner you put on the rockers. Hopefully you get your fuel leak fixed soon. So what type break-in procedure do you do from here? any fluid have to be changed after so many miles? Can you pull a trailer now or do you need to wait until the motor is broke-in?

Lets see who you are!
Buffalo Wild Wings in the back ground??? Well, I guess I know where I am going for lunch.

Hydroboost pulsing
Give us details on the truck. Is the noise and pulsing only when the brakes are applied? I had a bad rotor a few months ago and I thought it was my steering. My pads were shot as well as the rotors. Some of the symptoms you are I seeing are similar to what I had.

How often must I donate?
What is preferred for donations, split up over the year or just one donation annually?

Help please, pinhole in raidiator.
I have a t stat in my truck that I bought from Orielly's. The engine temperature is up and down, especially when pulling. I ought to replace it.

Teardown and Rebuild
I'd love to buy or build a bumper as well. I wouldn't be satisfied at how it would come out if I were to build one and I can't afford to buy one...so I guess I'll just keep dreaming.

Ok. But having a good insurance plan can make any type of accident better on the owner. Liability vs Full Coverage for example. I more or less brought it up because with my luck I would put that much into a truck and have something happen whether my fault, someone else's or an act of God. Years ago I was in the bank signing on a vehicle and the car I was buying was parked outside. Some one came into the office and asked who owned "the white Subaru". With a smile I said it is now me, then she said someone just hit it . What's that saying? "If it weren't for bad luck...."I forget the rest .

With all of the time and money put into this truck I would makes sure I had pretty good insurance coverage. It has been fun to follow on the forum.

Sad news
When it comes down to it as long as you (but mainly the wife) are happy that is all that matters. Like most everyone else, I've owned Fords, Chevs, and Dodges and they were all great vehicles and served me well. Each has its unique weaknesses and those like us get a kick out of overcoming those. Hopefully you got what you wanted out of your truck. These trucks seems to hold their value pretty well in my area. Not sure if it is the same in yours.

Sad news
That would be awful to have a truck that is notorious for bad fuel pumps

Sad news
I don't think my truck is very loud and it doesn't annoy me in the least. Of course 17 years working around Fighter Jets may have something to do with that I should have taken hearing protection more seriously.

Thinking again about 47re to nv4500 swap
It would be nice to have a donor truck parked close by.
