  1. I just bought new RV275's from DAP for $340. That came with the ORings from the cross over tubes.
  2. I just bought them from DAP and they came with the injectors. I am good to go, now just waiting for a day off to install them.
  3. So what is the story behind it?
  4. So at the risk of asking further dumb questions and prove how little I know...In this picture, #1 is the cross-over tube and #2 is the O-ring that everyone suggests to replace?
  5. I am looking for RV275s and both Vulcan and DAP have them on their site with some differences. Can anyone tell me if these are the same and if so, why the price difference. DAP-The price is $345 and a $100 core charge will be added to that. This also lists as "marine", is that not usable on my truck? It comes with an installation kit, (Injector connecting tube removal tool/nut, copper sealing washers and O-rings for the connector tube). Are those O rings for the cross over tube, is that the same thing? http://dieselautopower.com/bosch-new-injector-rv275-marine-300-40hp-432193635/ Vulcan-$424.99 plus $200 core charge will be added. This doesn't show as marine, and it states that they come with O rings and coppers installed. http://www.vulcanperformance.com/New-Bosch-RV-275-Injectors-p/rv275.htm The part numbers (0432193635) show that they are the same item and the description says they are new, but am I missing something that justifies the price difference? If I bought from DAP there would be about $25 in sales tax but I could pick up the items rather than mess with shipping....DAP seems like the best deal but I worry that I am not seeing something. Any way, any help would be appreciated.
  6. I've looked around online and there are many people saying that these o rings are just common o rings bought at a local hardware store. Is that accurate?
  7. I really hope this doesn't drive me to have to replace my clutch.
  8. Great, it was advice like this I was looking for. I'll get those on order as well.
  9. The wife gave me the go ahead so my plans are to install RV275s, an Edge Comp, and a stealth plate. Is there anything special that I am going to have to buy to install these (ie washers, mounting hardware?) I am hoping to improve MPGs a little and make the truck more efficient. Thanks for the help
  10. I've been in traffic like that driving through Seoul. It was beyond insane.
  11. My opinion isn't worth much....but I would start out simple before delving into wiring and PCM/ECMs. Verify that you have fuel flowing, I know you said that you can hear the lift pump, but that may not mean that you are getting fuel. How did your fuel filter look?
  12. an increase of 1-2 MPG would be pretty big in my book, I'd take that any day and be happy with it.
  13. Just a thought..... If you do go down the road to a new VP44, maybe look at installing a fuel pressure gauge. That will help you catch any future problems and offer some insurance to your new IP.
  14. I needed a way to open our chicken coop during the day when no one was home. We don't get home until after 4pm in the afternoon and in the winter that only leaves an hour or so until it is time to put the birds up for the night. If we let them out early in the day they lay eggs all over the yard and then it becomes pointless to feed them. I went to the junk yard and bought a trunk actuator and then I bought a 12v transformer and 120v timer from a thrift store. After playing with some scrap metal this is what I came up with. Every day around 10:30am the door FLIES open and the birds go about free ranging.
  15. It looks to be in pretty good condition. have you driven it? If your worried about the underside take it to a shop during a test drive and crawl under there to get a better look. I would jack up each tire and check for play. When you are driving it does it feel like excessive play or wandering? Is truck completely stock or are there aftermarket mods? How about the lift pump, is it stock? Do any of the service receipts show the injection pump has bee replaced? Check your fluids to see if they have been changed? Hopefully the power steering, brake fluid, and coolant has been changed a few times during it life. Having the service records is great as long as they show correct servicing. The transmission oil should have been changed as well.
  16. Sounds like you have it narrowed down to a short somewhere.
  17. If you are sure there are no bad fuses, I would start looking at wiring? Are you tapped into an power to run an accessory or mod? Look for bad splices and connectors? How about water in connectors? Grounds? Chafed wires? Get a multi meter and shoot wires for continuity.
  18. I've seen videos like this where the trailer will flip but the hitch will continue to hold. Maybe it did hold and it ripped the whole receiver off the truck, not even the safety chains kept the truck and trailer together. Watching that truck slide sideways on the road it is a wonder it didn't flip. Somebody could have really been hurt or killed by this.
  19. Holy Cow!! That would ruin a trip. I've never had anything close to this happen but it seems that slowing down would have helped. I imagine that tapping the trailer brakes on the brake controller may have straightened the trailer up. It never ceases to amaze me how often I am passed on the freeway by a undersized truck (or better yet, a SUV) pulling an oversized trailer. Even full size trucks like the one in this video seem to fly down the freeways at the speed limit or a few MPH over. No thanks, I hope I never experience this.
  20. What is drive pressure? and What does knowing your drive pressure do for you?
  21. What a relief and good on them for not throwing parts at it first. Too bad it cost you a weekend of worrying.
