  1. they prob kill themselves after dealing with all the oddities of the electoronics.
  2. come to think of it my device is also in airplane mode. I don't seem to have issues with the app itself, but I know others do.
  3. make sure you hit the report button.
  4. Yep, there is no longer any anti stall / smoothing funciton. Sub 950 rpm you get oem fueling. This MAY cause more smoke on huge injector trucks, but I haven't noticed a different.
  5. alright so I am back. From everything I have read and seen I dont think there is a lot to unlock in the psg. The ECM is what is controlling everything, the PSG is just following commands. I don't really see what is the gain by unlocking the psg truthfully. I doubt there are any major fueling / Timing tables in the psg. Can you direct me to information that states that we would really gain anything by unlocking / flashing the psg? I dont think there is much there other than a offset to say x duration = x fueling command. I am very curious to see where you take this whole thing though.
  6. I am always amazed how different the vp44 trucks respond. Something as simple as a vp44 change makes the truck have a new personality.
  7. I will reply more in depth later, but the issue with the 65 hp limit, is actually a 2^12 limit in the communication protocol. Is you can't fuel more than 4096 and timing can't be more than 4096. In theory you code make the psg decide the fueling command as a higher us of fuel, but you are still limited by the protocol in place. Just keep in mind the VP isn't actually "limiting fueling". That 65 is just how much fuel the system was designed to handle. I would guess that wiretap adds about %20-%25 over what canbus tuners can do now.
  8. Check your map sensor. It might be stuck reading a higher boost level. Had this issue way back when.
  9. dunno. He prob assumed you had boughten a box recently. New boxes are shipping with V2 pre loaded.
  10. yep, the phone side can only display what the box is sending out. The older v1 tunes do not show timing value. You will need the V2 tuning base flash. Then you choose the v2 vehicle profile 2.5 Then you can tune and see timing and the canbus fueling command.
  11. honestly don't remember. I will call monday and have them move it to your name. pm me a last name
  12. Can other people reproduce this issue? I can sit at 1100 all day long and it just purrs away. Let me know
  13. Ensure you have the v2 base flash on the box under the hood. Once you have that then you need to select the v2 vehicle profile. One will not work without the other.
  14. I would run it and see how it acts. You won't wreck anything.
  15. What about that tune does not fit towing application? Too much fuel, to little? is it too hot etc?
  16. So from 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm the quad "fights" oem timing. The closer you are to 1000 rpm the more oem timing you get as RPM come up to 1500 the more quadzilla timing you get. So if rpm is at 1250 and oem timing is asking for 16*, but your 1500 setting is 14* you will be getting 15*. If oem is asking for 11* and 1500 is 14* then you will be getting 12.5* Fuel load timing is not used until after 1500 rpm and light throttle timing is not used until after 1200 rpm. as RPMS approach 1500 you will see timing approach your 1500 setting. It may be dropping or it may be increasing depending on what OEM is doing. I am digging into the code giving this code a once over looking for any issues. would you say you bucking is when timing is increasing towards the 1500 setting or decreasing towards thee 1500 setting?
  17. Don't give CPP any money. He is not a stand up dude.
  18. A non running truck is worth scrap value..... period.
  19. The CR ecm tuning is just worlds more complex than the vp stuff. I drool over the CR stuff lol
  20. retarding timing will move the flame front later into the stroke, this will cause more heat energy to be pushed out the exhaust valve and into the turbo. it will result in less downward force on the piston however.
  21. "theory, as I understand it beyond this point" Retarding the timing will move more heavy / energy into the exhaust. More energy into the exhaust will help get the turbo going faster. However I have no idea how this is suppose to reduce smoke right off idle. I have noticed that the OEM timing curve will spike timing right offidle. I have seen 17* or more as soon as you touch the throttle. Is this to help offidle smoke? No idea.
  22. Fixing it so it shows the right speed based on tire size? Yep It should be fixed in this tune. don't mind the name Its just the one on my desktop. adrv2XXXX.exe
  23. look sliek you are subject to a similar test as I am. Here;s my thread covering what was done.
  24. You have to be a trailer dealer that sells them. Thankfully I found a place out in peyton, Next friday 2 pm. It's not much closer, but at least it isn't up the pass. Funny the DMV would only give me a 10 day temp tag, which is not long enough to legally drive the trailer out to the place to get it appraised..... Oh well The montana perm plates are going back on it asap.
  25. 3" for the uppers and 3.5-3" 45* bend. I did need to boil the end of the boot and stretch it over a large masion jar to get it to fit on the intercooler.
