  1. I kinda wish I could do some testing with some of his 6 x .011's to see whats possible. I've also been mulling over doing some 7 x .010's with 10-20 bar of extra pop pressure......even though he said that's a bad idea.
  2. wow someone did good work on that bad boy
  3. I can't remember that far back. Honestly the only real big change is that "cruise timing" is now "light throttle timing" it works based on load. If load is under X% ( whatever that tuning variable is) then you get your base map, plus light throttle timing * load / 100 It has netted me a good bit more city mpg and much more reliable cruising mpg when in situation other than flat ground. other than that some basic bug fixes that were hard to even consider bugs.
  4. ensure the latest V2 base flash is on the box under the hood. there was an issue with free reving that I didn't catch as I never free rev my truck. The latest flash resolves the issue however. and here is how to load the flash
  5. good work. Sounded like quite the battle.
  6. I have good friends in Palo Iowa and Vinton haha. You might have to some time.
  7. Here's the 4k base tune Here is the thread with our tune variables Your tune settings will be a bit different since you are 4k. added stretch and rpm limit, 2 more timing variables.
  8. I hate laws like that, "visible smoke" is %100 opinion.
  9. I would ask the dmv what the exact requirmenets are for smog. even a stock 2nd gen will give a puff of a smoke on a snap test. here's my emissions test from yesterday with a 7 x .009's and a the Quadzilla adr at 7000' altitude. Last I checkd cali was %25 or %30 ocapity requirement. I think cali suffers from a lot of emissions techs that don't know what the requirements are.
  10. Look at the sw5 data log I posted. That's the egt issue. The tst can't pull fuel beyond just Turing off. Not gonna help your current egt issues while towing if you currently have issues. You need a timing box so running the tst alone isn't a great solution. If you want a Max of 450hp then stick with the he351ve. There are hundreds of different vgt sizes for each of the classes. You can't really custom tunewith the smarty or tst, you can choose levels and settings that someone else defined. Again look at the datalogs, the smarty s03 is very aggressive offidle on any level. Some guys have good luck with the Revo settings, my truck didn't really like anything I did. It was a smoke show no matter what.
  11. I would resinstall the App on the device / try a different device. The box under the hood shouldn't be causing this, I tested with the 4k box I have here and it loaded without issues.
  12. cranked up I should have about %75 more wiretap and %30 more canbus haha.
  13. yea those look pretty close for that.
  14. didn't ask. they switched up the report they give you as well so it is no longer listed. next year I am gonna jack up the fuel a good bit more now that I know whats up. it's amazing what a datlog can show you.
  15. Well it passed with flying colors today. Not as much power as I wanted, but from the datalog I could have thrown a bunch more fuel at the truck. I wasn't exactly sure how they did the run so my tune wasn't setup right for what they actually did. Here's the run. The way they do it is take her up to 65 ish mph then increase the load on the dyno until rpms fall. they mark opacity at 60, 50 and 40 mph. Full data log You can see how canbus doesn't stay at max, This run ended up being about stock fueling duration + ~%30 wiretap ~540 uS . On the street this tune does max duration + %50 wiretap Guessing about a ~50 hp difference between the lug down dyno and street. Anyways the opacity test results, ignore the TQ figure Line 73 of the datalog is the 60 mph reading (85 % duration), line 87 is the 50 mph (%78 duration), line 92 is 40( %100 duration, but it looks like they recorded the power mid downshift). The guy says stock 2nd gens typically put down ~160 hp on during this test. Little comparison to last year using the Smarty S03 on %50 power mode. Last year was %7 opacity with 98 hp( i have the sheet somewhere), so even though I didn't hit my 350 hp goal I nearly tripled my power with an only %1 increase in Opacity.
  16. The import / export app is still in beta and is not publicly released yet. It is coming very soon.
  17. If you want smoke control change from the smarty. It vastly overfuels offidle according to the datalogs I took. As you get bigger injectors you need to pull fuel off idle to help with smoke. No turbo is gonna help that offidle smoke, that's all in the tuning. This controller will handle any holset ve turbo, but smoke control is a result of the tuning. Honestly my 351ve loves my 7 x .009 dfi injectors plus the quad. My daily tune only hazes on wot take off. I wouldn't go any bigger on the turbo unless you are gonna stepup injectors beyond 7 x 010's Here's my setup Define your power goals and I can help let you know if a vgt is a good choice or not.
  18. so no matter what on any custom tune you can't change levels? only on the default tune you can change levels?
  19. haha but I didn't build your trans....however I did build mine.
  20. how long are you waiting until you try and change the level? if you restart the app you can change levels again?
  21. Doesn't matter so long as the Iquad app has connection to the box under the hood.
