  1. what caused him to get new used injectors would be my question?
  2. from my point of view a used set of CR injectors is a big no no. Honestly sounds like you got started down the wrong path and now there is an issue with the supplied parts. I would be looking into the cylinder's to verify that whatever happened before did not cause issues, then I would be looking at a new set of injectors.
  3. The s200 gxe would be what I would do now days. wick fast spool and supports 400 hp.
  4. Do what you want, you aren't gaining anything to any of your goals. That 64 isn't even a good fit for what you want. Sell your stuff and get a 62 sxe if you want 500 hp or a 57 gxe if you are happy with 400.
  5. your smaller turbo is already a 64. you are trading him for the same turbo, plus he gets a 2nd and the piping. Not exactly a square trade in my mind.
  6. you bought a truck geared towards high rpm fun rather than day to day duties. I would be selling the twin setup and replace it with a single turbo setup and some 7 x .010's rather than the 225's and ditching the 4k box. I would do a 62 sxe or a 57 sxe depending on how much hp you want. if you want 500 hp then a 62sx if you want 400 hp then 57sxe
  7. s364 s475 is a 64 75 twin setup. Not sure where th s366 is coming from as you have now listed 3 turbos. s364, s475, and s366/ You need to figure out what you have before you do anything. the 4k is a race only box and shoul dnot be on a street driven truck.
  8. With a proper tune on the quad a boost leak you will not see big issues since the quad is pulling fueling based on boost levels. This is because the quadzilla is waiting for boost to add fuel. each psi level is a "step limit " on the amount of fuel. However with an edge or a bad tune on the quad the tune is effectively trying to add fuel to get boost up, which is the opposite of what a proper quad tune is doing. OP might be seeing a big difference due to the boost leaks depending on how the tune is setup for his truck. If it is a heavy fuel tune then I could see egt's and smoke as a result of a large number of boost leaks.
  9. @Mopar1973Man was that with a proper tune on the quad?
  10. that 64 single will not spool faster than the hx35 s366 setup. a 64 is geared more to mid to upper rpm power as it is not a small turbo for a vp truck. your twin setup should spool extremely fast. time to figure out why it isn't.
  11. a tune for 125's will not be smoke free for 200's or 225's. Ditch the 4k box get a regular adr box with a tune for your injectors. with the quad you can tune yourself, with the smarty you will need to fork out $$ to tune it to your injectors. Smoke control is in the tune. I could run smoke free with my old 7 x .012's.
  12. ditch the 4k box. a street driven truck has no place running it. if the injectors are not DDP brand then you should be able to clean it up fine. the 125's + smart + 64 setup is not great in my mind, I would want way more injector than 125's.
  13. Depending on your desired path I would go 1 of two ways 1. new turbo path, 7 x .010's s300 57/65/12 from dap trans upgrades. This would be a killer vp setup for a happy 400 hp. 2. used turbo path. 7 x .010's he351cw trans upgrades. This would be a nother great 400 hp setup, but it isn't as plug and play. a hx35 is fine turbo but they are old and the performance isn't a huge jump from a hy35. If money was very tight then sure.

  15. DDP or Dynomite diesel performance are the smokey hot terribly overpriced ones. DFI or Ducky Fuel Injection makes good injectors.
  16. I heard you say island, I am on board with that still feeling pretty lucky, but it will be -40* soon lol
  17. it's programmed into the ecm and automatically trips on if it is cold out. Here is the TSB that covers it. What you are describing sounds like oem high idle might be trying to kick on and the quadzilla is fighting with it's own high idle.
  18. Codes dont clear by removing power. They are stored in memory. Do you know if you have OEM high idle enabled in the ecm? If so you need to ensure the quad's high idle is disabled as they do not play together nice.
