Trans leak...list of todo items?
I used rubber hose with clamps to fix a couple pin holes I had, it worked for some time, but as with everything the got worse and worse, so just keep an eye on them. The port for trans temp is for 1/8" sensor, but you could use any sensor as there are various brass fittings out there to adapt. DAP vulcan etc should all have what you need. Also you can install a bung in the oem pan for just a couple dollars. I think oriellyes had one for $4, just drill and hole, install the fittings and gasket and you are done.

yep both oval the 01 sensor is the commonly used one. Typically if you buy a 02 sensor you actually get an 01 sensor with a pigtail.

no, The wrong sensor would make your truck a dog. I suppose you could flash the ecm with a later truck file, then rewrite everything to make the map work etc...but it is much more likely you have a 00 model and he has a 01 model.

Wont work. The boost reading compared to voltage is Way different between the round and oval sensors. The comp needs to be reprogrammed to work with the other sensor type. 00 trucks should have the round connector, who know when the actual 00 /01 switch was made thought.

I think I see them go for ~$400-$500 on CF

automatic transmission late shift
Try some stock sized tires. Has the truck always been like this? The 1st gear shift rpm is about right, but due to the tire size it is ~25 mph vs 235/85/16 ~18mph 2nd to 2200 rpm really isn't that far off either, assuming you are at ~30%-%50 tps or so. I would image you would be since you are having to spin the big tires with 3.55 gears. 3rd I don't understand what you said happens, can you explain in better detail? 4th same don't understand. You might change your OSS on the trans just to see if 3rd and 4th act better, but unless you regear or get smaller tires I think you will be unhappy. I wouldn't worry about the engine Remember your MPH is WAY off with those tires also.

p122 and engine surging
If you really torque the wiretap down it could cause issues.

Most tuners fuel under the stock curve, which gives you more low end torque, which in turn gives you better MPG IF, BIG IF, you can keep your foot out of it. The more power you shove down low the more MPG you will get within reason. Not a bad price. You won't hurt anything by running it on 65 hp mode.

The urls have changed. You can use the search function to find most everything still.

Best built tranny for towing?
Triple disc plays somewhat of a role, but shifting harshness and lockup harshness can be set in the VB

Very similar. all the none wiretap boxes are very close to each other. smarty is the most aggressive, but still 65 hp;

Talk to Dynamic about building you a VB that is less harsh

sounds like you were happy with the hp number you have. I'd just get a cheap used Edge EZ for a few hundred if you are wanting the scangauge to work fully.

I have a Smarty to play with for a couple days
Just loading the smarty turns on high idle. the smarty keeps that flash on the truck once you load it.

Who Has the Most Miles on a Dodge Ram Automatic Trans
I would say that you are nearing the end of useful life of the clutches in the trans. But if your truck had an easy life then I wouldn't worry much, You might do a band adjustment and verify you still have clutch surface on the bands. Use that as a rough indicator of tranny life.

Testing Alternator for noise
I have a Extech ex470 with IR http://www.testequipmentdepot.com/products.htm?item=EX470&ref=gbase&gclid=Cj0KEQjwiKS3BRCU-7XQ75Te3NoBEiQAA2t_xIMjleuCBgGCJfxsyUA2iXf0sef3ZcbnXxN-AhWOjX0aAlv78P8HAQ It does auto ranging etc so it is nice to use. Seems to about %50 of the cost a fluke with the same features. The IR proves useful when trying to sort issues like misfire etc.

Notes from the wilderness!!!
I really think we spend WAY to much time trying to GMO crops..... RATHER we should be trying to GMO pigs, splice in the DNA from a salamander that allows legs and stuff to grow back. Imagine the war free world we would have if you could walk out to the barn and use a razor to shave off some bacon from a pig each morning....... Back to reality , I need to have a heart to heart with our chickens and re-explain the "lay or die" slogan I painted in their coop. Production has been down for a week or so.

Testing Alternator for noise
The 2 lined solid and dot V section measurement is DC. The wavey V is the AC. I doubt that multimeter can read AC volts as low as you need to test.
