  1. Great to hear, I have often wondered about doing what you did.
  2. I would be looking at the abs computer again, have the people refix it.
  3. I love the animals version of that song.
  4. Bad cross over tubes , tube orings, blown out vp44 front gasket, crossover tube not seated well, injector not seated.
  5. I think that one was #24-#25 You might add a half bag of coal for a #30 turkey, but I dunno you would have to test it. All I know is any bird I have done so far cooks within one bag. Pretty much a big pressure cooker. if you are going to do it cut the top off of the keg vs the bottom like I did. It will make like better for you.
  6. Trashcan turkey, but I use a keg It will cook any size turkey, in 1 bag of charcoal. Always moist always tasty. Pretty much put the turkey on a post, put a couple 1/2 drank beers in with it. Any spices, then cover with the keg ( bottom is cut off) pile coal around it and drink the rest of the beer..... when the coal is burned down the turkey is done. Another one,
  7. haha. Yea I love my Wife, she is awesome, since she is so awesome I am ok with some buttons....Even if they are sometimes dead shorted As for me I like to tinker. If you asked my Wife she would tell you that I like to find small meaningless issues and create a VERY complex fix in place. Horses, chickens, dogs, guns, trucks, cooking, fishing,
  8. I love it when it is subzero. Everything is pristine. everything is crystallized, I would rather have it -30*f than 90 *f above. Colorado is sucking my will to live. The colder it gets the better the snow mobiles run !!
  9. Got a text from my mom this weekend. Been 45*f and no snow on the ground up in International Falls MN. Normally it hasn't been above freezing for a month. sad. I am going up there for Christmas, but I am afraid it is going to be nice. I am sick of it being hot in winter.
  10. Yea very strange. So in order to get around this we need to put a note in that you should not flip the switch into any mode until 30 seconds of running? Nick
  11. What kind of service records?
  12. I ohm'd out the speed sensor, I think it came back at 96 something. I think I shorted out something while it was under the dash and cause that pin on the arduino to fail. Been looking for a reason to go with a mega and a new cleaner shield for all the wires.
  13. well I am banging my head on my desk trying to figure out why my shaft speed is no longer working. I found that the 5v rail on my shield was no longer 5v, but after I fixed that issue I am still not getting any readings. Ohm'd out all the wireing and it is all good. All I am left with is the pin 8 on my arduino is burnt up. it might be time for me to build a new controller that isn't "beta" dunno.
  14. they work differently as in you won't have a gallon of fuel in the cylinder, but if the tip blows off etc you are still going to have big issues. They can piss if the nozzle is stuck, but only the fuel that was pressurized by the last cycle of the injection pump, not the rail.
  15. Get your injectors tested. I am sure Jacob at DAP is more than willing to help you out.
  16. Valve seals go bad, but typically the oil leaking from a valve seal leak will burn off pretty quick. If it smokes regardless of the time driven I would guess it is a injector. What you can do to help source what the white smoke is. Let it idle and smoke like the dickens. Use a piece of white paper, Hold it to the tailpipe for a minute or 2, ( long enough to allow it to collect on the paper. Doing so will allow whatever the smoke is to collect, cool, and you should be able to ID it easier. If it is coolant you should see the paper turn greenish, if it is oil / fuel you should see blackish, but you should be able to ID it by smell at that point.
  17. i'd do spings myself, but a leveling kit should work too... I don't like the idea of a leveling kit, but really not a huge issue.
  18. If you are not loosing coolant or oil (to white looking for oil in my mind) I would say the first thing to do would be to have your injectors tested. It looks EXACTLY like a truck with a PO216 code and timing that isn't working. since you have no codes and no driving issues I think it is mech related timing issue vs the vp44 computer timing issue, having a leaking injector would alter timing causing the white smoke when off the throttle.
  19. EGT"S change at all? Hand calc the mpg or overhead? SMoke doesn't go away in summer does it? Doesn't reduce when the truck is up to temp? how long are you typical drives?
  20. I think since you are overfueled across the board it wouldn't be as noticeable as if you had a underfueled situation. No difference in how it runs / or MPG? what are your typical MPG?
  21. I am guessing you have a pissing/sticking injector. I would take them out and have them tested. I think it is %100 unburnt diesel. Reason it goes away on accel is you have air to burn it due to boost, at idle you have very little air and are vastly overfueled.
  22. haha I was trying to figure out where on the page you were seeing a P code lol. I have such bad writing I think I can read anything.
