Larry - Starting Problems
There is a code stored, 1693 cannot be alone. try another scanner. 5psi is too low, bosch specs 10 as the min, we like to see 14psi min. VERY strange issue though.

Larry - Starting Problems
Moved your thread to the powertrain sections. Any codes? White smoke when it does start? Will it ever start without tapping the injection pump?

Suction tube or sump kit
When you put the fass in what lift pump did your truck have? Was it on the block or in the tank? You should always have a needle valve or snubber before your fuel pressure gauge. Your issue is weird though, Have you opened up the tank cover yet to see what's in the tank now?

Two cylinder go kart. redneck go cart.
that thing is awesome. I would DD it any day.

Rpms Jumping
Can you go into more detail on how it shifts and when it jumps? The 47re is a 4 speed trans so I am confused by your post. Shifting goes, 1, 2nd,3rd, 3rd with tc lockup, 4th, 4th with tc lockup. 3rd lockup happens around 35 mph, 4th should happen 45 mph or right after the 3-4 shift. If it is jumping after you hit 4th then the truck is jumping in and out of lockup. How rapid is the junping? x times a second? If it is very rapid then I would say your tc is getting bad, if it is slower I would say your at is causing ac noise which is causing lockup to jump.

Hi from Morrison Colorado!!!
Hey jason, glad you got your switch! Knew some people from your area when I was in college.

Explain to me how the 47re shifts
Sorry I meant, does governor pressure increase from 1sts, to 2nd, then for the 3rd shift? governor pressure doesn't drop off or jump back to low after each shift does it? IE: Random Numbers, 1st 1000 rpm 5psi, 2000 10psi, 3000, 15psi, 2nd shift 1000 rpm 5psi, 2000 10psi, etc etc etc

DIY: Lockup Switch install into Gear Selector Arm
I would highly recommend a momentary switch for the lockup. It is VERY nice to have it only lockup when your pushing the button. Even though I would love to automate 2nd gear lockup, and I am actively working on it, I can manually shift 1-4 controlling lockup in 2-4 without issues. 2nd locked is a monster.

47RE 1-2 shifts happening to quickly
I would say you should replace all the solenoids and such as a first step. I think you are on the right track.

I would start you look in the running lights section. I am guessing you have a short and blew a fuse. Have you checked you IOD fuse?

He351ve stand alone Arduino controller code for 2nd Gen Cummins
Alright version 1.05 is out and downloadable with the orginal link. biggest changes are better top end responsiveness to keep shaft speeds in check and boost levels up. IE: rather than jumping to large position at above 140k rpm it now walks out slowly. It also takes into account shaft speed accelleration. IE if the turbo speed is above 140k but slowing down the turbo won't keep trying to open. If it is above 140k and accel it will open. Also, the lcd has been update to show turbo speeds as 35 k vs 35,000 rpm. this makes it way easier to read. I have also changed it so it only updates the shaft speed every 4th time the lcd refreshes. Other updates as in the change log.

We have a Factory Service Manual for download in the download section, but due to the cost of bandwidth we limit downloads to donating members only. The FSM has full wiring diagram in it.

Explain to me how the 47re shifts
That's why we have been trying to bribe him to come over to the good side. Dynamic, So in theory you could control the shifting using the governor solenoid to increase / decrease pressure one way or another at a given speed and TPS input? I am assuming that is how the anteater controller from Firepunk works? So then does governor pressure increase all the way from 1-3 shifts? I am assuming pressure does not drop when the trans shifts? I am going to read your post a few more times to ensure I am reading everything correctly. Another question for you. Is there a test port in the trans that I can watch for pressure at for the 2-3 shift and log shift points at given speed and TPS values?

Alright, Here is another simple one of me installing the switch into the kick panel. I just used my andriod phone and youtube haha. Nothing edited. Wrong video the first time

Alright here is a video of the basic operation and what the high idle swtich does in each mode. Wonderful, I put mine in the same spot finally today haha.

haha yea I don't bother trying to make her angry, shes already mad enough. Mine did somehow start at 0*f without no grids ( PO had them wired backwards) a few years ago, but pretty sure that was an act of god haha.

Yea you won't have any issues posting pictures / saying stuff on CF. just the staff and so forth over here. I finally got mine actually installed, so I took some videos. I will have to do a video of the 3cyl and EB enabled, I can get egt temps of 1000*f without much issue.

Explain to me how the 47re shifts
The anteater looks like a great product. My thought process is small at this point, I only want to disable lockup for the 2-3 shift automatically.

Explain to me how the 47re shifts
Alright, I am trying to work through an idea of mine in regards to lockup. What I am trying to do is figure out how to predict the 1-2 shift and predict the 2-3 shift. So the question I have is what happens to make the VB decide, Time to shift into 2nd. and what happens in the vb to shift from 2-3. Is it a pressure difference between the tv and vb pressure? I don't really understand what happens in the rats nest of a VB. So is there something I can watch VIA a pressure switch or whatever to show that the trans is going to shift? Can someone smarter than me explain the magic of how a 47re shifts in low gears? Reason I am thinking of this is the advent of the Firepunk anteater tranny controller. How is it that they can control all shifting 1-4 without needing a special VB? http://www.firepunk.com/anteater/

No you are right in thinking that 1/4 is too small. I forgot to update the install direction. Needs to be a 3/8 hole. Pull the switch out and redrill the hole 3/8 big so the threads come through the hole fully. Then use the locknut to secure it.
