  1. 300$ for a air filter is a large pill to swallow.
  2. Interest would be based on some specs Price, Size, Published flow numbers, and price. I am interested now, but I am just like ever other stupid consumer, lets see some pics and details.
  3. I would like to see some numbers, and so forth. Pricing? Who makes the filters? are they long standing like Wix or Donaldson? Detailed pictures, inside, out, etc. Dimensions?
  4. So a stock 47re will onyl lock in 3rd and 4th. IF you come to a stop with the lockup switch engaged, grounding out the lockup wire, then the truck should stall, provided the tranny hasn't downshifted on it's own yet. Now remember locked shifts are VERY hard on a tranny so keep that in mind. To test you tc, drive from 0-30 at low throttle and count the shifts. You should shift into 3rd around 25-30 mph. engage the lockup at 30mph if you are in 3rd and see if you rpms drop.
  5. Got ya. Yea I don't think ANY he351ve controller besides mine and www.lilbb.com's controller takes shaft speed into consideration. Did about 250 miles today at 80 mph, work trip so mpg lol..... The turbo just sings. The truck feels great, injectors, timing, and canbus fueling make it nice to drive at 80 all day long. Mpgs seem pretty steady around 17-18.
  6. I don't know what fleece used, If they didn't use shaft speed and TPS there is no way you could prevent barking when running it hard.
  7. Yea. I'd say 20% of the time I will get a chirp if that high and I left off quickly. I think this is due to the Arduino doing something else right when I lift and that delay causing the vanes to not jump open.
  8. I sometimes if You are running VERY hard yes it will chirp, However my code is set to go vanes wide open if turbo speed is over 75,000 and TPS i below %5. I never get any barking unless I pull out of the throttle VERY quick with the Quadzilla turned all the way up and at 2,500 rpm at WOT.
  9. I've had a couple of days behind the wheel of my "new" curve( just closing the vanes across the board by 1cm-2cm, and the difference is huge. The truck seems to always be ready to jump out of it's own pants. Smoke is down significantly, and boost/power across the board is way better. The top end WOT vane position is now SLIGHTLY overspeeding what I like, but I can make some changes to handle that. Still mulling over how I want the cruise positions to behave when you step on the gas beyond the %20 throttle it takes to cruise.
  10. Agree'd this is more than just a VERY cool project. Datalogging is something that all pre EFI really need.
  11. what part of the above are you not seeing/? Are you able to get to "my settings"? Is the email & password showing? You should see the right field by clicking "my settings" Then by clicking "email and Password"
  12. well there are a couple things that could be wrong -The tc clutch could be completely shot. -The lockup solenoid could be shot -The vss is doing something wacky. -wiring issue -your pcm( i think that is what commands lockup) is shot To troubleshoot I would do a lockup switch. if it will lock with the switch you can rule out the tc, the solenoid, wiring.
  13. yea some specs on the TC would be good, what stall? How many clutches?
  14. I am itching to get out of the "big city" pop. 403,000
  15. Humm interesting I suppose the effective leverage arm of the turbine is different compared to the compressor.
  16. Better? I tried to flip the 2nd and 3rd.
  17. Let's head honcho guys meet in the mod section.
  18. Make sure you use the "more reply opitions" button when trying to upload and image. then use the attachement button at the bottom of the page to upload the image. When creating and article we will get you a full image manager that you can directly link to.
  19. so according to that map then the he351 flows nearly 90lb/min then right? even though it would be at %65 efficient and turbo speeds of 130k ( assuming that is the top line) That's way beyond the 69 lb/min most spec the super hx40 at. Just doesn't make sense, but I guess if holset says mass flow is lb/min then the map says nearly 90 lb/min. Humm.
  20. couple good ones over the years Out in the canoe in a snow storm Guam Westcliffe co Man I have a couple good ones I forgot about Headlight out
  21. That map doesn't really make sense to me when compared to the specs in the other link. 850cfm is equal to what? 60ish lb/min? are they spec'ing it within the highest efficiency island only? But then the pressure ratio of 4.5 would mean the turbo was pushing nearly 50 psi? Mass flow means what? it can't be lb/min can it? if so then it flows a bunch more than anyone thinks it does. Everyone says the super will flow 70ish lb/min but that map shows it flowing nearly 90 lb/min. Again doesn't make sense. I just don't see the he351ve flowing 85 ln/min without blowing the compressor apart. I am assuming that the top speed line on the map is ~130k? maybe? I really wish holset would just publish good maps haha. Maybe I am reading it wrong?
  22. Plenty of ftp experience here. Just gotta dig it out from all the old system I have in my head.
  23. Yep the only maps I have seen were from the hx40 not the super 40.
