  1. Wasn't it CumminsDog who had all kinds of issues with one of those suppliers and ended up with a FASS?
  2. Yea I've read through them but haven't kept up with it. I don't have a 3rd gen so the injector issue of who can or can't sell the Bosch stuff really isn't a huge deal for me. The big concern I have is that a company as large and well known as DAP is in the business of selling injectors they shouldn't be selling them. As well as marketing them as brand new which apparently they aren't. Overall it just seems sketchy.
  3. So if one decides to go with counteracts or centeamics, you'd just install either and then take off all wheel weights and that's that?
  4. Whichever route you choose, the questions you asked will all be covered by the kit you buy. Filters can be purchased practically anywhere. I personally by passed the stock fuel filter with my FASS 150.
  5. Whaaaa??!! Pics or it didn't happen!! Lol honestly though I have no clue why mine wouldn't fit. The bracket and track bar took some persuading to even get them to fit, no way those dust boots were getting in there.
  6. Ah damn that's too bad you had to sell the truck but I totally understand. Glad to see you still checking in though. Hope you can land a 4th gen! They're pretty sweet indeed!!
  7. Dude!! Where you been?!
  8. The two bolts through the cross member were too small?
  9. Easy enough at least! I wasn't too thrilled about dropping the pan and all again, but it was my fault, and at least it got it all sorted out haha
  10. Well basically ran through all the diagnostic stuff on ISSPROs site and it seems like it's the amplifier that's bad, but I'll have to talk to ISSPRO and see what they say.
  11. Yea that's what I was thinking which is why I'm trying to find another source. I'm wondering if just hooking it to a constant 12v to check and see if it's working is what I'll need to do to verify.
  12. Hey guys, finally getting around to wiring up my trans gauge. It's the isspro ev gauge so it comes with the amplifier box. I'm already using a couple other key on 12v sources so looking to use another one if I can. Is there a list or diagram I can reference to check? I tried splicing into one one in already using but I'm not getting correct reading on th gauge so I'm trying to isolate the power to help troubleshooting.
  13. Every week?!? Mine's lucky to get washed once every few months
  14. I've been using the Hawk pads from Geno's, seem to work pretty well. They do get the wheels a bit dusty, but I keep a bottle of the McGuire's aluminum wheel polish and just spray them down with that every time I see it getting bad. Seems to keep things shiny and the cleaning is pretty easy.
  15. Stormin08 on CF seems to be happy with his NAPA line of heavy duty drag steering linkage. Sounds like it's a more heavy duty version of the oem one from the 4th gens.
  16. Cool well I'm just gonna run it at level 3 and see how it goes. I'm sure it'll be fine, just wanted to check.
  17. So just wondering if anyone's heard of any problems towing with the xzt on level 3? Reading through some of the manuals for the edge ez and it recommends NEVER towing on level 3 and with these two boxes being quite similar it got me wondering. Not sure if that's just a legal/responsibility thing that they use to cover themselves when people try turning up the power and towing and causing damage to their trucks or what, but just wanted to see what you guys thought.
  18. If you happen to loose that huge nut/bolt/sleeve like I did let me know! I have an extra
  19. Man that conversation sounds all too familiar!
  20. haha would've been a long drive with only 1st gear!
  21. I hear ya @dripley!! I certainly don't mind learning this way, as long as it's not an expensive one!! Talked to Jon about it and he said probably didn't break anything since it's working fine, but definitely made some things unhappy in there since the trans was essentially binding itself up. This has helped me understand how these transmissions work though, so at least I've gained that.
  22. Just wanted to post my experiences here for others to learn from my mistakes! Went through my 1500 mile trans filter change and band adjustment yesterday. All went relatively smooth, front band adjustment was pretty straight forward. Draining the fluid was a synch with the Goerend pan and drain plug. Dropped the pan and adjusted the rear band, installed new filter and got everything else plugged up. Put back in the fluid and fired up the truck, let sit for 30 seconds or so, and went to head around the block. As soon as the truck went to shift into 2nd it felt like the truck was trying to throw me through the windshield! Slowed down and tried to speed up again with same results, so I dropped down into 1st and crept around the block to my house. Made a call to Jon who told me it sounds like I didn't back out the rear band enough or at all, so I dropped fluid and pan again and re-checked. Turns out I must not of even backed off the rear band as it was just about 72in/lbs, so I got that adjusted correctly and the next test drive went fine. Just wanted to pass long this info for anyone else that may end up in the same boat as me!
  23. Jeebus! Hope that's not your truck! Definitely looks like it's installed upside down because the holes you see on the bottom there should've been screwed into the top!! No bueno! That end link looks like it's on it's last leg as well!
  24. Basically if you're going down a hill long enough while on the brakes the truck will automatically start downshifting to attempt to help slow the truck. It's a nice feature but I still like the hill assist start the best!
  25. I'd run it for a few days as it will more then likely drop a bit and see where it settles out. If it ends up back at the pressures you were seeing before either replace it with a 17psi Airdog spring from Vulcan, or tab in the top coil of the spring so the ball cant fall as far into the spring coil.
