  1. Again depending on your area, those prices sound pretty reasonable. At 200k for 10-12k I'd be expecting either a very well kept stock truck or one slightly more 'used' with some good supporting mods already done, both more then likely automatic. That's what I'd expect in my area though.
  2. I'd say 7500 for 360k isn't terrible pricing wise depending on your area, but you mentioned in the beginning of this thread that you want to keep things simple, and simple isn't going to come along with a truck with that many miles unless it's been WELL taken care. If you're not in a hurry to get the truck, just take your time and one will come along that'll be perfect.
  3. I went from non tow mirrors to the 4th gens mirrors and I couldn't be happier. I prefer the large convex on the end and when towing the passenger side 'zoom' is a nice feature. I haven't experienced the same issue that Killer mentioned.
  4. More then likely it'll just be sent your home with a fee, and that's if they actually send it. I'd just enjoy your vacation time!
  5. Heres what I got. https://www.1aauto.com/dodge-mirror-pair-trail-ridge-tr00054/i/trmrp00054?f=1111808&y=2002#product-description-tab Same options as what I have currently but they must've moved to a different manufacturer as mine was a different part number and no longer on their website. Looks like they have every option available though, up too power folding, led corner light, heated and peer adjust so just take your pick! Just make sure if youre you're replacing non-tow mirrors with any of those tow mirrors that you get the support brackets with the kit.
  6. Here's a pic for those needing a visual to go with @Dieselfuture'a description.
  7. I don't think upgrading to the 4th gen style is absolutely necessary but it does get rid of the Y style steering and the 4th gen has the T style which most prefer.
  8. I also have the 1aauto mirrors but 4th gen. Could never go back to stockers.
  9. I'd be fine between 4-500 peak with the ability to tune it down for towing.
  10. I never had to take the entire carrier out, just same as you, lots of 'persuading' lol! Once I trimmed the edges it went it just by taking the one bolt out.
  11. A bit off topic, but if you were staying with a single, which would it be?
  12. Pretty sure it doesn't come with anything. At least both trucks I've had didn't have one. If you're going to remove them, I'd recommend grinding down the corners of the forward most one so you don't have to loosen the carrier bearing as much. Here's how I did mine and it made reinstallation a lot easier.
  13. I was more wondering about the return line from the VP/injectors. I have a 1/2in return from the FASS as well, just think the short return line is what's causing the problem about half-ish tank parked uphill in my driveway.
  14. I dropped the tank last time but if/when I end up removing this the basket, I'll just lift the bed. I'd also suggest running 1/2in lines for the pickup and return lines to and from the lift pump. The stock diameter return lines for the VP and injectors are ok and you shouldn't have flow issues with those. As far as modifying the fuel basket then returning to stock, I'm not sure it's possible unless you replaced the basket itself with a brand new stock one, and as long as you didn't rip any of the old lines off the truck (which you don't need to do btw) so I suppose it's possible, but seems like more work then just leaving it 'modified.' @trreed If what's in your pic was installed, I'd be interested to hear if your truck cranks slightly longer when starting for the first time after sitting nose up over night with 1/2 tank of fuel or less. I really think that's the reason mine does, but have only been able to test that theory with my truck.
  15. Here's a thread of mine with my fuel upgrades in it.
  16. Looks good! corded sawzalls are the way to go lol.
  17. Congrats there @dripley!!
  18. Forgot to mention, trans temps were around 130-150* the entire time on the freeway. In town it'd get up to around 160* but not much over. Only time I saw over 190 was after attempting to back up into a spot I know I couldn't make but the guy parking me thought I could.
  19. Yea yea I know! Still had a tiny squat. Although it's exaggerated in this pic, measuring wheel wells they were exactly level. I would've lowered the trailer on the hitch but I was borrowing it and the owner preferred me to not move it since it was setup for him. Figured it wasn't that far off and I wasn't driving far so I didn't argue. I went from the stock non-tow mirrors to this so huge adjustment. Took a couple drives to get fully used to the view angled and what not and then it was no looking back. Backing up now I only use the convex mirror as I can see all the way down the side of th truck, rear tire and the lines I'm backing into.
  20. I love em! Don't think I could drive the truck without them. The main glass is huge and the convex mirrors on the outside are so nice to have when backing up.
  21. What would be causing a metallic sound in the converter? Seems weird it lessend with a more stock stall and smaller injectors.
  22. In case anyone was wondering my truck/trans did fine towing on level 3. The little extra power combined with the new trans made towing sooooo much nicer then before, even towing a smaller trailer.
  23. Weird, they said it's backordered through Cummins.
