The apparent inevitable 2nd gen front-end rebuild..... suggestions?
After I threw my FASS and gauges I went straight to steering. So far I've done VP steering box brace, and a DOR track bar. It's really tightend up the front end A LOT! I'm waiting for synergy to release their new steering links and I'm throwin those on the truck as well. I know there were/are cheaper alternatives but I wanted to go with parts I knew would last. Lots of guys here have plenty of good things to say about mopar replacement steering and such.

Automatic Transmission Cooler Lines
Does installing this involve a full trans fluid flush?

Sudden loss of all power
You want them a good 2-3 turns loose from fully tight. I typically loosen the fitting at the vp as well just to make sure I get the air out as much as possible. Then I crack the injectors. Ive always primed my trucks by myself. I will either set myself up so I can see the injectors through the roof or I half stand out of the cab so I can see around the hood but still crank. Usually once you get fuel to the lines at the head, the truck will try and start, but stumble and die. Once that happens I'll tighten up the injectors a little more, that way not as much fuel will spray once it's starts but still cracked enough to let air out. Next time I crank it over it should start and then it's a mad dash to run around and get in there to start tightening everything up. Hooe me you get her running!

HY/HX swap
You mean increase boost with a boost fooler or elbow? Or bigger injectors n things? I plan on bigger injectors and a quad after I get my trans upgraded

Rear Driveshaft Universal Joints
Id imagine your clips will settle in once you start driving the truck. Not sure about the rear diff driveshaft angle.

HY/HX swap
Awesome! I got a pair of gaskets for the exhaust manifold and oil return ordered today. Boost elbow should be here by the end of the week. Hoping to get it swapped soon. I'm also going to finally install my egt probe while the turbos off too. Ive read most people seem to see 100-200* lower egt temps after installing the HX. Does that sound about right? Is it really moving that much more air?

HY/HX swap
Ok, and can I still run a boost elbow so I can maximize my boost?

Fuel pressure problem, again
Well if it's happening regardless of when or how the truck is parked and it only changes in severity based on how long it's sat, any fuel lines, return on supply, should be checked now. I'd suspect it's more then likely a leak on the supply side of things and like Mike has suggested, I'd replace any quick connect fittings and install push lock fittings in their place. I'd go through and take out all the existing fittings and put a fresh coat of loctite/thread tape (pick your preference) and reinstall. Make sure your fuel and water filters are on tight and sealed on good. I guess in other words I'd go back through the system as if I were installing it just to make sure everything's covered

HY/HX swap
Also, I just noticed on the tag that I have a HX35W and from my research I've done and the obvious, it just means the turbos waste-gated. I assume that this won't be an issue swapping since the HY is wasted-gated also and will/should already have things accommodated for the waste gate to be in there?

HY/HX swap
Since I'm swapping the HX in place of the HY do I also need to swap the oil feed line and drain line or will they match up?

Installed fuel line check valve
I have a hard time believing the leak is coming from the VP44, especially since you got it from Vulcan. I've never heard of a prime issue being because of a VP, especially a new/rebuilt pump. In that pic, have you replaced the washers for #4 & #5 in both locations? Have the grommets that attach to the #3 been replaced? Have the crossover tube o-rings been replaced? Have you made sure the return line on the FASS is tight or any washers or o-rings are in good condition? It would just suck to shell out money for a new VP and it doesn't fix the issue ya know?

Fuel pressure problem, again
Does this happen every time you park and shut off the truck? Or only during certain times? Parked up hill or down hill?

Exaust 4 or 5 inch
Thanks for that link KATOOM, that'll definitely keep anyone busy trying to get rid of drone once n for all. I do wonder how those would fare against a straight through exhaust since most said it was installed after a muffler. i have to say though, my exhaust and tuning is all stock right now and I still get drone so not sure if we can ever get away from it in that trucks. It really doesn't bother me all that much though, I just roll the windows down and enjoy the sound!

Ahh yes balancing, that's what I meant lol, thanks!

Man that's rough, hope that doesn't turn into the norm up here in Washington.

HY/HX swap
Cool that's what I figured. I talked with my dad and he thinks the paint is there from factory where they used a strobe to check the timing/speed. I'll give it a good air hose cleaning before putting it back in. After I get a boost elbow that is!

relay board and accessory power feed
Lookin good! How'd you mount them?

Another Arduino Project being dreamed up...Smoke output throttle reducer
I like the anti bark setup! I think that's harder to control then rolling on the throttle to reduce smoke. It would be nice if you didn't want to have smoke at all, but it seems easier to just tell yourself 'dont stab at it!' and the problems gone. To me, when getting on it and getting up in the boost, it's hard to remember to let off slowly.

Rear Driveshaft Universal Joints
- HY/HX swap
Well I finally got around to getting the HX out and the wheel is rock solid. No oil was leaking out of anywhere so I think I'll leave the rebuild alone for now. With that being said, what are my do's and dont's?! I want to clean it up a bit but don't want to do anything to damage it or anything. Can I take a soft wire brush and clean external bits up? Air it off? I have a couple things going on inside that I'm not too sure about. Is that edge that I'm point at ok? Also on the wheel you can see what almost looks like paint, it'll peel off the wheel with a finger nail but how else could I clean it off and get all the debri out?- Another Arduino Project being dreamed up...Smoke output throttle reducer
I'm interested to see how you'd throw all this together. This is well beyond my knowledge scope so I'm all ears!- Rear Driveshaft Universal Joints
He basically answered it for ya already! Basically just wheels not being perfect and for some reasons these trucks react to it more the other vehicles. Both my 99 and 02 do the same thing between 40-50mph and both have different tire sizes, driveline, bed length and they still do the same thing. I think it's just something that comes with these trucks and as long as it's not throwing you out of your seat then I wouldn't worry about it.- Fuel pressure problem, again
I'd call Eric at Vulcan performance and describe the issue and he'll get you everything you'd need to have replaced. - HY/HX swap
