Please fill out your signature, so that we (as a whole) can better serve you ;)If you're talking 24V, I'd guess about an hour or two, having not done it, but pulled my valve cover this past weekend, and eye-balled them.12V, probably an hour, as you don't have to pull the valve cover, nor mess with crossover tubes.
  2. Saturday, it was like 105*F with 112*F heat index.Sunday was 100*F with a 105*F heat index.Last evening, a wicked thunderstorm blew in, followed by a cool front.Right now, 71*F with a 77*F heat index.Looks to be in upper 70s to lower 80s here all week. YAY!
  3. saturday and sunday, towing ~4500#, I was getting 5-7mpg @ 60mph per scangauge2... Something is seriously wrong with this truck now.. Oddly, however, it doesn't run bad..
  4. Doomsday Prepper? ;)
  5. 103*F and I cut the horizontal section of the pvc pipe short /@#$& Puke bottle was about 1/2 full and 1/2" thick layer or more of crud. So I have to make a jerry-rig temp setup until I get another piece of pipe. From the Galaxy S3
  6. Ok, so I don't drive like hell, not even remotely close to that. I really, really try to feather-foot the truck to save fuel. But no matter what I do or try, it makes little to no difference, towing or not.. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4244&d=1341589031 http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4245&d=1341589173 pay no mind to the 6/4/12 fill-up being 414mi. it was a fudge-factor of not completely filling up, then adding more later that day to fill it up, so I kinda combined the two and made one entry.
  7. Nope, not saying that at all. I LOVE my manual trans. But.. If I could afford a built auto + exh. brake, I'd swap with a quickness.. Mostly because I'm old and getting tired of shifting LOL
  8. I'm just west of Washington DC..
  9. fluid level fine? possibly a band issue?

  11. I just use terminal cleaner and protectant spray.
  12. that cleaned up nice! I picked up the parts for my CVM, and plan to do the same with the radiator, as soon as the heat index drops below 110*F
  13. I only rev to mid 2s when towing and rowing through the gears. I don't speed and my truck feels a little luggish if I stay below 2000 when shifting, especially when towing. The scan gauge said 14mpg today when cruising in 5th at 40.. no towing and flat ground. From the Galaxy S3
  14. when i destroyed my nv4500.. ...the first time.. ;) ..the 2nd time.. LOL Can you say "too much torque?" HA!
  15. do you manually reset your Cmg and Tmg on a daily basis? As mine is currently, it resets MPG and Avg MPG every time the ignition is cycled.I'd like the Tmg and Cmg x-codes.. ;)I also try to feather the throttle as best I can, and as often as I can. I do not speed around, and I don't stab the throttle. I rarely go above 23-2400rpm now, during shifts, and I'll try to maintain 2200rpm while climbing any grades..Well, you see the results in the pic a few posts back..
  16. Michael, Is the far-right threaded section a 45* or something? I can't really tell from the picture.
  17. Understood. I'm more interested in YOUR custom x-gauges and what they do ;)
  18. As stated, I swapped my stock 100k mi. 47RE ('96 truck) for a nv4500, and it was nigh & day difference. I used a stock clutch, and had mild mods done to the 12V (boost elbow @ 35psi, #10 fuel plate, 3K gsk, bhaf, 4" exh, 7" single stack)My '01 has OE nv5600. Sometimes, I wished it had a built auto & e-brake.
  19. That was about 30 miles into the trip.. truck rolls smooth and freely.. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 - - - Updated - - - that doesn't mean anything to me LOL
  20. Today, towing through rolling hillside. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  21. haha! I'm a Tanker, and the explanation is pretty accurate!
  22. So, 3 fill-ups in, with my SG2, I'm around +43% fuel adjustment.. Average about 11.9 - 12.3mpg via SG2..Mike - what's this X-gauge setting stuff you keep talking about? What are YOU using it for? My gauge display (right now) is Instant MPG, AVG MPG, MPH, TCF.
  23. Yep, I did it on my '96. It's quite easy, straight-forward, and IMO, it was WELL-WORTH it.. :)If you have all your parts gathered, then it should take about 12-14hrs or so, provided you don't run into any issues I did, but wasn't earth-shattering..However, I see your sig says you have an '01. Not 100% sure on any PCM issues you may or may not encounter, if any..
