  1. Been doing some looking for a half ton. Finding a lot 318's, several 360's, even a couple 6 cylinders. The only 360 I ever had was in a 1 ton 15 passenger van. That got almost as bad a mileage as my V10. Of course it was pulling a good bit more weight and not very aero dynamic.
  2. I paid an upgrade charge for the 265's when I bought mine. Just another option. I had the 245's on my 96. It had a V10 so no good comparison. @Mopar1973Man which engine do you have in the 96?
  3. Ya'll are just bunch oil smearing, sandle wearing, coffe drinking north westerners. You even have a closet potato farmer in your midst. But you sure seem happy. Imma gonna do a little site seeing.
  4. As @Me78569 stated it is good the 35 psi. The catch is the oe waste opens at near 20 psi. That's what the boost elbow is supposed to help. It bleeds pressure off of the waste gate delaying opening until a higher psi is reached. My HX has an after market waste gate that opens near 35 psi. Makes a big difference.
  5. I was tickled pooples when I installed the newer seats. Did not realize how bad the seat had gotten until then. The fabric was gone on my old ones so the cushion alone was not going to be much help.
  6. If you want more boost you will need the elbow or something else to bleed pressure off of the waste gate so it opens later. If not 20 psi or so is the most you will see.
  7. I have seen quite a few different ones out but have not heard how the others are other than cheaper. I just put in a new to me set of seats in mine. I had thru the drivers cushion, then passenger cushion. The seat back worn out too. These are great but drivers cushion is smashed a fair amount by the door. A new one would be nice.
  8. If it was engaged you should hear it. If you keep spinning it with your hand it should start freeing up the more you spin it as the fluid starts getting dispersed. Mine does. I very seldom hear mine come on unless loaded and climbing hills in the dead summer. Sometimes I can hear it run on cold start up until the fluid gets dispersed.
  9. Whose cushion did you use?
  10. The speedo gets its signal from the ABS computer. If its disconnected no speedo. My seat light was on for a long. Put a new to me set of seats in and the light goes off now. Something in buckle, just never tried to find it.
  11. I think if I had waited on Dodge I would be melted like a marsh mellow. I did install a new compressor today. I was surprised at how far out of center the old clutch was compared to the old compressor and why it did not do something weird. It did loose oil but never gave a bad sign that it was shot. Lack of cooling over idle was a sign but I thought it was just the clutch slipping and not the compressor failing. Duh HuH.... Also a new compressor and no delete on the serpentine belt
  12. Starting to see the drivers door on the inside rusting pretty good along the fold and just had one spot pop up on the outside lower drivers fender just behind the front wheel. Sucks but what do you do?
  13. Back out my way no one would call those sandles. tough JoAnn tells me those are sneaky sandels. Just be sure your socks are Real Tree. I would hate spot you at 50 yards.
  14. that is what blows my mind. No noise, nothing. worked fine at idle and cooled great. Even after dirving and I lost the cooling you could open the hood and watch try and spin, like the clutch was just slipping. After trying to pull the clutch to remove a shim last week I noticed it did not look centered and ordered a new compressor. Its working fine for now while driving and idleling.
  15. I cant disagree with what you are saying. But I cant believe it did not make some noise of some sort. That sum beach is way out a whack.
  16. Those are just tennis shoes with holes in them. What kind of socks do you wear with them?
  17. Tomorrows job since the t storm got me after compressor replacement. Just seemed strange out of the blue like that.
  18. Several years ago when I changed my front diff fluid I was pretty sure I over filled and it vented some fluid and pretty much clogged the prefilter on my BAHF. Today while changing my ac compressor I could see that it has vented again. It has been near 4 years since I changed it. What would make it vent fluid now? I have a trail down the inner fender well.

  21. I replaced my compressor today. Been working fine at idle on the job. But drive at rpm for quarter mile and the cold air goes away. Pretty much figured the clutch was shot and slipping since the clutch could not keep up with engine rpm after a short drive. Never made any funny noises and worked fine parked. Took the old one off today and here is what it looked like. A touch off center don't you hink. Plus it was leaking some oil which that I attributed to the engine. Anyway I drained the oil from this one and got an oz and a half maybe. Wish there was a dipstick for situation.

Welcome. Two nice looking trucks you have there.
  23. I agree with disconnecting the edge. Is your WTS light coming on on the dash at key on?
  24. I tapped one forward of the ECM about half way to the VP several years back for and oil pressure switch t o run a booster fuel pump. That might be it.
  25. I remember one short time member who said, "I wanted a Cummins, its not my fault a Doge came wrapped around it". I bought my first one in 96 with a V10 in it. It blew up with 165k on it and thats how I got into the 02 I have now. While I have had some electrical issues that were pricey the mechanical end has held up surprisingly well. At least better than expected. 446k and still running a fair amount of OE stuff. I have not been disappointed for the long haul. All of the manufacturers have had there issues. I do agree with you on crap shooting ball joints.
