24 Valve ECM overheating?
Next time it happens see if your getting power from ecm to trigger the relay. See if the WTS comes on during these episodes. It should come on very briefly at key on when everything is warmed up. We have seen many people with this issue thru the years but usually it happens on every start up and not just when it's up to temp. It is a bit of a guess but easy to eliminate.

Fuel gauge fluctuations
I think the fuel basket works great. Worked fine stock and now that mine is modified for the AD I installed it still works flawlessly. On at least 2 occasions I have put just pinch over 35 gallons in my tank. Once in stock trim and once in the modified trim.

Is the tranny stock or have you modified it? A totally stock tranny will need some help to handle more power. That's the weak link. Your motor can handle fair amount of extra power just like it is. Your HY turbo is a bit of a choke point. My 02 2500 pulls my 15k pound 5th wheel pretty darn good with just the mods I have. Usually set on level 2 or 3. Mine has the HX turbo which is less of choke point. I am no where needing head studs. It all depends how wild you want to get. Tranny first woul be my opinion.- Well the Order is in
I guess that means they would not give price gaurantees back in March. That sucks.- I need help spending some money
That's good advice even if it's not leaking now. It will in the future.- New Tire Size found 235's to 245's
Not sure how this works out but on the 5 and 6speed trannys OD is .73 and .75 to 1 gear ratios. The .61 would be quite a difference.- I need help spending some money
Slow and deliberate the first time and an extra pair of hands if you can get them. My second time I did it on my own. It is not difficult by any means. Hope it solves your problems.- Fuel gauge tester
Over pressur on the gauge rating would be my only concern. How far that can go would be beyond me, but there has to be a tipping point.- New Tire Size found 235's to 245's
I don't disagree with @Dieselfuture. I just know the bigger you go to help the rear end the more stress you put on the front end. Kind of a double edged sword.- 24v vp valve cover and other ramblings
Guys, how hard is to learn how to use one these? That is for the uneducated and inexperienced person such as myself.- Intermittent idle sputter
It does not work on my tablet either, just my lap top. You can actually make them out of some fuel line for next to nothing. Just have to open up the tomsee, whar size you need.- Intermittent idle sputter
Nope. Did mine years ago. You can find the grommets in the parts look up tool. They are priced around 8 bucks apiece now, that's ridiculous once you see what they are. Just follow the return line off of the VP and it will take you to the tee that might be leaking. The other line out of the tee goes up to the head. There is a banjo bolt with a sealing washer thaT goes bad and it might leaking there. Your just going to have dig in and see. Worse thing is you might not see fuel leaking but air could be getting in.- Intermittent idle sputter
Mine did that when my return tee was leaking. Sounds like you might have that or another small leak causing a partial loss of prime. It seems to be happening to me every once in a while right now. Though mine only takes a couple seconds to start when it happens.- High Fuel Temp
As one who runs his tank until low fuel light comes on and beyond sometimes, I have never noticed any difference in how the truck performs with a full tank or near empty tank. Winter/summer or towing/empty. All my return fuel goes to the fuel basket. Maybe one day if I swap to a quad I will see what the fuel temp is. The only fuel related issues I have ever had involved hard parts and not the fuel itself.- Limited Pedal, VP problem?
Re splice it. That part should be simple. Getting the time is the hard part for me. I don't like getting into things like this with a small time window and time at home this past 3 months has been tough to come by. I will be done and gone from Maryland in 2 weeks and much closer to home for a while. If the problem is in the wiring, replacing the MAP sensor wont fix it. If it starts doing it again manipulate the harness and see if it stops.- Hi Everybody ...from Texas
I dont know your problem but the pump gear cannot jump a tooth unless you remove the timing cover. There is not enough room for that to happen. if there was there would be alot folks knocking them out whack. Me included.- is my vp44 shot
No. It is sucking air. Negative pressure from the pump sucking the fuel. If you pressurize that line it would leak outward.- Everyone post a picture of your truck!
Not sure its the self tappers or maybe the freaking Japanese beer cans. Just noticed what they were. Ah so, Sapporo ichi bon.- is my vp44 shot
Sucking leaks you will not see.- is my vp44 shot
You must have a lite foot not to boost over 20 psi with the mods you have. As far as the pump they can fail without a code but it is unusual. Did you ever try a shot of starter fluid?- Black Smoke - Normal? If not where to start looking?
I thought y'alls cold weather fuel was higher cetane?- Everyone post a picture of your truck!
I got peel and stick aluminum hvac tape. No screws necessary. Or maybe I don't need more beer..... - 2002 2nd gen dually performance recommendations
