  1. It is cheaper by the gallon if you dont mind measuring your self.
  2. Here is an article about it. One oz per gallon is the desired mix but dont worry if you put to much or dont have enough at a fill up. Any is better than none. Just try and keep it close. TCW3 is a must as mentioned mention above by @notlimah. It is ashless.
  3. I don't know what additive you used but I would highly recommend using some 2 cycle oil. I use super tech from wall world. It is good for the entire fuel sytem especially the VP. Today's diesel is not the same as the diesel we used back when these trucks were new. The injector cleaners out there today won't do much to an injector even if you soaked the injector in bowl with the cleaner straight out of the bottle, plus they dry the fuel out even more. A bio diesel blend is another good option. When i run that I fore go the 2 cycle. My truck and many others here are on the same diet. Mine has been on this diet for the past 8 years with others here, longer than that. 1 oz per gallon. Getting the temps towing will keep the injectors cleaner than any additive.
  4. If just a daily driver the fp is still a must and not expensive to add. If you plan on doing some towing right away the others mentioned become important. I ran my oe injectors for 250k and they still seemed ok. No mileage or power loss from new that I could notice. One thing that will help clean the injectors is strap a load on it get the get your egt's up around 1000 to 1200*. Hard to tell the temps without a gauge though. The heat wil cook the carbon off of them. Mine were pretty clean even after 250k. How many miles are on your truck and was it ever used for towing that you know of? And by the way I live just down the road in Hickory. Tell Thelma Lou i said howdy.
  5. That I can't answer that. I have some distrust in the key trivk and usually rely on my scan gauge. If yours was reading both it would read p ecu, then any codes, then p done. Then you would see p pcu, then any codes, then p done. This works 02's, most 01's and maybe a few 00's. Kind of hit miss on it
  6. Your 2000 only reads one computer and the 1693 is telling you there is a code in the other. As in the PCM since the key trick only reads the ECM.
  7. I used to have 65 Dodge van with a cedar 2X10 for a front bumper, quite attractive.
  8. The only time mine did this was when ECM went. Had all kinds of other crap going on too.
  9. I am amazed, we have turned a screw up into thread. Got to be a first. @JAG1 were you able to find the coffe pot the second time?
  10. My temp would peg at key on on s cold engine. Several of the sensoors share the same ground. You can see them in the wiring diagram.
  11. Mine stared fine but would rev up and down on its own. If i touched the throttle it would start climbing in rpm until i shut it down.
  12. Mine did that when the ECM went, except it did not stop at 1400.
  13. Mine is similar. It was part of the camper package option in 02,.
  14. D 80 with 3:55 gears 19.5 freeway, 14 around town, 11.5 pulling the 5th wheel Sorry fell asleep before I drank all the beer.
  15. Let me add I can get 19.5 mpg on the highway running 75 mph. Pu t me down to 55 with turns and slow down as tom3rd gear I am not far off from you. The 96 I had with the V 10 I was lucky to get 8 mpg in those circumstances.
  16. Just spoke to him briefly and don't know how he calculates but do know he is talking about in town stop and go mileage, which 14 ain't bad for a 7k pound truck.
  17. Welcome to the club my fellow moron.
  18. A worn VP will do it also, but I would suspect you would have some other signs of that happening.
  19. Aythingthat puts drag on the vehicle reduces mileage. 14 I only see when doing alot of in town driving, stop and go.
  20. Our threads here do tend to wander on occasion. Somewhat part of who we all are. I havegotten quite adept at filtering thru the ones that wander if looking for specific info. But a new thread is never a bad idea.
  21. Muffler bearings good, blinker fluid low. Amazing what happens here when you doze off for a bit.
  22. I beat you to it. Of course I am on ET.
  23. Plenty of us, including me, have mechanical gauges in the cab. It is not a deal breaker.
  24. It should drop, how much is the question. I hear my pump fine at key on but there is no way I could hear over the Cummins. I have never heard mine over the engine since the install and it is an AD so I don't know the difference between the 2.
