Is mild steel okay in fuel tank?
I am in the basket with absolutely no regrets.

fuel pressure needle valve and snubber
The needle valve should not pull the pressure down any.

Lift pump issue
I can only add this. cummins/articles.html/24-valve-2nd-generation_50/51_engine/electrical/list-of-verified-and-reliable-pc The link did not work but the article is in the articles section under 2nd gen, electrical.

Lift pump issue
If you left it plugged in overnight it is possible the truck was warm enough that it only stayed on briefly, like a couple seconds. Easy to miss if you are not looking right at it. .

1998 dodge power mirror problem
I would say you are welcome but it seems you have solved the problem yourself. Good to hear all is well.

Lift pump issue
You ought to see it at key on no matter what. It will come on briefly no matter what the temp is.

Gear swap
3:55. I don't think 3:73 was even an option.
-
Gear swap
Mine came stock with the 265's and I see 2000 rpm at 70. Google "tire calculator" and you can compare sizes. You can get taller but you will have to get a lot skinnier to even come close to the same weight even if it is possible. New wheels would be in order also.

fuel pressure needle valve and snubber
I chose the red because it matches the oe.

Lift pump issue
What is your WTS light doing? On at key on or delayec?
-
fuel pressure needle valve and snubber
Mine ssre black with red needle. One of thesed says I am going to put the green hoods on the lights and the tick marks will match the oe gauges.

Gear swap
I re reasd and stand corrected. May be I had too much coffee this morning. This does make better sense than what I thought you were trying to do.
-
Gear swap
Unless you have something odd on your truck you should have 3:55's on there. What rpm are you seeing at 70 mph? Mine sees 2000 rpm at 70 with 3:55 gears and 265 75 16's. Your 285's ought to run a little lower than mine,

fuel pressure needle valve and snubber
Yes you would be fine either way. I personally just have the valve but have thought of adding a snubbed but not to worried about it.

Head
If you don't want to,cut the the radiator cap just put it on with a quarter turn. It will stay in place and not build pressure. You can limp home on it that way.

FNG w/ a 02 24v W/ CODES
Is the ECT sensor? Could have sworn it started around 5v cold and went down as it warmed. But you have to remember my electrical abilities.
-
Track Bar failures
My 02 is on its 3rd track bar, went on right around 400k or so.
-
FNG w/ a 02 24v W/ CODES
Not the electronics genius here by any means, but I believe the voltage should go down as the throttle is advanced. The sensors use a 5v signal. Something is amiss here.

Did my VP go too?
It is a toss up my friend. It could be either. I understand your thoughts on the VP. When my ECM died back in 09, nobody could offer me anything better than check your grounds. Heard that over and over. Me, I was sure it was the ECM but had no knowledge to back that up. So i spent a month or more before replacing it. A VP is a big ticket item also and without some other verification we are hard pressed to tell you to buy one and hope it works. I see to many people show up here after spending 2, 3 or 4 grand chasing problems with parts with no solutions. Dont want you to be one of these folks.

Did my VP go too?
Will that work going back thru the pump? I don't know just asking. Almost sounds to easy.

Loss of boost and power
Which one of those gauges is right. One is bouncing from 30 to 40 psi and the other 16 20 psi.

Poor MPG
Ethanol in diesel? Never seen that out my way.

Starter turning slow
Good to hear she's cranking again.

Poor MPG
I knew the Quadanese speakers would show. That part a bit over my head.
-
Poor MPG
I don't know about the quad tuning, but those tires and wheels sure are not helping. The weight and circumfrance will knock the mileage of quick especially on the 3:55 gears. If you had to lift the truck at all because of them, there is another mileage detractor.
