  1. good to hear. Being warm is much better.
  2. This might tax my 60 year old brain but as I remember you take the glove box door out and it uncovers the bolts holding the air bag at the bottom and I believe it fits into slots or snaps in at the top. As for the duct work it moves forward with when you pull the dash back and it is just a matter of replacing the screws. I had the advantage of the hvac box being removed and it gave me a lot of extra room. I am assuming your heater and ac are working fine, if not this would be a good time to consider rebuilding the box. Another item that would help you is a copy of the FSM. It is available in the down load section here. It will help with other things you might encounter. It definitely helped me with this and other issues I have dealt with.
  3. What kind of guidance are you looking for? Removing the dash is covered in the first part of this articlehttp://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/27-hvac-heating-ventalation-and-air-conditioning/57-air-conditioning-evaporator-core-heater-core-replacement. You don have o drain anything, you just need to get the dash loose and away from the windshield on the passenger side. I replaced mine a year ago and did this little write up on the dash and hvac box rebuild.http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/6792-new-dash-and-hvac-box-rebuild. Hope this will help.
  4. 65 this am in NC. The cold is coming but we wont see but the mid 20's for lows the next few days.
  5. I realize that, 190 in and 150 out are both going to burn. 120 I can hold with no problem. But from what I believe I read folks were saying they ought to be equal in temp to be working right. Maybe I just misunderstood what they were trying to say.
  6. A long time ago we lived in a house that had an oil circulator and a 2 burner pot belly stove. Both were used to heat the house, but the pot bellied stove served double duty as a cook stove. We had no electric stove at the time. The wife could cook a 4 course meal on that thing. She could regulate the heat like no one I have ever seen. Some mighty good food came off that little stove.
  7. Evidently the dogs owner owns a pub!!
  8. I agree with you on the both hoses hot equals bad heat transfer, but I have seen so many posts stating that they should both be hot to be working right. I just cant get my arms around that theory.
  9. I found my self in a similar situation when my front end was wearing down. I knew the parts but not much about replacement and which part to replace. I thought an alignment would fix my problem. When they gave me an estimate of $900 to replace what they thought was bad just to fix it where they could align it, I decided to do it myself. I did spend the same $900 maybe $1000, but replaced every thing past the pitman arm where the shop was only replacing maybe 60% of what I did. Ended up in much better shape doing it myself. It is a pretty tough job though because every thing is stuck together pretty well and you will need some special tools. The tools I bought were included in the $1000. If you can or dont mind turning a wrench it is doable at home. I personally used Moog parts for mine and 60K later they are holding up well. I am not trying to over simplify this job, it can be tough, but it can be done if you are a mind to.
  10. Thats the sale I saw about a month after buying mine. some times you just cant win.
  11. Welcome to the family Kevin.
  12. I bought Isspro EVI gauges and the instructions left a little to be desired. I believe Diesel Manor has some good instruction on there website. None of them are difficult to install, though you might be scratching head occasionally. Dont let that bother you however if you run into a problem just ask a question here and it will get answered. I have a bald spot on my head from scratching, but the folks here have always pulled me thru.
  13. Most likely you have a blend door problem. The motor that operates it has a plastic fitting that ties them together and they can crack throwing the door off. Give a look at this http://www.heatertreater.net/index.html.
  14. Glad to hear she is home and healing.
  15. I believe Advance Auto or Auto Zone had a really good deal on them not long ago. It would be worth a look.
  16. A fuel pressure gauge is easy to install also.
  17. If by module you mean the tuner and not the ebrake you could be right and thats why I removed the tuner. The temps came up about 8* overall but still fluctuated between the high 150's(though not often that low) to the low 180's. That made me think the tuner was part of the problem. I disconnected the wire from the ect to the ebrake and the temp is holding between 179 and 184. I have not seen it swing but forget to look at it sometimes. It has been like that for the 2 days I have had it disconnected. I am going to reconnect the wire for the drive home and see if it swings. As far as the tuner is concerned it was connected to the MAP, TPS, and the VP. I am pretty sure there is one more tap under the dash but I cant remember for sure, but will check that out soon. The only thing the ebrake is connected to is the ECT(for cold start up) and the PCM for a speed signal. Cant remember which wire I tapped.
  18. He ought to keep those young ladies happy for while.
  19. I drilled a small hole in the pod below the gauge to allow me to know it was leaking before it ran down the back. I did have small leak that was easy to detect just by running my finger over the hole. As small as it was it might have taken me a while to realize it. My fitting on the gauge needed a little tightening was all.
  20. Below freezing is to cold for me anymore. Not my favorite time of year at all.
  21. A person or persons down and unconscious and a mystery gas/vapor in the air Is a definite no go situation. They teach that in OSHA classes also. It is basic stuff.
  22. That sounds about right, but I had a sharper mind 30 years ago:think:.
  23. I could not agree more. It is your truck and you do what you think is right.
  24. The IAT sensor and I think the Map sensor.
  25. I tend to agree with you. I updated my previous post. When mine went it did not throw the 606 code, but about 3 times the codes you got. Let see if any of the others folks have some opinions. ECM's are way to expensive to throw at a problem.
