something wrong with my truck?
I am running at 22.5k with my trailer and get 11 mpg at 65 and less mph. I agree with Tom that your mileage is not out of line. The egt and boost numbers you quoted earlier, were they with or without the trailer? I was assuming with out. Killer223 It gets easy to stray sometimes and I hope you got a handle on your original problem. I remember you talking about lower fuel mileage and similar egt's like Hex. Yall both run bigger tires than I do(265 75r 16) and maybe that is the cause of it. I just dont see that kind of boost just cruising and my egt's are a little lower. Just made a trip to Baton Rouge La from Hickory NC. 800 miles + or - and got 18.5 mpg running 70 and mostly 75. Hill country the first 200 miles and then just kept flattening out the further south went.

You might want to pull them and be sure none were to close to the tone wheels. One of them might be damaged.

What diesel to run when? When to run additives?
It is good to hear we are building any refinery in this country. 40 years has got to be close to right. I saw on one of the news channels the other day that the cost a gas is "expected" to go lower in 2014, but the price of diesel was "expected" to go up due to high demand. That was the only discussion of it have seen anywhere.

It came from BD Diesel with the booster pump I got from them many years ago. The pump was a Carter so I would think the switch was an off the shelf item also.- High Idle Kit Is Here
Same here on mine with no chip of any kind at the moment.- Getting ready to replace heater core, question about AC Freon
I am partial to this or my other favorite .- 200,000
Way to go. Getting close to 300 on the 02.- clutch slipped
That would be the time to do both. That should be coming in the very near future.- Truck won't start
Your welcome. Learned that one the hard way myself a long time ago.- Head gasket boost leak?
I doubt you are lifting the head. I ran my Banks system for about 8 years at 33 to 34 # of boost with no issues. I would go back a check and be sure you got all the boot clamps back on and tight. Double check your intake bolts for tightness and anything else on the intake system you messed with.- Truck won't start
Just crack open the lines at the head. 1 3 and 4 should be sufficient. Crank for about 20 seconds then stop for a minute or so and repeat until you get fuel coming out. Get fuel to any one of them and tighten that one up and keep cranking until you get fuel to another and tighten. There is no particular order for this just tighten them up as the get fuel. It should fire off and run a little rough until it gets all the air out of the remaining lines.- 01 NV5600 Shifter Knob
I think Geno's has one with a micro switch in it. I thought about getting one for my e brake.Anyone have any experience with it?- dagnabbit... now I gotta take a drivers' test.
We are running on 8 year renewals here in NC. I will be 68 before i have to test again. Just got a ticket last Wednesday for speeding 74 in a 60 in Virginia. The Sherriff wrote me a ticket for failing to obey a traffic sign instead of speeding. I think he did me a favor but I dont know if there are any points on my license and insurance to go with it.- Merry Christmas to All
I think prescription medication might be in order for that. Glad to see the wife is gaining back her health. Hard to top grandchildren, even with duck calls. I have a slightly used set of drums if you are interested for next year.- Merry Christmas to All
No matter how crazy things get all it takes is about 5 minutes with Miss Abigail to get your mind right.- something wrong with my truck?
I had the intank pump installed on mine many years ago. Just over a year later I started having issue with bucking and low performance. turned out the pump was putting out less than 1 psi at WOT. If you dont have a FP gauge on it, you need to get one or at least get test gauge and see what it is producing.- 01 NV5600 Shifter Knob
Any of yall know how many revolutions your oe knob has turned since new? Mine is on it 4th or 5th. It just keeps revolving.- clutch slipped
S So many replies, how does one answer. Lets try. I put seal has less near 35k on it and I hope it is not leaking, but you never know. My oe and the Valair would both slip with a dead left foot on it. Maybe 3/4" of travel, kind of hard to say. I think the oe was like that when I bought the truck in 01. but that was a long time ago and I could be wrong. I know the oe was like that for the past few years and the Valair has been that way also. The clutch never slipped all the way back from Indiana back in August. The tappet cover has been leaking for a while. I guess it is possible that this is the cause, but why just now and only for the one short trip? I came back over the mountains today and still could not make it slip in 5th or 6th. If the oil sprayed out i could believe it. My old seal was leaking before I replaced the clutch but never got on it.The new seal has about 65k on it. I have to assume you mean the fly wheel since my truck has no flex plate on it. I dont believe I have any drain plug near the clutch disc that I can think of. There is no inspection plate to look at the clutch. There is however a slot on the bottom of the bell housing that would allow any fluid to drain. The only way to visually inspect the clutch assembly would be to pull the tranny. Not an option at the moment. I would thin if I could see the fly wheel that it should be shiny metal just like a brake rotor where the clutch disc contacts it and the rest should be dry and dusty. I dont know what happened to make it slip. Maybe the clutch pedal got in a bind or some thing else. All I know was it slipped on that one trip and now I cant make it slip. A new trip is going to come up pretty soon with the 5th wheel an I guess I will know for sure then.- Flashing wait to start light
I know nothing about the company you posted. My nightmare with ECM's started with a company named ASI. All ECM's sold today are remans. The dodge on I got 2 years ago is still working fine. The 2 I got from ASI, 1 did not work at all and #2 lasted almost 1 year. The cruise control did not work at all.- Merry Christmas to All
- clutch slipped
A little hard to check mine for fluid since the tappet cover is leaking oil and it runs over and around the bell housing. Always wet there. Nothing different in where or how its parked. I changed my oe clutch at near 235k and it still had some life in it, so even with my occasional foot rest I am not hard on the clutch so I dont think it is worn with 65k on it. That was my first thought until I drove it a gain a could not make it slip. Ihope it was a fluke and maybe something just bound up the the hydros momentarily. Keeping my pinkys crossed. Mine are not exactly stock, master from Advance(100k) and the slave from Rock auto(50k). I watch my left foot for the most part. Just get lazy every now and then. Been driving manuals most of my life. - oil pressure sensor
