  1. @Mopar1973Man is this considered a reverse level kit?
  2. Go to settings and toggle the mpg offset on/off
  3. You will see the wires running down to the firewall grommet through the fuse panel cover as well.
  4. That is absolutely not true. Holsets will throw shrapnel if they let go. Starving a turbo of oil to seize it is also a bad idea.
  5. I've had a turbo leaking oil so bad it blew boots off at 5 psi, and never had the pickup even think about running away when I shut it off. If it's not gonna run away then, probably the only time it would, would be if you had excessive crank case pressure and worn rings. But by then your $2k motor is toast anyways so.
  6. But are you really worried so much about your pickup running away that you'd spend $800 on something you would most likely never use? Just check your turbo for leaks every once in a while and you'll be fine.
  7. Various places. Infinite Performance offers one I think. Maybe Stainless Diesel or Schied.
  8. Most sled pullers beyond the work stock class run these. Spring loaded guillotine specifically designed to smother a turbo
  9. Gallon/trip utilizes an offset percentage to compensate for your injector size. Otherwise it is not accurate. The eco gauge is instantaneous mpg based off of duration and I think a gpm calculation. When they are dialed in, they are pretty accurate gauges. For parameters, your best fuel economy is going to be cruise timing around 22-23* or whatever your truck likes, and low fuel %. Basically keep engine load % and EGT's as low as possible.
  10. No idea. Have had the pickup back for just under a week and been too busy to crawl under and look. Just know it's a loud annoying pop when I turn in either direction when moving at low speeds or no speed. Granted, I have done my fair share of driving on U.S. Forest Service roads, so I'm guess that had something to do with it.
  11. Is not junk yet.
  12. Might be wise. I was gonna try going through the boot like @Mopar1973Man does, and it might take a few cycles to get the grease down in the cups but that's my hope anyways.
  13. I'm not sure I'm too pleased with my kit. It's been on two years and is starting to clunk. My plan is to try greasing it but I'm worried it's too far along now and needs replaced.
  14. I believe the key is important for the internal ckp sensor in the VP and how it is calibrated with the PSG Haven't counted. Regurgitated information from people who know way more about this than I do Edit: there are 72 teeth on a VP gear. Which means there's 72 on the cam gear, and 36 on the crank gear. Which means the VP turns once for every two revolutions of the crankshaft, giving you 360* and 10* per tooth, even tho 72 teeth means 5* on the gear.
  15. Jumping a tooth would either advance or retard the mechanical timing by 10*.... which the pump theoretically would compensate for and give you the same timing range.
  16. Industrial has just as many problems with their VPs as any other manufacturer. Tyler's final VP was from Industrial - I think he had like 25k miles on it when it sheared something in the housing.
  17. I'm not disagreeing with you on rebuild quality. Can tell you mine is a questionable rebuild as well, and went in for warranty a month into ownership. Same Midwest SO pump. But the SO pumps that can make +/-700 are out there.
  18. Not necessarily. Some SO Rebuilds are good enough to get you there. @jlbayes says its possible if you want to use a secondary that most wouldn't consider for single turbo use. If you have enough injector and turbo it'll go that high on an SO
  19. It's not possible. @TFaoro tried once. Couldn't get it to jump a tooth
  20. iPhone cameras are getting ridiculously good these days
  21. No, I didn't go chasing it. The pickup has enough hail damage as it is.
  22. It had just passed actually. Headed towards Nebraska. Missed Sterling with golf ball sized hail.
  23. Taking the intake hose off the turbo makes for easy access to the oil filter. When you unscrew it, you can let it gently drop down to rest on the AC lines, and then can snake it out the top without spilling. My drain plug doesn't have a washer on it.
  24. 0.006 is the amount of backlash the ring gear has when the pinion is held stationary. It moves more than you think it would. Rotational play in the pinion is going to be that 0.0xx backlash plus the tolerance of the free-to-rotate pinion teeth.
