  1. If you're going to be loosening the 19mm nuts completely, it'd be better for you to pull the line to the side and pop the crossover tube out and completely pull the injector and re-seat.
  2. I'm betting there's a misalignment yet. The way I like to do injectors is put injector in, pop in crossover tube, tighten down high pressure line (that way the injector can still rotate in its bore to fully interface with the crossover tube) and then put injector hold down in and torque.
  3. In what order did you tighten down the injectors and lines? It sounds like you have a crossover tube that isn't fully aligned causing the miss.
  4. They will eventually crack as well. Stainless is the way to go to prevent cracking. Mine got shipped to my cupholder where it still resides... until I find a good source of wastegate tubing.

Man, I appreciate you guys looking out for me.
  6. Speedometer is looking good. @dripley is it broken? Or are you coasting at 120+ with the truck off?
  7. Fun fact. 24" blades fit too. Get almost all the way to the top of the windshield

Thanks for the tip! We are gonna have to find something with more holding power than electrical tape..... or when we put the backlight in the gauge we will re run the boost line through the dash cap

Remember Mike. Only the best for this van!

Just wanted to reassure everyone that every modification is done in a very professional matter. And that it made all of 15 pounds of boost last night. Not pictured: a dozen or so empty beer cans between myself and a buddy.
  11. Stock intercooler is pretty robust and very efficient. Stick with it unless something goes wrong with it. If you're about speed and torque, compounds are for you. When my compounds went in, I had the same size injectors you did and speced both exhaust housings on my turbos tighter to bring more torque in more quickly. Using an HX35 as a secondary will choke down the primary, but my vote is for a 475/96/1.15. That tighter housing on the primary will help a ton. I love mine. We will be able to help you understand the math as well. It looks intimidating, but is actually rather easy.
  12. For you, a 62/68/12 would get you comfortably to 500 hp as your truck sits now. It would be just about maxing out the wiretap but it would get you there. HX35/HT3B is a tried and true setup, but a pain in the *** because the HT3B is reverse rotation and old. A HX35/s475 setup is good for 550-575 hp and makes for a killer tow rig. But it really depends on what your goals for the truck are. Compounds are great for towing but are harder on the driveline. A single is good for most DD applications.
  13. It depends on where the crack is. I've had plenty of turbine housings with cracks along the divider of the two volutes (viewed by looking in where the turbine sits) and this type of crack doesn't typically affect performance. If the crack is in the waste gate bore, then yes, it would leak exhaust and you would see reduced performance.
  14. My guess is they had a budget, and the turbo budget was chewed up by the unnecessary VP swap. Hence his "I think we can do this on a stock turbo" statement. But the kid got a fresh VP. I bet they were stoked they only had to double 186 hp instead of a 200+ hp truck. I also don't think they quite have the understanding of the V2 tuning to get it right.
  15. the VP44 is your injection pump. Found on the 98.5-02 pickups. Some refer to it as a 24 valve, some refer to it as a VP truck, and yet others just simply refer to it as a problem!
  16. Already been said, but yes, ditch the S369 and the T4 manifold. Neither is suited for a VP truck.
  17. LMAO I could run a 15 second pass with a smarty, boost elbow, and a manual. This is impressive... I should've signed up for this horsepower doubling thing!
  18. And this is part of why we don't like PDD. Not to mention just throwing a VP on it and not making any more power.
  19. Dana gear sets are $200 a pop if you search around. Should probably look at doing bearings while you're in there. You're looking at roughly $2k in parts to do it yourself.
  20. Looks like PDD only offers that turbo with the 68 mm turbine. Which is better for spooling, but still take @Me78569's advice and get a set of injectors in the 7x0.011 - 7x0.012 range
  21. He's more of a word of mouth / over the phone kind of guy. I only know of two of his pumps that are floating around for sale.
  22. Left is a stock downpipe. Notice the two bolt flange (which you know when you put the 4" on). This is an older style downpipe that had a 3" v-band on the outlet vs the 5-bolt elbow. Right is an hx40 downpipe. Has a true 4" v-band connection directly to the outlet of the turbo.
  23. Bet it was a Monster Mike pump. He makes some killer VPs, and those top feeds in that video look like his.

Tuner is in, turbo is back in, hood pins installed (#racecar!) and the van finally did a burnout! . Of course, right after I get back from seeing how much quicker the van is now (butt dyno says yes, is very quicker) my buddy tells me he's getting rid of his 96 OBS and will sell me his relatively new 200/100 injectors, a 66 mm turbo and Super Duty intercooler setup, gauges, and his tuner with custom tunes for CHEAP. Dammit. Was hoping to not fall too far down the modification tunnel again. But here we are. Supporting mod time!
  25. No I mean a 4" HX40 downpipe to go with any S300 turbo.
