Brake Pedal Slow to Return
Depends on where the failing happens. If the spool and/or bore is worn, it can allow leakage and pressure where its not supposed to be. That kit should work

Doing a conversion from Auto to standard
512k on the tranny and transfer is a lot, might need to look into a rebuild on the shafts, transfer case, and tranny.. other than that get the floor console and trash/stash bin from the interior to complete the conversion. Dont forget about a clutch either.. Someone else might know better than me but I think the nv4500s had the small input shaft as well that early in the second gens. Why is the truck in the scrap yard? Accident?

It's what came standard behind a Cummins. I prefer an nv5600 6 speed but parts are rare and rebuilds are expensive. Just make sure you have all the parts to do the swap to keep it smooth

I think its also a hydroboost thing. Replaced my booster and fluid thinking the same thing, no change. Dripley might be right too.. want to do stainless and braided lines eventually.

this was my biggest issue with masks and sanitizing everything.. your body wouldn't be able to keep learning and fighting to keep you from getting sick. so now you live in a clean room and when you go back to the real world, boom instantly (more or less) sick. @Mopar1973Man, was greeted with a grapefruit colored sun this morning from those fires you posted about earlier. Even now at 1pm there are spots of pinkish orange glow from the high level smoke making its way over here. Have a photo but cant post it. Too large.. 64 megapixels will do that i guess

Had covid back in March, was less disruptive than the flu for me. Worst part was the lack of smell. Lasted a week after I was out of quarantine for no smell. Not getting a vaccine because of that. This actually has a semi-sensible reason for why this happened. Covid spread faster therefor pushed out the flu because it used the same pathways of infection. Think of Covid as an ivy and how it spreads so quickly and chokes out anything in the same area. But I'm sure, especially early on, the flu was counted as covid because the symptoms are so damn similar.

Setting the AC to 80... Thats just not right.. What is deemed unnecessary appliances? Don't charge your electric cars that you have fought tooth and nail for? Oh the irony...

Agreed. Why not go after india and china if you want to make a statement about pollution.. we (the US) are kind acting like an air pump on older cars.. the solution to pollution is dilution.

2017 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel
Still learning plus having 4.10s and 285s still. 65 mph is 2150 rpm. Trying to figure out timing. Cant get oil temps close to coolant temps. On the highway (70mph) today after 45 mins, oil temps were at 207-210 while coolant was at 195-200. At 50mph i got equal temps with no cruise timing added.. but thats another thread to figure that out

31s/33s on 20s or larger. Oh and 12.5 inch wide tires on 14 to 15 inch rims.. Almost always paired with a lower lift.. if any It looks wrong, like the trucks skipped leg day at the gym..

Except for the one bolt pretty much under the edge of the fan pulley that i couldnt get any wrench on until i bought one and modified it, yeah thats all it is. If you take the fan and pulley off of the mount, no issues with access.

2017 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel
AlfaOBD only uses the OBDlink dongle not the app. Depending on what you are towing.. the 3.92s would be close enough to 4.10s that you shouldn't need a change. But I know with a Cummins 4.10s make highway a bit rough. And the fuel economy takes a big hit. My truck has 4.10s. If it wasn't for the fact i was sled pulling, I'd have put 3.55s in by now. Best I've gotten is 15.7 mpg hand calc'd. Relatively mixed driving.

AlfaOBD is what you are thinking of, OBDlink should just be gauges. I've used it on both of my new trucks. It's fun to play with but its kind of steep money wise for only using it every now and then for upgrades. TBH, you probably would never know the difference between the 3.92s and 3.55s with the double-overdrive 8 speed behind the EcoDiesel. I think I had to be doing 70-75 to get to 2k rpm. Might not actually have a hitch? pics would help on that because there are a few different types that could be installed..

Two things.. One: What is slash? guessing underbrush.. Two: I think New England took your rain.. The numbers just came in. From July 1st to today, July 19th my area has received almost 6 inches of rain. In the same period central New England has received almost 16 inches of rain. But Cape Cod and Nantucket barely got an inch in the same time period.

Standards exist for a reason, and when they are used so prevalently like wiring connectors, it is not in a companies best interest to swap designs. You can still buy packard connectors brand new, they were used on h4 headlight bulbs and single pin sensors. Flat pins blow my theory out of the water, Deutsch connectors are round pin.. If you have any thing like these you can use by all means use it.. https://ceautoelectricsupply.com/individual-components/connectors-and-plugs/metri-pack-connectors/ Metri-pack 280 is the most prevalent.

How's everyone doing weather wise? I used to follow the nationwide stuff a bit closer but have since fallen off. And I don't watch the news because its just negative B.S. CT had an EF0 tornado yesterday (07-18-21). And we are stuck in a shitty weather pattern. We had the more sun this past Saturday, for the shoreline areas, than in the last week-two weeks. Been cloudy, 80s-90s, with dew points around 70-75°F, then severe torrential downpours and thunderstorms for most days. Some areas Saturday picked up 5-6" of rain alone. All the rain formed mid-state and above. I know Mike (@Mopar1973Man) has been in the 110s and up, is that normal for you guys? Also, has anyone seen any patterns for winters after summers like this? Not trying to start the climate change argument here either.

2017 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel
Owned an 18 ecodiesel before my 19 2500. I got decent fuel economy with mine, despite 3.92 gears. In town was 16-18 mpg. Went up to Maine to a friends place, got 25 mpg both ways with 4 people and gear doing 75+mph. if you get the lower gears like the 3.02s or 3.55s (forgot the options), and if you have lots of highway, you could easily clear 27-30mpg. I think with either the gladiator or the new body style of 1500s. I liked my little truck, if it wasn't for the fact I am trailering my 2001 for sled pulls, I would have kept it. And even now, I am having problems with my 2019 2500 (bought used and cumulatively has been in the shop for over 2 months). I had one issue with the ecodiesel at the very beginning, like at 200 miles, with a glow plug controller that popped a check engine light because it went bad. Otherwise, it was fine and it did everything I needed it to do besides tow my 2500. If you are looking for one, stay away from the first 2 years (2014-2015), and delete it, or at the very least an emissions compliant tune. The factory tune is/was very very dirty (14-18 version at least). I would have a full dpf every two weeks in the winter even with only a few minutes of warm up. My 2019 Cummins hasn't said boo to me about the dpf being full since September when I bought it. I never got the chance to do any major performance upgrades to mine.

Define separating? With the gasket exposed in certain areas, it could be rusting..

Random charging and not charging.
Truck is getting jealous? No joke, my uncle had an AMX when he was much younger, that wouldn't run when my uncles then girlfriend would be in the car. Coughing, sputtering, low power, the works. gets my dad to come and drive it, works fine. I think my dad even had my uncles girlfriend get in and it did exactly what it did before my dad got there. Could the alternator be starting to head out? What does the ASD actually control? I know it stands for Auto Shut Down relay, but people have pulled it with the truck running and the truck stayed running..

Elec help - no dash lights, no cruise control, no power to ODB etc…..
Fuse box under the hood is the PDC.. I think the one on the dash was just known as interior fuse panel? How did you get the connectors out of the back of the interior fuse panel? When I tried when my brother and I did a dash swap and heater core replacement, I couldn't get a hold of the connectors to remove them.. Original plan was to remove the dash entirely to get some better working room. Then there were too many aftermarket wires for an amp that came with the truck but don't know if it even works. So tilted dash for the heater core it was.

New 2022 3500 Dodge Tradesman 6.7 HO Aisin ordered and coming in the fall ???
Complete opposite in ct. I think I see a first gen of any type, besides the one that lives in town and the one that sled pulls, about 2-3 times a year. Second gens are really common, first half 3rd gens are more rare and second half 3rd gens are semi-plentiful. But most common is the 4th gen. 5th gens are starting to show up a bit more. I think they will slowly replace the 4th gen being the most common around here.

Deutsch connector I think is what was original to the truck.. might be metri-pack, those are what ive seen the most around these trucks.

Head Leak
Well consumer level... at work we have ultrasonic cleaners filled with a solvent called 3m-hfe-72de (I think) that will leave a part dry dry once the fluid evaporates. I think you are supposed to vapor degrease with it but we end up dunking the parts for the ultrasonic treatment. Works better than brake clean. But don't put plastic near it, it will try to pull the oil out of the plastic. Would love some for home but it evaporates faster than acetone, and costs $5000/55gal drum.. Oh and it pulls all the oil out of your skin and nails if you get some on you. We need it so strong because we test valves on a couple different fluids then offset the pressures and flows for the customers application/fluid. Some fluids don't like others. Think dexcool and green coolant, but with hydraulic systems.
